Well .I thought they at least deserved a 2nd chance, especially considering Ive been a Tubbys fan since 1974, store # 1 on Harper
But…1st time ordering in September epic failure, today craving a grilled mushroom steak & cheese with pizza sauce, I called ahead & pre-​ordered
Positive notes
The gal taking the order was nice.
The gal who eventually rang me up & out was also nice.
Negative views
at 4:33 on a Tuesday out of whole wheat buns
no longer selling the Detroiter, even though signs are everywhere inside advertising it.
The sub was D+ in presentation, soggy. could not even pick it up, it had to be quartered.
1 tomato cut in two for the entire 12 inch sub
limited amount of steak, and less than 6 mushrooms

I never write reviews but my stomach ache from the order I just ate half of inspired me to write this. This place is TERRIBLE in every possible way. The restaurant was disgusting. No other customers but plenty of food on the floor and on the prep area from previous orders. Worst customer service – ordered online 30 minutes before I arrived and they had not even started the order. An apology for not being ready? Not even a smile. A thank you for spending $ 30 on subs? Keep dreaming. Can’t even put napkins in the bag for our 4 subs!
Worst of all: the food was gross. My family each got a sub and they were all just grease with no flavor. Chewy, slimy mushrooms out of the can, frozen broccoli, little or no sauce. I’m vegetarian and I found several pieces of chicken and steak from the other orders (hopefully not from the many random pieces on the counter).
Needless to say, won’t ever be back to this place!

Since I’ve been back, I’ve been getting my fill of Tubby’s when I can. I always remember them being the best subs in town, and to this day, I still mostly feel that way.
But, I’ve also noticed that some locations are better then others. Yes, they all have the same menu and cook the same food, but some are worse then others. I loved this one because it’s how it should be, and how I remember it.
The place was clean, and I was greeted immediately. The girls behind the counter were pleasant and took my order right away. My sub was delicious! I always get the steak and cheese, and this place made it right. No shortage on meat or dressing, and it was delicious all the way around.
Sadly, I cannot rave about all the Tubby’s in town. I know the two that are closest to me don’t make the subs as nice as these girls did. Clean location, good food, will be back when I’m on this side of town.
