During our visit to Destin we Checked in at NewYears Eve 2016, we found a BEDBUG in our room and the front desk tried to help us, but the manager refused to transfer us to another Marriott and just refunded us our money and we were kicked out at 1:30 am with no where to go!!! I even took a picture of the bedbug… Please avoid this hotel

Great place to stay. Quite and comfortable. I stay here every time I have to come to Ft. Walton on business. Rooms are nice and upgraded. Never had a problem.

Basic hotel, great staff and service. Like the number of cardio machines in exercises room.

Only stayed here for 2 nights, but the beds were super comfy and the bathroom was pretty nice. The free breakfast wasn’t as elaborate as some, but there were quite a few choices, including lots of kinds of juice to choose from, which was nice. The price was a little higher that I would have liked, but given that we stayed on a weekend during tourist season, you could do much worse. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would stay again.

Update: there’s just no getting around the fact that you have a 50⁄50 chance of getting a room that overlooks the bar next door, which means the local yokels can keep you up past your bedtime with their incessant cornhole-playing on a Wednesday night. Paper-thin walls, but at least there’s a bar next door. My first-floor king room was pretty much a bed and a desk and enough room to walk between them, but my coworker assured me that his fourth-floor executive suite was fairly impressive. Still, if he’d had the phlegm-hocking hackers next door that I had, I bet he’d have heard way too much of them for comfort.

My Grandparents live a couple minutes away from this place and for the past couple years as my Grandmother’s health declined and we sadly lost her on Labor Day, this hotel has become kind of a second home for my family. My parents were staying here every 3 months or so and I’ve stayed here twice. Usually I travel with my dog but since this place isn’t pet-friendly, I wasn’t able to stay here when she was with me. It’s a nice and clean hotel with VERY comfortable beds. They have a pretty impressive breakfast spread every morning and my parents have gotten to know Maxine who I believe is in charge of a good portion of that operation. They have do it yourself waffle makers, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, various toastable breads, fruit, microwavable breakfast sandwiches, tea etc… It took me awhile to get the hang of the waffle iron but my usual breakfast is raisin toast, a waffle and a hard boiled egg. They also have this juice dispenser machine that has various flavors of juice. There’s a mango/papaya(or something like that) variety that is quite tasty! We were also told that pilots flying in and out of the nearby airport stay there and would see them hanging out in the lobby from time to time. The free cookies were a very nice touch and they were very delicious. I took like 3 of them. I was in mourning, forgive me! I imagine we’ll continue to visit with frequency to visit my Grandpa and as long as we are traveling sans pets, this is where we will stay. The location is beyond perfect for us.

I spent two weeks here. For the most part, service was good. Some days housekeeping didn’t replace my towels or bathmat and twice they left sheets laying on my table. Not sure if they were going to change my sheets and forgot. Most of the front desk staff is friendly, but some not so much. Breakfast was what I come to expect from Fairfield. Waffles, Jimmy Dean sandwiches(ATTN Food Orderer: there are different types of Jimmy Dean sandwiches. How about switching up once in a while?), fruit, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, etc. I wondered one night why road noise was a problem until I saw that my window wouldn’t lock and wasn’t closed properly. Daniela is a cutie. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

I didn’t experience much of the services at this hotel since I was only there for one evening and morning, but overall it seemed fine. The room was newish and clean, although the HVAC was very loud in the room. My only real complaint was the horrible(and fairly expensive) breakfast. This peeves me since breakfast is an easy meal to get right and they botched it. I would have been less critical if it was included with the room price but it definitely wasn’t. If you do decide to stay here just go a block up the road to the waffle house.

This hotel was everything that I have come to expect from a Fairfield Inn, the customer service here is excellent. We had a problem with the heating unit in our room when we arrived and the staff were very attentive in getting it fixed for us. Another reason I like Fairfield Inn’s…free cookies! Every afternoon they set a tray out, it’s a nice little touch. This hotel is actually located in Shalimar, FL… I’ve seen it listed as being in Fort Walton Beach in some places(not on Unilocal though). They have free Wi-Fi here and that’s always nice since so many places charge for it nowadays. They also have a very good buffet breakfast in the mornings although it seems to differ a little by location. I was just at a Fairfield Inn in Alexandria, VA not too long ago and they had a wider selection of food than this Fairfield Inn although I’m not complaining since I didn’t have to pay for it. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area also. This is a nice play to stay when you are passing through this part of Florida.

So this was my first time to Ft. Walton Beach on business. I did a search of hotels and saw that this one was just built in 2006. I also happen to be a fan of Marriott hotels because they are usually clean and well kept. So this hotel was no surprise. It is clean and the staff is friendly. The only thing negative I have to say is I am towards the back of the hotel facing a residential neighborhood and they must have been having some sort of party last night because I could hear them. I would think Marriott would have put in thicker glass to make it more sound proof. Wish me luck tonight. Breakfast is also complimentary with your stay.
