Great park in remote at near I39 and I88. There are a bunch of trails. You can also rent small fishing boats and various size pontoons for under 200 $ for 4hours. Lake is calm since there is no swimming and you can only go like 10 mph. Be careful of seaweed. Shop has alcohol and bait so no need to stock up, But I did wonder maybe we would have caught more not getting their bait since the fish are so used to the flavor. There is also a restaurant. Hours vary. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

We live in Shabbona so this park is nice and close to home for us but that’s not the only reason I love it! It’s a well kept, nice, clean park to spend a day or afternoon. Fishing is good and there’s lots to see and do from hiking, biking, camping, relaxing or just enjoying the sights.
