We tried to eat at Shy’s twice. The first time, no one ever came to our table to take our order. They were really busy and we decided to just come back. Second time, we ordered biscuits and gravy and then 10 minutes later another group came in who the waitress knew. They sat at the table behind us and ordered the same thing we did. About 20 minutes later we hear one of the cooks say ‘that ticket got the last of the biscuits’. We felt lucky until we saw it delivered to the table behind us. The waitress still didn’t bother to come tell us we had to pick something else for another five minutes. We said ‘nope’ and left. There will not be a third attempt by us to eat at Shy’s.

I had never been to this place before, I recently moved here. I was discovering the local eaterys. I wish I hadn’t tried this place. The pork chops I ordered were absolutely horrible. They were 1⁄8 of an inch thick and tasted like they had been in the freezer for a year. They also tasted of lower quality meat. When I asked the waitress to either refund or replace it she said I had waited to long. It was not my fault she never checked on us after we got our food and the next time I spoke with her was when I went to pay. I did not eat the pork chops and there was no reason for not fixing it. I will be going back to speak with the owner. I took the pork chop ands plenty of pictures. I hope they want them back!

I love Shys. Great local spot with a fun staff. Inexpensive American fare with large portions. Don’t go by there when they are busy, unless you have time too wait, though.

the breakfasts are gigantic! And really really tasty! The prices here are very fair and the service was good. The one reason we stopped here is that is was near the rafting place we were using for the day… it certainly looked like a hole in the wall! But this is the best kind of hometown, down to earth, great place. So glad we found it!

It was ok when I ate here seemed like they depend on a lot of frozen food and the use of there microwave. Very bland tasting food… the restaurant looks a lot run down and had a funny smell to it when I entered the place

Was looking for good breakfast food and came across this place. The food was really greasy but portions were nice sized. Was really shocked about the waitress cussing like a sailor loudly, while talking to customers. Also kissing every guy on the lips in there was kind of a shocker, never seen that in a restaurant before.

This home town restaurant is like grandma’s house. I had the linguisa and eggs. Very yummy. The coffee was strong and the waitress friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Very friendly, good coffee, excellent portion. A prototypical diner, standard fare, but tasty. Had plenty of seating, both tables and a counter, and on a Sunday was pretty full. Service was neither slow or fast, and my coffee cup was filled three times without having to ask. Had the pancake special, 1 egg, two bacon, one pancake for $ 5.95. Bacon was thick, slightly crispy, greasy and delicious. The pancake was good sized, and the egg was a good medium. Good sized meal that filled me well.

Was looking for a place for a light, early breakfast when I walked into Shy’s café. The waitress said breakfast was offered all day, so why not? The Denver omelet is deceiving. It came out on a large plate with a huge helping of hash browns and a biscuit the size of an adults closed fist. The egg for the omelet was only slightly thicker than a crêpe, which I thought was impressive considering the omelet itself was the size of a burrito. I was a little disappointed, no veggies or salsa on top like most places. That’s because it’s stuffed full of everything. Really. Big cubes of ham, bell peppers and oozing cheese. Waitress was friendly, service was great, food was wonderful.

Returning from an RV trip, we stopped in Shady Cove for gas and across the street was Shy’s Café & Lounge. The attendant told us the food was pretty good and Unilocal reviews were mixed so we decided to give it a try. Not very attractive from the outside and very ‘dated’ inside, but the waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered from the breakfast menu, received huge portions and my husband I both enjoyed our breakfast very much. One of those ‘hidden’ jewels!

When Two Pines closed we looked for another restaurant in Shady Cove and decided to try Shy’s since it has been in business for many years. We got typical café food. The sandwiches are good and the breakfasts are better. The building is not attractive so I doubt many tourists stop here but it is popular with the local folks. The middle-aged waitresses are characters as other reviewers mentioned.

My father took us to Shy’s for breakfast when we visited(and again for lunch the next day and breakfast again the following day). He introduced us to our server, Sheila… what a gem! She is funny and witty AND truly cares about all of her clients. Rob is also great… always attentive and happy to help. Even when the restaurant is PACKED their quality service is always fantastic. I’m happy to wait for great food and even better service. By the way, the bacon is OUTOFTHISWORLD!!! Would buy it by the case if I could!

Absolutely love this place. Service can be a bit slow but their french toast and bacon is worth it. Some of the most fun servers and waitresses ever, we love Sheila. We always go here when were in town! Definitely recommend!

Popular diner for the locals. There was a good-sized crowd when we dropped in for lunch on the way to Crater Lake. The place shows its age. Personable waitress, but we had to wait a long time for our meal. The food was«good.» Price was average.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Klamath Falls from our motel near rogue river. It’s a cute little place where you can get a cheap meal. Stop in when you are in town.
