My boyfriend and I drive past this place all the time and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. And then came back the next week! The pizza is AMAZING (and pizza is my favorite food so that’s saying a lot). The first time we went in it was their pizza special day where it’s half off. Sadly, I forget what day of the week that is.
I live in midtown and became a beer snob (especially with Hopcat enabling that right down the road from me) so when I saw Shelby Pub and Grill’s «over 60 beers on tap!» sign outside I was judgey thinking «What? Bud, Bud Light, Coors? There’s no way they have that good of a selection.» I was wrong. They have a surprisingly good beer selection for the area with lots of local breweries and other microbreweries. And don’t worry, they also have the classics of Bud, But Light, Coors if you like that.

Love this place!!! Have had just about everything on the menu and have never not liked an item! Prices are great service is excellent!!!

Never even got to order food! Not very crowded on a mid week afternoon. Waitress told us to sit anywhere and told us look was very slippery. She came and took drink order about five minutes later. 2 Arnold palmers arrived. She said she would return to take order. She must ha e gone into a trance, the next 15 minutes were spent mopping behind bar and opening Christmas gifts. Left $ 2 on table and walked out right in front of her. No need to come back here. Too bad because food was ok on other occasions

Went here tonight to get carry out. I was told that it would be 15 minutes for pick-​up. I waited for 40 minutes total. They were under staffed and it seemed like everyone was running in circles. The ribs were some of the worst I ever had. They were very dry that I couldn’t chew and cole slaw that tasted spoiled. I’ve lived in the area for almost 30 years and used to go here frequently. Needless to say I will be taking my business else where.

I’ve been here twice since they changed the name. The Pizza is absolutely outstanding, perhaps the best in the area. Service was great and the prices are cheap.

I was there for a birthday party and the waitress was rude. She hardly ever came around. I started asking a other waitress for stuff and she was amazing. The pizza was the worst I’ve ever had. The only thing that saved it was the one waitress that helped me when we needed something at the table. Music was boring too

Love this place! It’s such a typical neighborhood hole in the wall bar, that is just perfect! It’s the perfect place to come after work to grab a beer, they just added over 52 different beers on tap. Their food is also great, I have never been disappointed and I get something new every time. They do have the best waffle fries, and their pizza is good as well. Service is always on point, friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend coming in to check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Had a great lunch today, voted best fish and chips in macomb county I see why. Very reasonable prices. I have had the pizza before on special and I can’t believe how cheap it is for dine in. It’s as good as any pizza around. Great sauce and cheese with a crunchy crust just the way I like it. It’s clean and the service was good with a friendly mixed mature crowd. They have over 60 new Craft beers coming soon unbelievable! Can’t wait. Shelby is a great value I recommend it.

Love, Love, Love their burgers!!! No where else around can you get that «char» taste. Now the pizza has been a different story for us. For the past 5 weeks, we have struggled to get a pizza that wasn’t raw and doughy… we even witnessed our last visit (yesterday) of a couple waiting for their pizza to see how theirs was cooked before we ordered ours. Theirs came under cooked as well… that’s when I knew it wasn’t just us. So we put in our order and we told them we would like the same but more cooked… Nope…raw pizza… one night we decided to say well done… we received a burnt pizza… I will continue to come here for their burgers, but as far as their pizza and as their menu says «it’s what we are known for» ummm Buddy’s and Shield’s are 10 minutes from this place and are not under cooked. We’ve been to this place the past 5 Wednesday’s and ⁴⁄₅ we only ate it because we didn’t want to stiff the bartender… it’s not her fault the kitchen gave us a raw pizza. I give this place 3 stars for their regulars, Keno players and burgers… but don’t say your pizza is what you are known for and serve ⁴⁄₅ trips a raw pie…

Came here to meet up with a friend whom I haven’t seen in a while. Neither of us are from MI or have heard of this place, but decided to check it out solely because of the other Unilocal reviews, and so glad that we did!
Staff was friendly and extremely efficient. Food was delicious! We ordered chicken nachos as an app, and they were incredible! I got a plain cheese burger with nothing but sautéed onions, and a side of seasoned fries. Both were outstanding. It usually takes a lot for a burger to impress me, but this one did it. As plain as I ordered it, it was juicy and extremely flavorful. As for the fries, I don’t think I left one on my plate. Ordered a glass of Moscato, yum! Def check this place out! Cannot wait to bring my husband here!

I was really impressed tonight. The service was spot on everything, they had a great selection of food NOT just bar food. I had a grilled chicken, which was spicy, with a baked potato, and vegetables. The fried pickle appetizer was DELISH! To make things even better on a night when the wings were playing, after the game ended it was kareoke! Which is my favorite! Keep up the good work!

A fantastic hole in the wall, neighborhood bar. I don’t live immediately in this area any more, but I love coming here!
Under it’s previous name, The Gathering Place, it was stuffy, stuck in the late 60’s with it’s décor and super divey, but with killer pizza. After the renovation and name change, they’ve knocked down some walls, opened the place up and it’s no longer a dive… For the most part. It’s actually really nice in here now without all of the stucco and carpet. The new placement of the bar REALLY opened up the dining are too.
There’s a bunch of TVs, so it’s a nice place to take in some pizza with a Wings game, and the service is usually pretty good, although it tends to be a bit slow. Their beer selection is also decent; although most of their non BMC offerings are in bottles/​cans, rather than on tap, but that’s OK. Sometimes it’s just nice to get a 32 oz PBR for $ 2.50 anyway…
The food is mostly «bar» food, but you don’t need to have anything other than the pizza. Yes, the pizza is fantastic, original, Detroit Style deep dish pizza. This is similar to what Cloverleaf used to be like, but more consistent, and it’s never been raw or undercooked.
I really do wish that I loved as close to this place as I once did. It really is a nice spot to hang out for the night and gorge on pizza and beer, if you’re into that kind of thing.

The pizza is great, service is friendly. A great local place to watch a game and unwind.

Great little place, been going here for years. Great food, the Pizza is top notch. If your looking for a quality meal and over all good experience, this is a must.

Go somewhere else. Food is mediocre. Apparently Italian dressing means Ranch to the kitchen staff. My chicken caesar wrap was good. Their seasoned french fries are bad and you would get more in a medium french fry at a fast food joint. What was most disappointing was the service. Our waitress, while very service oriented was very busy and still managed to bring us refills on water and pop without asking. However, they clearly need to hire a couple more waitresses to take care of the busy dinner rush. I would save my time and go somewhere else. However, this review is based on the restaurant and not the bar.

Sometimes the service can be hit or miss, but the pizza is great! Detroit deep dish at its best.
Their nachos are great as well. They load up chips with veggies and cheese, and finish them off in the oven!
Fish and chips are a great choice a well.
A few years ago they renovated the place and it looks great! HD TVs all over, pool table, darts, club keno, and internet jukebox.
Their beer selection has greatly improved over the years. Lots of craft beer choices, and when you are feeling a little WT, $ 2– 23oz PBR!

Great food. But the service sucks! The waitress never came to the table we had to wave her down to get her to come to the table. The place wasn’t even busy. Very disappointed in the help.

My boyfriend and I went to this establishment with an entertainment coupon. The coupon was a buy one get one free up to 8.00 off. When we sat down and showed the waitress the coupon, the waitress stated that they just changed the policy and that it would require us to buy 2 drinks in order to be able to use the coupon. What??? Apparently, this policy just went into effect 2 weeks ago. I told them they should at least put a big sign on the door saying that the entertainment coupon has changed and requires that you buy two drinks. (Seriously, what is the point of the coupon then. what are you saving. like $ 5.00?). When I stated this to the Manager she said there was nothing she could do. Nothing she could do? Why punish the customer coming in? The stated that Entertainment company made a misprint in the Ad. Yet, according to the restaurant, they just changed this policy 2 weeks ago (It is now half way through the entertainment book year). Obviously if this was a huge issue they would have addressed it when the book first came out. Anyway, I would never come back here just so that this place can save $ 3.00 (2 drinks). How ridiculous!
