This isn’t a bad course. There’s only a handful of interesting holes, but it’s pretty well maintained. It has the best practice facilities in the area(grass tees & a putting/chipping green). If you go during Twilight rates it usually isn’t very busy. The biggest problem Pitman Golf Course has is the staff. They just don’t do anything. Half the time I have to get my own range balls. No one enforces pace of play, and there’s been multiple times I’ve used the putting green(or tried to, anyway) and other people are playing *match play* on the putting green.

I’ll start by saying this is a well maintained municipal course. It’s not Augusta but you’re not paying for that here. For the price point(around $ 25 on golfnow), it is a well maintained course with generous practice area’s. Grass tees on the range, chipping & putting green. That being said… The staff and most of the clientele are upwards of 70 years old. Nothing against our senior citizens but if you’re below 65, you’d be a youngster. The staff moves slow and the pace of play is even slower. On my last round there, the group in front of me had a golfer with an oxygen tank! I am not lying… Besides the pace of play issue, this is short playable course. Greens, fairways, and bunkers are all in fairly decent shape. At $ 25 per round, they do what they can with their maintenance budget. There’s some interesting holes and a handful of boring straight away holes. If you don’t mind standing around a lot and playing a six hour round, then this is your place.

This course is convenient, but it is in terrible shape. The greens are good, but the weeds have taken over the fairways and the tee boxes need work. We played here twice. Once we were paired with a nice man and his newbie nephew. We had great fun with them. The 2nd time we went out for late twilight play, it was around 6:00. The options were pay for 9 holes or 18 holes. I paid for 9 because our experience everywhere else around the country is that twilight is, get in what you can. It was surprisingly slow this late in the day. We got in 9 and were going to go for one more, but as we walked onto the tee box the marshall came racing up to say we only paid for 9 so get off the course. Really? However, the restaurant has very good food. The burger really is the best I’ve had in quite a long time. I’d go back just for that.
