They have a little diner and a Godfather’s pizza attached and it is next to a Dairy Queen. That is an automatic + 1*. The little store was nice and clean. The bathrooms were well tended to and clean. The soap actually softened my hands as well as cleaned. This was a welcomed luxury. We kept seeing old school buses painted with sponsorship logos and lots of bicycles on top. One of these buses stopped at this station and I could ask what was going on. This Sunday started some bike tour. They were clear it was NOT a race across Iowa. It sounds like a bunch of college kids bus to one side of Iowa, bike and drink back.(This was evident from all of the beer logos, the cans in their hands, their purchases at the store, and the glazed look in their eyes.) Pumping gas was easy, didn’t even have to prepay, here in Shelby, IA, they trust you. Pump, when you are finished, pay. Lovely!
