Trouve – Upscale Resale

I’ve been shopping at Trouvé for years.
I’ll admit, I was intimidated by the young woman who mans the consignment desk-she’s beautiful-​but she’s been there as long as I’ve been shopping there, which to me shows responsibility & dedication.
She’s actually quite a sweetheart, asking after my kids, offering up the restroom if the fitting rooms are full.
Trouvé is so much more than resale shopping: it’s decorated prettily, smells lovely, has generous & private dressing rooms, wonderful sales, and good, trendy clothing. I seldom leave empty-​handed and have brought many friends to shop here as well.
I love shopping here because I know I’m getting quality items for a great price, in a fun boutique setting.

The visit was pleasant and the atmosphere is what you would see for a traditional thrift store. Nothing led me to believe that they had anything high end. Also, for those who may be interested, they did not have a plus size men’s area. The customers had to fish through each and every item and look for the small handwritten «BT» (for big and tall) labels for all items. Second Hand Rose is known for having clothes brand new, labels still affixed to the items, and have half off days more often. Just sayin’

Prices are relatively competitive.

After my grandmothers passing, my mother and I brought several of her outfits and three fur coats to be sold here, with the proceeds to be dedicated to the charity Turning Point. We were treated with a very dismissive attitude by the ladies at the front desk, which should have been our first clue that something wasn’t right. Reluctantly we agreed to have the furs and some of the outfits put on display to sell. After about a week, we hadn’t heard anything so we called to check if something had sold. We were told that one of the furs, a $ 5000 sheared beaver was sold for SIXTY DOLLARS. After their 50% commission, we were left with $ 30 for my grandmas charity. Mind you, when we brought the furs to their store, we TOLD the lady at the front desk that we had brought with us the original tags AND receipt to the fur, and she refused to even look at them. The whole point of bringing them to this store was to raise money for the charity! If they were going to sell it for $ 60 we would have KEPT the fur! My mother was devastated, so my aunt visited the store and PRESSED them to produce the so called receipt to the sale. Which they then ‘found’ It was at that point that the employee admitted that one of their own had «bought» the fur. In other words, it was never even displayed?!? So basically, they stole this fur. Thankfully we were able to retrieve the rest of the furs before they were «sold» (stolen) as well. The employees here are dishonest and thieves. It makes you wonder what kind of person is operating this place. We are now considering legal action.

terrible, the employee at this store treated me and my daughter like criminals. she thought took a handbag and stole it. how dare she? i believe she was profiling me cause of my ethnicity. i would never shop here ever! the lady was so rude to begin with and then she accused of taking a purse, awful! i told her to frisk me and check her security cameras. i am an upstanding citizen and i would never steal anything! she immediately accused me without any evidence! i even helped look for this handbag for several minutes. i’m sure another customer took it and possibly left it in the fitting room or maybe was holding on to it before checking out. not only the employees are rude the items in the store are older than what they say like older then 5 years and over priced!
