I am not sure why Unilocalers are saying the resort is closed. We stayed there just a couple months ago, and as of a few weeks ago talked with them about reservations in July, which they could not accommodate because they were fully booked for the space and dates we wanted. They are NOLONGER Sequim Bay Resort, so maybe this has people confused? THe new name is John Wayne’s Waterfront Resort. During our stay, the staff was wonderful, polite and very easy to work with. We got a great space in the second row that was close to the huge grassy area, which was nice for walking our two Great Danes. We highly recommend this resort for people who come to a resort for the views, and don’t expect it to be a 5-star RV resort. We will stay there anytime we are in the area, and they have an opening.

management was very unwelcoming. Charged $ 3.00 per extra guest, even if they were local just meeting you at the site for dinner. No handicap access for restrooms. Will not stay here again.

The place is ok for a small little RV spot. It is no resort! I wish there were trees, a campfire ring and a pool. They say there is a private beach, but cannot really find it. there are many people who live here full time it would seem, and I wish they left their weed wackers at home… as I came here to have peace and quiet. Also the electric is not really good as I had several power surges that destroyed my A/C

We went up last weekend for my mom’s birthday and stayed in one of the cabins. pros: walking distance to John Wayne Marina, nice view minus the power lines in front of the cabins, cute cabin, outdoor grill, most cabins have picnic tables, comes with dishes, free wi fi, fridge, microwave, toaster, dish soap, drainer. all the basics. It’s easy access to 101 and you can walk to the Dockside Grill if you don’t feel like cooking. cons: impolite staff, dirty floors in our cabin, no housekeeping, tiny tv, no picnic table at our cabin and they seem to have a lot of rules… not that I mind rules, but they seem really overzealous about them. To better describe the customer service, I made the reservation months ago and never heard anything from the resort the few weeks before to confirm anything or to let us know when we could check in. When I initially called, the woman on the phone was really particular about how many people were coming and I told her it would be within the guidelines for the cabin we reserved but she still pushed this point several times and told me it was on septic and people weren’t allowed to sleep on the couch. Then when I called to confirm our reservation a week before we came, she did the same thing again and then told me it was a fire code issue. I told her again I had no intention of having more people than what we were allowed. She started up again in the same conversation about not having too many people and I had to cut her off and tell her I thoroughly understood I could not have more people. Seriously. We got it. At no point ever did I even suggest having more than the amount we were supposed to so it just seemed silly to push this issue. I am sure they have had problems with this in the past or something but there is no need to heckle other patrons over this. When we came to check in, she was not the most pleasant person I have encountered. She AGAIN asked how many were in our party and reiterated the rules again. At this point, it was comical to me. She is a very cut and dry person and we had to track down the housekeeper to get the key for our cabin. When we went to check out the office doesn’t open until 9am and when the time rolled around no one came out. I pushed the doorbell and the lady yelled out the door at me that she was on the phone and to «PUTTHEKEYSINTHEBOX!» I didn’t know what box she was talking about and she yelled again«THEONEWITHTHESIGNONIT!!!» No «thanks for coming» or «have a nice day». Basically, «leave me the F alone» is what it felt like. There is a mailbox with faded out writing on the side. This is where the keys go when you check out. I didn’t want to assume this is where they went because I didn’t want to put them in the wrong place and get charged extra. Regardless, I have been treated better when I paid money to stay somewhere. This woman needs to hone her customer service skills and be more polite and focus on necessary things like making it clear where to put keys when you check out and maybe making sure the cabins are clean. To sum up, I won’t go back. It’s too expensive for how I was treated and there really are no amenities that make this place stand out. For two nights it was $ 400 and we had 3 people in our cabin. It could be a great get away spot though and I want to make that clear. A few simple things would really make this place a gem, so I won’t give up hope. Better customer service, housekeeping, picnic tables at all cabins and maybe a bigger tv with a dvd player(this is not needed but would be nice)
