I HATEMETROCARDS&NOMORETOKENS, ALMOSTNOMOREMANNEDBOOTHSTOHELPYOU. WHERECANYOUGET A MAPORDIRECTION… WHEREARETHEHUMAN’S, WHEREARETHECOPS. STILLFILTHY&OLD after 20 – 40 years since I grew up here…& hated it. None too fancy, none too dirty ordinary station. (Note: Kings Hwy. is better, if you have a choice) Very quiet at night, only person at station for awhile at 10PM. Kind of felt a bit nervous. Q Train, former D or M used to run here, back in the day Out of the way local station about 12 block from my family’s house on Ave. X &27th… so quite a long cold walk, with almost no one around. Note: along Ave. X &28th is a stop for the special express bus BM3 that goes from Midtown Manhattan to Bklyn & back, doing mostly main rush hrs., very fast at just over one hour. Far better than a Taxi at $ 60+. 3 block from the Hyatt Lex 48! if you need to go to Brooklyn(there is also BM1,2,4 I believe). Fare is higher. BTW– Yellow Taxi’s in NYC has a legally mandated set fee from JFK to anywhere in Manhattan(& back) for $ 52! To bad it does not apply to the boroughs, nor Brooklyn. There is no easy way besides cab to go from JFK to Sheephead Bay or the surrounding areas. All subways only head toward downtown Bklyn or lower Manhattan. Almost got ruined over crossing legally across the street on the way… but what else is new in Brooklyn. Kind of a goofy bunch of youngsters on the train, on a Friday night, probably going to Manhattan to party. Some gangster looking types boarded later. Must keep vigilant here!

It’s located outside so you get cell reception. Located in a decent part of Brooklyn but only the Q train takes you here so keep that in mind. Actually a nice station & didn’t see sketchiness here.
