I’ve been coming to 7 Springs for many years, and I just love a good buffet. Last weekend I wound up at Slopeside for both the Saturday night Italian buffet and the Sunday brunch buffet, and I enjoyed both. The Saturday Italian buffet featured all the usual staples, plus a make-your-own pasta station and an extensive salad/dessert bar. Off of the buffet, the veal scallopini and mustard-coated rainbow trout were both pretty tasty. The dessert bar had a lot of my favorites, like crème-brulee and little individual fruit tarts. Slopeside has had its ups and downs, but overall I was very satisfied with the dinner meal. The food was extensive, and the waitstaff were very attentive and polite. The Sunday brunch buffet featured crab-legs, and fortunately for me everyone seemed to focus on them and left the line at the omelet station down to a minimum. The gentleman who makes the omelets has been around for a long time, and he’s really good at what he does. He’ll make omelets and eggs to order, with a variety of meats and vegetables and cheeses to choose from. Everyone in our party of 6 remarked both on Saturday and Sunday about how good the house coffee was. They’ll bring a big carafe right to your table if you ask. There is usually a wait for dinner and brunch, but as the ski season was over and the summer activities had not yet begun, we were seated immediately and the place did not feel crowded. Lines usually form about a half hour before the buffets are set to begin in the high season. They use the NoWait app though so you can put yourself in the line before yo uh arrive. Overall, great weekend with good food.

Went there for breakfast buffet this morning. It was very good, all of the food was at its perfect temperature and good. Waiter was very nice and the view we had was amazing. Will be going back again for more breakfast buffet tomorrow!

Seven Springs is one of my favorite day trips. Go on a weekday for the breakfast buffet and watch the skiers. Even if there is no snow in Pittsburgh, you can find it on the mountains. The table settings are nice, lots of attentive staff and the buffet is always kept fresh and full.

The seafood buffet was offered at 40 per person and It was worth every penny. First, the hostess allowed us to walk through and observe what was being offered before we made our decision whether to dine there. I appreciated that courtesy. What an amazing display of delicious offerings. You have to see it to believe it We were seated at a very nice table next to a big window overlooking the slope everything tasted delicious. The server was very attentive. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful evening and will absolutely be returning My complements to the entire staff for a job well done.

Expensive and they’ve slashed their menus in half. This place has been going down hill ever since the Nutting family bought the resort a few years back. Seems like they have been cutting more and more corners every time I go back. You are basically stuck on the mountain so, unless you want to drive to Sommerset, they’ve got you paying for not a lot of great options. They use a TON of institutionalized foods and do very little with it. Some entrees taste like cafeteria food.

Came to Seven Springs for a birthday getaway with my husband. Some of good friends drove up to join us for dinner. We were doing the Friday Night Seafood Buffet. We had been here years before and loved it. Being that it is a high end restaurant in a resort and it is $ 40 a person you would think it would be better than the $ 20 seafood buffet that all of the restaurants in Pittsburgh have during Lent. Not so much. I’ve had better food and better selection at the Lent buffets. Thankfully we had great friends and great laughter because the food was nothing to celebrate.

Years ago we would go to Seven Springs Slopeside restaurant on Friday nights maybe once every year or two for their seafood buffet. It was never outstanding but was pretty good and the only place around that offered a seafood buffet. It’s been about a decade since we were their and we decided to go this weekend. It took us over 2 hours to get to there due to an accident on interstate 70 so we were definitely starving. At that point anything should have tasted fantastic. Let me start by saying that it was absolutely the worst restaurant food I have ever had in my life and I have eaten a hell of a lot of food! They charge you $ 40 and they don’t even want to give you anything at all in return. The most tolerable of their food was the cold salads but everyone of the ones with crab had imitation crab only. The shrimp were ok but unfortunately unpeeled. The hot food was absolutely horrible. Not only low in selection but just nasty! For fish main courses they only had salmon and Mahi-Mahi both of which were dry and fishy. The soups were disgusting. Tasted like soup from a can. The oysters had a wretched flavor. No meat at all was offered except for what I guess was prim rib but after waiting 5 minutes for the slicer to I suppose finish his cigarette I was offered a fatty end piece from what was left. They had a pasta bar with vegetables. That didn’t even taste right for some reason. Something weird about the Alfred sauce. There was one other shrimp dish and jambalaya that nearly made me throw up on the table. And that was it for the entire list of hot foods except for my personal favorite — crab legs. I figure if nothing else I can always fill up several pound of snow crab legs. I love them. I often travel very far to get them. Well they were the worst I have ever had and I gave up after three clusters. They were the smallest, cheapest clusters that money can buy. And the shells were so soggy that you could not break them. You literally could not get what little meat there was in them out of them. I just gave up. So still starving I thought I would hit the dessert bar and fill up. They certainly looked good. Holly crap — every single piece of cake was dry like it had been sitting out for a whole day! And very little selection compared to yeas back. And the service? She was pleasant enough but slow as can be. I don’t know who is managing that place now but they sure as hell should be fired. What an awful and expensive experience. If that restaurant was literally next door to me and I got to eat there free I would not even go except maybe to get a piece of bread off of the bread bar. Save your money.

‘Feast of the Seven Fishes’??? My family has gone to the Christmas Eve buffet here for the last 10 years, some years are better than others. This year was just not good. This year, the buffet was centered about seafood as the main ingredient with no real variation outside of the sea. This was also the first year for this kind of menu, hopefully, the last. The management at the front desk was flustered for as long as I was there; as I understand this is now the second year that they have taken reservations. Both folks seemed to have a difficult time managing the reserved tables, the long line of customers at the desk-like me, who were unaware of the new reserved table policy-and questions from all customers as to why the buffet was just fish. After much discussion with the manager, I managed to get a table for my party of 8 people, a table they had to fabricate on the fly, because all of the suitable tables were reserved for later in the night. Unfortunately, many of the reserved tables remained empty for our whole 2 hours in the dining room. It certainly seems like they need to revisit their reservation policy and begin to handle reservations like every other restaurant on the planet, and not reserve a single table, seemingly for the entire night. Our server Meagan, did a nice job when she was present, but it certainly did seem like they were short staffed in the dining room as it was 30 minutes before our drink order was taken and pretty lengthy periods of time between visits from Meagan. We ended up ordering from the menu and also got the salad and dessert bar. All in all, the food was good, as is expected, because this restaurant does have a good culinary staff. However, the service and the unexpected buffet menu curveball is really making us rethink our yearly Christmas Eve tradition.

The dinner buffet was beautifully presented with a truly impressive salad, bread and desert bar. Unfortunately the protein of the evening, herb roasted chicken, which had great possibilities, was severely overcooked and too dry even to cut. The accompanying dressing was crumbling and dried out as well. The field green salad was wilted and the breads cold and somewhat stale. Everything else on the bar was delightful. Service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was far superior with a custom omelet station and a great selection of hot food, fruit and cereal.

Use to be a great restaurant when the Dupres’ owned and operated the place. New owners have fired long term loyal employee’s and serve food I wouldn’t feed to my worse enemy . Don’t’ waste your time or money here.

Now I ask you, where can you go and have a wonderful meal while watching people ski? I have been to Aspen, and I don’t remember a place where I could do this and have such a great view! They also have a salad bar which in my parts are hard to find! My friend had the French dip sandwich and it was gigantic! The salad bar is fully stocked and loaded with items to choose from, including soup and desserts. I highly recommend the slopeside dining room. The service is excellent as well.

After a really successful NYE spent at Seven Springs this year, I was in desperate need of hangover food and a strong cup of coffee. This place hit the spot, We walked in between the breakfast and lunch switch over and went out of their way to accommodate for either. We opted for the lunch tra, which was great sandwiches and soup along with some Bloddy Mary’s. The food was great, they had a few choices of soup and a large spread for sandwiches and salads, as well as a great cheese station. The veggies were fresh and the soup was thick and hearty. The Bloody Mary’s were on point. Just enough spice and all the fixing. The coffee could have used some help but everything else was put the coffee concerns at ease.

I was at Seven Springs for four days. So I experienced breakfast and dinner there several times. Overall ok, nothing spectacular. My first night there I wandered into Slopeside with no idea of what they had to offer. The menu seemed non-descript. Nothing stood out as unique or impressive. I didn’t want a generic steak or pasta so I just got the salad, cheese and dessert bar. It was decent and reasonably priced comparatively. I never saw anyone in Timbers or I might have tried that. The breakfast buffet is decent, an omlette bar, cereal bar, pastry bar, bacon, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt and all kinds of toast. Good. But after four days I was sick of it. That’s the hard part of being out in the middle of no where surrounded by really small towns, the variety is limited. Overall service was spotty and slow. For one breakfast I had better luck getting my own condiments, juice and water. I only saw my waitress once. But I guess for the free breakfast that I got with the room package I had it is much better than other hotel options Overall eh. Maybe the weekend buffets are better.

After spending a few hours tubing, we had worked up an appetite and decided to try the prime rib buffet at The Slopeside Dining Room. The buffet starts at 5 pm, we had arrived a bit early and thought we were going to have to wait but we were seated at a table with a lovely view of the slopes and told to start with the soup and salad section of the buffet while the rest of the food was brought out. The salad bar was nice, veggies seemed fresh and there was a decent variety of options. The bread table had a variety of breads and a couple different flavored butters. There was also a desert table with about a dozen different options, including a fantastic lemon meringue pie. Entrees were brought out a little before 5. The prime rib was cooked well, not overdone at all. One member of our group raved about the steamed clams. I really enjoyed the curry rice that was served that evening. What really made the difference in our visit was the service… Our waitress was great, I wish I could remember her name… She recommended a fantastic bottle of wine, kept our glasses filled, made great conversation with us and just made the experience that much better with her attentive service. Great service and lovely views!

I am captive at the Seven Springs Resort. My husband is attending a week long conference. The problem? I’m allergic to gluten; there is poor variety on the overpriced menu; and, I don’t have my car to escape. The best choice for me has been the salad bar, though I was surprised that I cannot even eat their broth-based soups.(FYI Only the poorest quality broths contain gluten — at least in my experience.) For the prices charged, I’m surprised they use gluten-based broths. I’ve ordered the Pistachio Chicken with rice(overcooked and dry in my opinion) for $ 19. My husband laughingly says that he barely managed to choke down his pork chop(overcooked and dry in his opinion) with mashed potatoes and four green beans for $ 19. Last night I paid $ 30 for a T-Bone and a handful of French fries. The seasoning was a bit overpowering, but at least I was able to choose the cooking times by stating how I’d like my steak. The unlimited salad bar is the freshest and best priced deal at $ 10, including unlimited desserts.(The cheesecake, plain, and the Crème Brulee are their gluten-free options.) The view in the restaurant is excellent; the staff is friendly; but, all in all, the food is extremely overrated in terms of taste and quality and definitely way overpriced. And if you are traveling with a gluten-free child, expect to pay the big menu adult prices. Everything on the Kid’s Menu is the typical low quality fare you usually see — hamburger, chicken planks, mac-n-cheese, etc.

The Slopeside Dining Room at Seven Springs Mountain Resort is the end result of a resort/hotel placed on a mountain in the middle of the forest with no where else relatively close as an option without a drive off the mountain to eat. However, don’t think that one would be doomed to stay here to eat. The menu and atmosphere caters to the family, group, or individual with a full back of house staff of chefs to allure your sense of taste into wanting more. Known for their buffets, one can also choose to order direct from the menu, which on the last visit, I did. At $ 19.00, I wasn’t expecting gourmet quality, however the Pistachio Roasted Chicken was quite a pleasant surprise, and could almost pass as gourmet.

we went on fri night for the seafood buffet. well lets just say, they dont makem like they used to. we went there maybe 15 yrs ago and the food was much better and they had lobster on the buffet. for 40 bucks a person, shouldnt they throw you at least one lobster? i feel it was worth the typical 15 to 18 dollars for a seafood buffet since there wasnt anything on there that wowwed us. as a foodie, i give it a meh! minus. wont ever give them my 100 dollar bill again.

Inside the lodge of the Seven Springs Mountain Resort and known all around for their famous buffets is the Slopeside Dining Room. They have a daily breakfast buffet, a much more glamorous and bountiful Sunday brunch buffet, the Grand buffet on Saturday evenings features chef carved roast prime rib, spring lamb chops, tournedos of beef, chicken and pork accompanied by many sides, desserts and salads. My favorite is the Seafood buffet on Friday evenings featuring snow crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, fresh fish selections, sautéed scallops, shrimp scampi and lump crab meat Hoezel. But fret not ye seafood haters, there is steak on this one as well. A link to their buffets, prices and hours: They also have a wonderful offering on their regular lunch & dinner menu’s.
