Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse of Shawnee

Do, I prefer Home Depot over Lowes, yes. Here’s why…
It took wayyyy too long to get some assistance with refrigerators. At least 3 workers waked past us without offering any assistance. Finally! I was able to track someone down. She promised to send someone back and they never came. At this point, we got the hint. You don’t want our business. Gotcha. Noted! So, we’re leaving and then, we’re offered some help. People should really learn to multi task. Apparently, he was helping someone else but, that’s no excuse. The situation could have been handled much different. The lack of customer service seems normal after a few trips here.
Besides, they make buying a refrigerator more complicated than it should be. First off, there selection is much smaller compared to Home Depot and lastly, put the freakin specifications on the tag to help the customer determine whether or not it’s the right choice for them. Home Depot does :)

It’s a consistent big box hardware store. I’ve never had any bad experiences at this location. I go here and the competitor across the street. I really don’t have a particular preference. It usually has to do with which side of Shawnee Mission Pkwy I’m on at the time. I try and go to the smaller hardware stores as much as I can, but they just can’t carry everything the mega stores can.

It’s the Walmart of Hardware stores. It is consistent, fairly reliable, convenient. The one thing I don’t like is they hate to open up registers and it can take some time to pay for your crap and get out.

For the past 8 years of home ownership we have used Lowes in Topeka. I wish they would have frustrated me sooner, so I could have found the Shawnee store earlier.
Jeb with install services was outstanding! Prompt and thorough. We had a deck, fencing, and windows installed. The deck installers were professional and the fence and window installs will take place Friday… I have no doubts the experience will be just as phenomenal!

By far, this is my favorite Lowe’s. They seem so much more helpful here, plus it’s a little off the beaten path, so doesn’t get as packed as some other locations.

DO NOT do special orders with this Lowes! I’ve had multiple special orders with them and have had problems with the orders 90% of the time. I must be insane to keep coming back!

The staff at this location always seems to be able to help me no matter what I need from them, whether it is to return an item or find an item. I also like that they offer a military discount all the time and not just on Veterans Day. I can only guess that other locations are as friendly and helpful as this location.
