I’ve only had the yummy chicken lunch special which is pretty good. The chicken is hot and crisp and doesn’t get soggy in the sauce after it’s tossed. The yummy chicken lunch comes with a side of lo mein style noodles with vegetables. The noodles are tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce that may be teriyaki. It’s good but they use way too much sauce, it’s pretty overwhelming. The last time I went I asked that they go lighter on the sauce which they did but it was still a bit too much for me.

A sushi staple in this area: its pretty cheap, delicious, and fresh. This is located in the Bardmoor shopping center, with the Publix, Panera, and Applebees. It’s really tucked away, but its very popular. The interior is pleasant and clean, and the staff is always friendly. Don’t be afraid to ask about a menu item, they’re very helpful and accommodating. We always order the crunchy spicy tuna rolls. It’s simple yet delicious: spicy tuna, crunchies(maybe panko or tempura breading), and rice. That’s it. I ordered the teriyaki chicken lunch bento box. It includes chicken, dumplings, tempura, California rolls, rice, and soup or salad. My two gripes were that the chicken was about half mushrooms. I highly dislike mushrooms. No, I don’t want the world to revolve around me, but I wish more of my chicken was chicken and not mushrooms. My second complaint is the tempura. It is very heavy and not light and crispy like tempura should be. But other than tha, everything was tasty. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and food is great. I think I’ve found my new staple sushi place!

I was really in the mood for a bento box, and remembered this place. We haven’t been there in several years. As a matter of fact, I think it was owned by different people then. Anyway, we ordered the bulgogi and terryaki steak bento boxes. The lunch special($ 8.95) also came with a choice of soup or salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce with the Japanese ginger dressing. Overall, the bento boxes were very good, and very plentiful. My two criticisims are that the two dumplings served were so bland I couldn’t even tell what the ingredients were. Secondly, the tempura batter on the vegetables and shrimp was very heavy, not light and crisp as it should be. Nice atomsphere, and friendly, efficient service.

OK, here is a good example of why we all need a second chance sometimes. I ran into one of the waitresses from Sushi Kabuki at Publix and she explained that it was all a big misunderstanding. OK, fair enough. They genuinely seemed to care, so I went back and tried again. I’m glad that I did. I had my lunch favorite– the chicken teriyaki bento box and it was good, as usual. I’m glad to be back.

EXCELLENTSERVICEANDGOODQUALITYSUSHI. I have eaten a lot of sushi between here and California and this is one of the top 5. They have a fresh spin on sushi and different ways of presenting i that is different from local sushi restaurants. If you like good sushi, a quiet environment, and kind and attentive service, go here. I live in Belleair Beach and will be coming back for more.

The service has really declined in the past couple years, otherwise I would have rated Sushi Kabuki 4 stars. I used to dine here 2 – 3 times per month, but now it is about 2 – 3 times a year. The Good: The presentations are nice, especially if you are ordering enough to fill one of their boats. Also, the chicken broth soup is very, very good. If it were not for this soup, I would not be coming back. The Bad: They absolutely will not make any substitutions on their combination platters(Kabuki Combo). «White Fish» is a very broad term and I prefer to know what I am eating. I requested to replace it with any other inexpensive fish but they refused. This also happened again when they served squid as part of the combination platter. I asked for it to be replaced with salmon and that was denied. I could tell that they took offense when I asked. The Salmon is very good, but you can tell that the tuna is cheap. It has what looks to be an artificial color and is flavorless. The servers and chefs could be a little more welcoming and polite. All in all dont expect much in service, sushi is mediocre, presentations are nice.

I went in today for a bit of a self indulgent lunch, I had Chirashi sushi and the Tempura Udon soup. Both dishes were simple, presented artfully, and both dishes were expertly made and delicious. Service was quick and pleasant. I’ve been to a number of sushi places all over America, and in Japan. This place can hold its own with most of them, & I plan to go back when I’m in that neighborhood.

Food is always amazing. We come here about 1 a month or so. The Todd Special is my favorite. Their kids meals are also very good. It’s been my experience that Japanese restaurants don’t have very good kid’s meals but this one is good. Very clean and nicely decorated.

I’ve probably been to every sushi restaurant in Saint Pete now. This is definitely just okay food. It didn’t blow my mind at all, it was just okay. I ordered 6 rolls, and they were all mediocre and one of them were just bad. They put a cherry on top of one of my rolls. Who puts a CHERRY randomly on a roll. It was just so random. Maybe it was to cover up how bad that roll was.

Excellent food and service here! My wife and I go about once a week, sometimes more often. Kim and Lina always greet us happily by name and make us feel welcome; the other staff are also friendly and attentive. The head sushi chef, Andy, consistently makes excellent Maki, Sushi and Sashimi with just the right amount of rice(instead of too much like many places) and usually artfully displayed. The fish and other ingredients are always fresh and full of flavor. When I go out to dinner for my birthday, this is where I go, and have gone for the last two birthdays which they have made very special. They also have a good drinks selection for those nights when you need to mix a little alcohol with your yummy food. It is sometimes a full house with a short wait, but it is worth the wait!

I have no negative comments about this place. It is not the best thing I ever seen but it’s so exquisite in its simplicity. The food was great, fresh, and flavorful. The dessert… A must have! The Tempura Ice Cream and Cheesecake Tempura you can not go without trying it. All my friends fell in love and the sizes are more than big enough to share! We will be back!

Sometimes great, sometimes not, but there isn’t that many places around who can do sushi lunch specails. The ginger salad n soups are always perfect. The sushi can be good depending on the chef and their budget that day.

Came here while on vacation. Had the udon and a bunch of sushi. It was very good. The udon was soft and cooked just right. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. As for the sushi. It was really. Good. Had a lobster roll and volcano roll. Both of which were perfect. The crunch was done just right and not overly spivey. On a side note the ginger salad was probably the best I’ve had in a while and the service was tip top.

In reflection of all my sushi reviews, I have discovered they are most if not all are 4 or more stars. I am lead to believe, that I am a little biased and I love sushi a lot. With that said, I got the 2 rolls lunch, for $ 9.95. Great deal! I got the Tampa and Spicy Tuna roll. They were really, really good. The Tampa roll is fried white fish and it was amazing. It was all great tasting, fresh, and very affordable. Still need to try them for dinner before I take the leap to 5 stars, but it’s almost there.
