Very impressed. I had breakfast. The service was great, the food was delicious. The dishes are well thought out and every bit of my meal was tasty. Check out their menu. I would say it is on the expensive side, but certainly not a ripoff. I will be back.

Limited seating… which is a plus! The most amazing risotto I have ever had. Popovers are with the visit themselves. Dining partner had the lamb. Says it was Delicious. Service was wonderful, very helpful with any questions about the menu. Go here for a special occasion or if you just want to feel special.

We have been eating here for over a year and just love it. Ashley, the manager is always there to make sure you have a great experience and all of the waitstaff are superb. Breakfast is a major treat with mixed selections of egg dishes, pancakes, popovers all with varied flavors and generous portions and incredibly yummy. Their Bloody Mary is awesome and your coffee mug us never empty. Dinners are also great with super fresh ingredients and really fun combinations of spices, flavors and always a lovely presentation. Make sure you have a reservation. The dining area is not large and they can get very busy but absolutely worth visiting — repeatedly!!!

Loved this spot, tucked away in Shelburne village, really worth a trip out there for breakfast. We went there after going for a walk at Shelburne Farms and were hungry afterwards, went for lunch and loved the inside, very cosy, friendly service and the food was excellent. Our daughter had the grilled cheese on thick slices of bread, my wife had a tasty curried squash soup and I had an excellent ham and cheese quiche with crispy home fries. The star though was the wilted kale salad with a bacon vinaigrette. Delicious and the ambiance was lovely. Will definitely head back out for the breakfast which was served all day and tempted us though we did opt for the lunch.

Had an awesome lunch at this cozy spot. Fresh ingredients and an innovative menu for a very reasonable price. $ 55 for an appetizer two entrees and a cocktail and two beers! House made chips are a must. All day breakfast and friendly staff make this place a must try if you’re bumming around Shelburne.

The root salad and pumpkin soup was just the best I have had in a long time! The restaurant sign says«craft eatery» which best describes the quality of their ingredients and creativity. The Rustic Roots is beautifully decorated in a rustic country style with friendly staff. Close to the Shelburn Museum, it’s worth getting out of the grounds to eat here. Too bad this place is only for breakfast and lunch. Outstanding place!

Nice cozy restaurant. I nearly walked passes since its located inside of a house. Very well decorated and the meal was good. I had risotto my husband had pork. Apps were good! Had cold gaspacho and home made potato chips. Only complaint was no air con or fan system. It gets warm in there without it

The food here feels different than anywhere else … re-imagined … and delicious! If you have a chance, try the house-made marmalade, it’s amazing and I wish they sold jars of it at their tent at the shelburne saturday farmers market! Their breakfast potatoes are awesome(but be warned — they have bacon in them, which I don’t think is mentioned on the menu, so in case you’re vegetarian or kosher be careful). The popovers are light and airy, the butter is herbed(wow!), the bread is fresh and homemade, the meat components are very unique, and the crepes are amazing too. I have such a hard time trying new things because I love my «standards» but everything I’ve tried has been great so far! Also the staff is very friendly and nice!

We stopped here for breakfast during our trip to Burlington and it did not disappoint! The décor was cute and homey-feeling. They also noted all the small details– separate dish for cream, sugar, and coffee. The waitstaff was very friendly! I had a baked blueberry lemon pancake that was as big as my head and very delicious.

I came here for brunch and started with the Warm Kale and Bacon salad(phenomenal!), and had the Shirred Eggs for my meal. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff working are very welcoming, and the place is small, but comfortable. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back!

Finally stopped in here for a sit down meal after doing take out lunches for almost a year — and talk about worth it! The service was fabulous and worth the extra time to just sit and enjoy. Of course great company always makes things seem brighter, but the experience was entirely fabulous from start to end. We arrived for brunch around noon and were able to be seated immediately; it looked like we had narrowly caught the tail end of a brunch rush so maybe call ahead or plan to wait since the dining area has limited seating. The interior, as the name conjures, is totally rustic themed — lots of exposed and weathered wood(tables, chairs, walls, ceilings, bar counter). They feature a local artist on a rotating basis and always have work for sale(postcards, pottery, and prints). The food is tastefully crafted and artfully presented — local and fresh. In the past I have always gotten the seasonal sandwich(pumpkin croquette was my favorite so far) but today I went with the namesake ‘rustic breakfast’ and a well crafted iced coffee. Eggs(over-easy) were cooked to perfection, popover marmalade was absolutely out of this world(and filling — so come hungry!). My friend ordered the eggplant & hummus wrap — also rave-worthy. Rustic Roots primarily does breakfast & lunch — and is now open for dinner select nights in the week. Charming and cozy, this is a delightful stop. I will most definitely be back to sample dinner fare.

Loved the food and the Bloody Mary. It was the first time trying coffee bacon, not a fan, but then again I don’t like coffee. The food presentation was fantastic and the food farm fresh. The popovers are mind blowing and just writing about it now is making me want to drive the 7 hours it would take me to get there to have them again! Service was fantastic.

Called ahead and were able to make a reservation for dinner on a Friday. Upon arrival the hostess and owner were more than accommodating and let us sit at a table of our choosing. We decided we wanted to mingle and sat at the bar. After ordering drinks the menu was explained to us and we decided on the 3 course meal complete with popovers. The appetizers were great and between the two of us, we got 4 small plates and shared. All of the dishes were delicious and my favorite was the truffle popcorn. Highly recommend getting a bag and putting it in your purse for a movie later. My husband ordered the pork chops and I ordered the chicken off of their October menu. Both were cooked perfectly and were well balanced plates. Deserts and drinks also had a high attention to detail. This place was a great find while on our honeymoon. The staff are happy that you are there and are passionate about their food and it shows. We can’t wait to be back.

Stopped in for lunch today & had a really great experience. I got the special strawberry basil iced tea and summer fruit salad with smoked chicken. The salad had incredibly fresh ingredients and an amazingly tasty obviously homemade raspberry chia dressing. The atmosphere is very chill and the staff is pleasant & attentive. I would definitely come back!
