DMV Driver Services Center

My wife and I swung by today to take care of some business and you couldn’t ask for a better experience with the DMV. There was just a short wait, which was amazing considering that there are only three clerks, but they kept everyone moving right along. To top off the speed, everyone was SO NICE and HELPFUL!
Nice and helpful at the DMV? Yes! I’m dead serious! The next time that I have any business that requires an in person visit, I’m bypassing the dark part of the universe that is the DMV in Murfreesboro and heading back to the one in Shelbyville!

What you need as a new or returning resident for proof of ID: Your old state issued driver’s license. Husband was asked for his Social Security card. Birth certificate (certified, not a copy) — they asked this of me as soon as I spoke to someone. I brought my rental lease and a bank statement. Check their website for alternatives.
Cost: $ 12.50 — all forms of payment accepted. It seems that they like to issue licenses based on «milestones» and I have one in two years so the cost for me was less expensive but my ID expires in two years. My husband went and his ID cost $ 23 and it is good for six years.
Directions: Enter 100 Eagle into your GPS or mapquest — per their website. You won’t get lost, you will just feel like you are once you find the right road to turn on… You WILL miss Davis Ln, you won’t miss the small building covered in yellow signs for cash pay day loans, etc. This is in the plaza for Dollar General. Yes, you will drive through a sort of residential area and drive along a railroad track complete with rail cars. Pass the recovery center. Go straight and the building will be on your right. It looks like an industrial warehouse. Parking lot is not large and I kept questioning where I was at because of the sign on the building is odd, says «EAM» or something to that effect.
How to get started. Approach the side of the desk area and wait for someone to greet and help you. They will then print up a number for you which from what I can tell determines what you are there for. There is a digital sign telling you who is being served at the time and at which service area. They will have you fill out the form on the green clipbpoard to your left.
