This place is awesome! I came up with my one-year old son and stayed in a cabin. It was perfect with an attached bathroom and small kitchen. The place is pretty rustic — gas lanterns, no electricity, no wifi, no cell service — but it was nice to disconnect for a few days and really soak up the unbelievable beauty of the park. Even though it was rustic, everything was really clean and well maintained. I was nervous about coming up just me and the baby, but as other reviewers have mentioned, the people here are just so warm and welcoming, that we soon felt right at home. In the afternoons, the staff taught a free yoga class. There was even a massage therapist on site. You can feel how much everyone working here loves the camp and being in nature. We ate our meals outside and enjoyed a fire pit in the evening. I’d love to come back for one of the retreats they host over the summer.

A few weeks ago we decided to getaway from LA for the weekend and took a trip to the Sequoia National Forest. On the way we made a few calls to camping places in the forest. Luckily the second call we made was to Casey at Far Horizons, and we immediately felt her great love of nature, peace & unity. We knew it would be a great place for us so we booked and headed over! We arrived just as the sun was setting. What a wonderful energy this place has and the people are warm, friendly and welcoming. As we were unpacking our things we were invited to join others at the big campfire that someone had just started. We joined and immediately felt at home with our new camp friends /family :) There is a lot of history to the spirituality of the place that we knew nothing about when we first called. It was quite evident in the people working & staying there. It was the perfect mix of nature /inner piece /fun & beauty… Although we didn’t realize the full extent of the beauty until the next morning when we could see the place in the light of day. WOW! Trees everywhere, mountain views, a few cute little cabins which are for rent dot the property, and a morning gathering spot where people were having breakfast. All and all it was a wonderful experience, partly because of the serene physical beauty of the place, partly because of the great energy of the people there and partly because of the perfect location as a jumping point to check out so many amazing places up in Sequoia National Forest. Two thumbs up… way up!!! Thanks again Far Horizons Retreat :)

A magical gem that offers the ability for one to rest, restore, recharge, and be in the vibration of pure Spirit. Created by a Theosophical Group and in alignment with my spiritual practices. As a naturalist, I completely recommend this space for many reasons. I went for a Goddess Awakening Retreat and met amazing women, and loved the staff. I rented one of the rooms in the Pine Chalet, which was very nice for a rustic space, with Lanterns and usage of shared outdoor bathrooms. They provide you education on Bears, along with Bear Boxes for any food or smelly items one may have brought into the Grounds(IE like me… duh!) and Chamber Pots(so you don’t have to go out in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom to tinkle, but I enjoyed facing my Bear fears, and didn’t use it). The meals at the space were nurturing, delicious, wholesome, and very healthy. My favorite was the Broccoli Quiche and Home made Spaghetti with Garbanzo Beans Meatballs, and Cheese bread, with home made Brownies with Strawberries infused in the middle and fudge sauce on top), the salads were Summery and refreshing, great coffee, and nice selection of Teas. We had Yoga at the Vista area overlooking Tree lined canyons, our sessions in Hull Hall, with Fireplace, and even an awesome dance party with the resident staff spinning Vinyls on his personal record player. I am thoroughly in love with this place, and all the beautiful souls who support this space. I cried leaving and almost couldn’t leave. I literally turned around 3x on the way out.
