A wonderful day of apple picking! This place is an absolute gem and perfect for a family or friend outing. Firstly, the views are absolutely breathtaking. Possibly the best vantage points in the area! There is a country store that sells freshly picked apples, honey, and my personal favorite, fresh cider doughnuts… The staff is extremely friendly and will help drive you to the ripe apples and tell you how to pick. We ended up with 4lbs of Macintosh apples and made an amazing apple crisp on the grill later that day. Will certainly be back when in town!

This is a great place to pick apples. The grounds are spectacular and the apples are so good. I always end up picking way more than I need and then being thankful that I did. They have an excellent variety of apples and they do a great job of handling a crowd. The tractor ride is time well spent.

One of my favorite places in the world! The orchards are well taken care of, and large enough that even if it looks busy you’ll be able to find your own little section to seclude yourself and pick happily. The farm stand has cider, donuts and other treats too, but there’s often wasps hanging out, and I don’t care for that(but I understand and appreciate them not trying to spray for wasps or something along those lines). There’s a play area for kids as well. Apples are reasonably priced. One year that we went, there was a poor crop due to weather and it was a little expensive, but it’s usually 1 – 2 $/lb, variety depending.

Although we showed up just 10 minutes from closing time, the manager/stand attendant permitted us to pick a full 4 quarts of sour cherries. The berries aren’t cheap, but the ripeness and juicy factors are obvious, and we cannot wait to get going on jam, tonight!

Amazing place to Apple pick with most varieties running $ 1 per pound. I picked great Honey Crisps for $ 2 a pound(plus any apples you pick up off the ground are half price.) It’s a perfect family outing. The little shop has wonderful apple cider and cider donuts. Basically eat anything they sell with apples in it. They take credit cards too. There is a café open weekends with additional food(nothing fancy, stick to things with apples in them).

Shelburne Orchards is a great place to try your hand at apple picking. They have a large variety of apples to choose from including Gala, Cortland, Red Delicious, and McIntosh. They charge by weight($ 1 per pound), but it’s really by different sized bags. The smallest is $ 5 and the largest is up to $ 20. It’s relatively cheap because I know I overstuffed my small bag and had more than five pounds worth of apples, but they still charge just $ 5. As for the actual orchard, most of the trees are dwarf trees for easy access picking, but there are some that you could climb to grab the more pristine apples higher up. It was my first time and I had no idea what I was doing so I relied on instinct. I pick based on size, lack of any bruises, and how easy they were to pick off the branch. The orchard also has a café and general store to buy apples and other apple supplies and accessories. Cider donuts are plentiful, but they didn’t look too appetizing as they were covered with swarming wasps. At $ 1 each, I think your money is better spent on picking more apples. They also sell a larger variety at the store such as Honey Crisps at $ 2.50 per pound. Overall, a great trip to make if you’re here during the right season.

Went here after the tour guide at Lake Champlain Chocolates mentioned picking apples here. What a great place. You can pick your own apples or stop by for apple cider or apple cider donuts. I went on a weekday so sadly the café wasn’t open. Would’ve love to have a slice of apple pie(they were only selling whole pies at the time). We bought a big apple and a couple of apple cider donuts. The donuts were tasty and the apple went great with the waffles we made the next morning.

This place is fantastic! I went apple picking here and it was the greatest East Coast experience! There were families and friends out here picking so many delicious apples from their abundance of trees. We drove into the farms, got a bag and then filled it up with several types of fresh apples. We paid for it at their market where there was fresh apple pie, apple cider donuts, apple cider and vinegar. Everything apple! I tried the apple Betty! It was amazing– so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend coming here during apple picking season to give this place a try. You will be able to make some great apple foods with all of the apples you picked here at Shelburne Orchards!
