This place was the most pleasant surprise. Wife and I are camping at KohlerAndrea and it was raining. Decided on a fish fry and googled. Al&Al’s came up 4th or 5th but was listed as German. Decided to try. Walked in and the place was fantastic. German décor AND live music. I ended up ordering the sampler platter, wife bacon wrapped scallops. Both were excellent. Dinners included soup and salad bars, and my dinner came with red cabbage and potato pancakes. Service was also terrific! Wife and I would travel back up just for dinner, and we live in Kenosha! Would highly recommend this place to everyone.

A German experience in Sheboygan. Friday fish fry with your choice of Perch or Cod. Great beer selection and polkas on the accordion. How can you go wrong? I have September 30th on my calendar for their Octoberfest street fair. I was told Scott Walker tapped the first barrel last year.

Talk about your old school German restaurant. Found this place on Unilocal while visiting Sheboygan, and man, am I glad to have checked it out. First thing to hit you when you walk in the door, is that of being transplanted back into the 70’s. Wood panel walls, tables with the thick leather backed chairs. Oh, and the dude with the accordion busting out the Polka! I actually laughed when I first walked in, because it was so awesome! Menu is full of traditional German fare. Beer menu is a bit limited, but I did find a great Dopplebock to have during my meal. Food was outstanding. Service was friendly. We were the youngest people in there though, by 25 years, easy. Take it for what it is. Best German food I have had in that area!

Good old fashioned food. This place is old school but wow what a great salad bar! You don’t get homemade food like this anywhere! Owner is so friendly and wait staff is great. They have polka on Friday nights. It is a cultural experience. Oktoberfest here is one of the best in the state! Love this place! Hint to management homemade deserts please?

Good German food and great atmosphere! The regulars were there dancing to live polka music, which was fun to watch. The salad bar was good with at least 10 different salads. My husband had a steak that was cooked perfectly. I had some great German good. The only thing they should add is dumplings as a side.

Wonderful German food and atmosphere! Turley authentic. Live music and polkas on Friday nights, all the rouladen, schnitzel, and streudel you can eat! Be sure to also go to their annual Oktoberfest, the first weekend in October for all the polkas, beer and food you can handle. Overall, fabulous experiences here.

Good German food, attentive friendly staff that went out of their way to accommodate me when I arrived a half hour before the official opening of the kitchen for Octoberfest. This year was their inaugural wiener dog race – not to be missed next year! Reasonable prices for the tasty German ‘supper club’ dinners and tavern sandwiches.

Al & Al’s is the real deal… the kind of friendly little neighborhood supper club you would have found back in the 60’s but which seem to have pretty much vanished. Since we don’t live in Sheboygan we’ve only eaten here twice, having discovered it on a summer trip thanks to a BOGO coupon from the local visitor center. I’m always looking for authentic Sauerbraten like grandma used to make and(sorry Grandma) I think Al & Al’s is even better. They offer lunch on the bar side during the day, and that’s a smaller(but still hearty) portion. We returned for dinner two months later(again courtesy of a coupon, this time a postcard for a free birthday dinner since we had signed up for their frequent diner club.) The dinner included soup and salad bar, and all the salads were freshly made and delicious. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s out of the main harbor/downtown/tourist area, south of the river, so you have to seek it out, but the fact that they’ve been in business so long despite the location speaks volumes for the quality of the food.

Al & Al’s is one of the best kept secrets in Sheboygan. It has a reputation of being a hall for group meetings and after funeral dinners, but it has great food for regualr dinners. The décor is old style supper club — U shaped bar and low lighting. The salad/soup bar is also classic supper club — 3 bean salad, pickled beets and several pasta salads. The grilled shrimp are wonderful — firm and flavorfull. Broasted pork chops are juicy and tasty, not to mention easy on the wallet — around $ 11 for 2 large chops, soup/salad bar and potatoe choice. If you order a large cut of prime rib or the Tiger Prawn special — the prices are a little higher but still a betetr deal than other local places.
