Great salsa and chips. I cannot believe the service! Great authentic feel and culture thriving throughout the building. Honestly the most outstanding meal ever

Stopped on a whim based on other Unilocal reviews, while driving cross country via I 80. Was not disappointed. All the food looked and tasted fabulous. The service was quick and friendly. on a Saturday night, prime time for dinner we were greeted and seated immediately. just awesome.

This is a great stop along I-80 that will get you out of the usual truck-stop grub. Tasty(and quite authentic for Nebraska) you can’t go wrong if you like Mexican. The charro beans are the way to go(includes bacon). The place sneaks up on you, it’s across the street from the Walmart. Yep, I know what you’re thinking, this town even has Walmart!

First of all gave it two stars instead of 3 because of the descriptions of the stars and fact that we probably won’t go back. We arrived at 6 on a Friday night. There were a good amount of people waiting for tables, they said the wait would be about 10 minutes, and he was dead on it did take about 10 minutes. While we were waiting we told the cashier/greeter/waiter/table cleaner that we would be at the bar. There were two people sitting there with drinks, we sat down and waited for someone to take our orders, and waited, and waited, and waited, no drinks today. About 5 different people walked behind the bar to do various tasks but no one asked us if they could help us with anything, pretty sure they didn’t have a bartender working, waiters were helping themselves. Then we, 4 adults were seated. Menus, were brought fairly quick followed by salsa and chips. The salsa and chips were OK, nothing special. The menu was CRAZY, had way to many items on it in my opinion, had a heck of a time figuring out what I wanted, that’s just me. Drinks and food did come out fairly quick. I had a combo with taco’s, burrito, and tostada. Weird, if you wanted lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream it would be $ 1.50 extra, what ever. The meal was slightly below OK. The water served with the meals tasted like the glass had some type of cleaner in it after the being washed, told the waiter, didn’t seem too concerned. Had a beer with the meal, it was very cold, best part of the experience. The operation just seemed a little unorganized, not a very well run restaurant but the potential is there, but that is my opinion again. The first time we ate here was right after the place opened, wasn’t too good then. I said I would like to go back and give it another try. Pretty sure I probably won’t go back.

Great Mexican food, great service at a great price! Yum!!! I stopped here on a way to a job. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service and great food, this being a Mexican Restaurant in NE. I live in AZ and I am pretty critical when it comes to Mexican food. This place exceeded my expectations in service and quality of food.

Best Mexican I’ve had in Nebraska we make trips from lincoln just to eat here. The salsa and chips are very fresh and have great flavor. The service good can be slow if they are busy but worth the wait.

The cilantro in La Caretta’s fresh salsa, which comes free at the beginning of your meal with warm chips, is delicious. My favorites here are the combination fajitas, which I always share with my husband, as the portion size is so large. I also love their shrimp quesadillas, the fish taco is just«ok.» Margaritas are good and the service is always expedient.

For being out in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska, this place has decent Mexican food. The place is huge so there is plenty of seating and the service is pretty good. The portion size is also pretty big so you may have some left overs. I went there for dinner and was fairly surprised by their food. It is authentic mexican food and not tex-mex.

Good mex. Original dishes mostly. Not all your standard fare. Can be too busy with slow service. Staffing has not kept up with the popularity. Overall… good value and quality. Will be back
