uhmm, good food. the itallian beefs are pretty darn good. do not go on your lunch if you have to be out in less than an hour. it takes them FOREVER to cook. and every time I’ve gone I’ve had to literally get up and tell them my food was ready sitting in the window for like 15 minutes.

Great food, good prices. We stopped in on a whim and were impressed. Handmade Ozark crafts give the place a campy kinda feel, but the food is good home cooked fare.

Ordered fried chicken it was ok but the sides were just bad. Ordered fries they had freezer burn n the corn on the cob was dry n burnt. It took a longtime to get the order on the table.

Worst Italian Beef sandwich ever! Wow! If you want to pay $ 10 for processed, textured beef product on a 6″ roll, then this is the place for you. Located just off the highway, Uncle Roosters draws in travelers with the giant rooster out front and suckers like me by advertising Vienna Beef products, But they must mean just the hot dogs, because I lived in Chicago 40 years and not only wasn’t this Vienna Beef, it wasn’t any sort of real roast beef whatsoever. Real beef doesn’t come with perfectly formed, rounded edges and in perfectly uniform slices. If that isn’t enough of a clue for you, the bland taste and funky texture are a dead give-away. The giardiniera peppers were so old they were mushy and had lost all their heat and flavor. All you could taste was sour vinegar.

If you don’t mind waiting an hour for a hot dog and a cup of soup, this might be the place for you. We gave up after flagging down a server, placing out order and hearing crickets for 25 minutes. A lady in the parking lot told us her food took an hour. Glad we didn’t wait.

There are not many good southern places around the area. Their fried chicken is as good as it gets outside of Pittsburgh, KS. The fried chicken is cooked to perfection with a great crispy outside but a not too greasy but juicy inside. Their fried corn on the cob is awesome. Their mash potatoes are homemade and the gravy is perfect. The staff are very friendly and ready to serve you. This place reminds you of the great little places of yesteryear before chains tried to ruin the world.

I have only been here twice but every time the staff is always so friendly! The food is really good and you ever to write your name on their floor the first time you eat here. I think that is a pretty neat idea. The floors are covered with all the different people that have been through there. They also have some neat kids choices and kool aid for them as well which is nice for a change.

Hubby and I stopped here for lunch while we were headed to Wichita. While the place was/is memorable for the atmosphere and the Amish items for sale, the food isn’t; I can’t remember what I had to eat – probably chicken fingers/planks. I love the giant rooster out front, and there were many items for sale across the front of the store — no room in the truck for the planter, though!

Uncle Rooster’s far exceeded my expectations for a little old style restaurant. The food was excellent. I had a pulled pork sandwich, a heaping pile of BBQ beans, and a big pile of coleslaw for around 6 bucks. The quality of the food FAR outstripped the price. They also have onion batter dipped and fried green beans that are just mouthwatering. I’ll take these over onion rings ANY day. They are amazing! The wait staff was extremely pleasant, and courteous, even doing magic tricks for my 5 year old as we waited for our food. We were checked on by several people, and all of them were very kind. Our drinks were refilled promptly when they reached half way. The portions were generous too. I will make SURE any time I’m back in Seymour I drop in here for a meal. This place is WELL worth it!(Oh! And don’t forget to sign your name on the floor when you come by!)

Uncle Roosters is a great place to get a good meal and great service! My family and I stopped in for dinner last night and were treated with great service! The two ladies who waited on us(after hours even) were very friendly and made our dining experience one to remember. I highly recommend this restaurant! P. S. The beef and cheese sandwich is great and so is the carrot cake. Next time I will be trying the chicken as I hear it is great.
