This is a great local restaurant and the food is fantastic. However the female owner is extremely mean to her staff and I always feel sorry for them.

Not a bad place for lunch it is small and gets busy but worth it. Prices are decent. Haven’t really bought anything from the meat market side yet

This place is in a strange location since its more residential and in an old warehouse type building. So need to ask for directions to find. It’s very close to big Catholic Church. This is a great restaurant and meat market. Don’t miss out on a wonderful meal and delicious non alcoholic grape drink. It’s usually very busy at lunch so better to go after lunch crowd. I think they are only open for lunch but check hours. Everything is good so won’t recommend a certain thing but their hot cookies with melting whip cream are yummy for dessert. They often have espresso cups and self serve coffee complimentary with meal which is a treat! Service can be slow when busy and kind of crazy but worth it! They also don’t bring bill to tables, you go up and tell them you are ready to pay and they have bill there. Enjoy and don’t miss this Shawnee treasure. My daughter, niece and nephew went to college in this town and it was and still is their favorite place to eat here. I’m going to visit my daughter who lives in Shawnee now and will make sure she takes me to Benedict Street Café!
