A good, decent place for lunch. One plate items are good, order half orders, since the portions are so big. Try to go on a day they have asparagus. Otherwise, any of the combo plates are good, as are the tofu dishes, and the veggie stir fries.

Found a hidden gem! Met the owner recently and had to try it out… And let me tell you. Food was great! Since we are from the Bay Area. We have pretty high standards. But this did not disappoint! We ordered won ton soup. And the broth itself was full of flavor. Order a couple of off the menu items… And the chef made them deliciously! Will definitely go back! 5 stars!

Years ago this was the only place for Chinese Food in Selma now we have a min of 3 restaurants. Are favorite place was closed for the night so we thought lets try Cho’s had been many years since I have eaten there and what I remember it was always so good. I must say service was friendly, loved the Sweet and Sour Pork and rice yet wasn’t all that great when it came to the pork chow mein. The night we were there no one else was there which to me was a bit strange from what I remember it was always standing room only. As we ate the waitress came around so many times I almost asked her to just please let us eat, the crew was watching a football game on TV must say it was overly loud and did not make our dinning experience very pleasant. If we ever go back we’ll have to try another dish or just get there rice and sweet and sour. They also do not have Hot and Sour soup only the egg drop soup. Very basic menu not a lot to choose from. Did hear the original owners recently retired yet supposedly one of the children took over. Sorry to say they are not keeping the place food taste wise up like Mom and Dad did. Doubt seriously if we ever eat there again.

Cho’s kitchen is awesome! I used to eat there all the time as a kid growing up in Selma. Now every chance I get to visit, cho’s is always on the list of mandatory stops!

inexpensive meals, positive experience while waiting for lunch order and wait wasn’t very long. pan fried noodles were okay as was the orange chicken breading. food was decent but i have had better, not sure if this is the standard in selma. the orange chicken breading was good but the portion was small and lacked sauce. the fried rice also wasnt my favorite. the building appeared run down from the outside but was okay within. overall i would eat there again only because of convenience and cost but would first look to see if there are other places nearby that are better.

If you ever try their pan fried noodles believe me you’ll be back for more! The place could use some remodeling and it isn’t always open just be aware of that. They’re closed Mondays, Tuesdays and between the hours of 2pm –4:30 pm It’s the best Chinese restaurant in town in my opinion. The service is good, food is great, and it isn’t pricy at all. You won’t be disappointed going to Cho’s.

Easily the best Chinese food around. Highly recommend the special dinner b, and make sure you get some hot mustard for your egg rolls.

The place is as good now as it was when it opened 50 years ago, and astonishing value for money. If you go expecting something other than the generic Chinese food every small town in America had in days gone by, you’ll be disappointed. However, if your taste buds wish to be dosed with a little nostalgia, you’ll love it here. The chicken wings are great, chow mein with pan fried noodles and the fried rice are good and I promise, for those of you of a certain age, they will engender fond memories. They certainly do for me.

Grew up on this Chinese food and it is still the best I’ve ever had! Got my husband loving it, too. Eva has been there since I could remember, and she is a great waitress :)

Horrible! We decided to eat here after hearing that it was a good place. No! There was a party of 5. Not bad right? Well, we started to order and were told that we had to order something else because they were out of what we ordered! It was only 6:30 in the evening! So we ordered something else and the server was rude and said«Now we are going to be low on that product». No one was getting what they wanted anyway, so we ordered extra eggrolls and the server said«No, I need to save them for other orders» What?! Customer Service? No! If I come in when you open and order every eggroll you have, I am a paying customer. Apologize to the customer that don’t get one! The saving grace was the«hostess». We decided to go somewhere else and were going to pay for our drinks but she said«Don’t worry about it» and apologized for the inconvenience. Will not go back!

We were on the road and needed to stop for lunch, so we decided to try this place out. I knew it wouldn’t be authentic Chinese food, but I’m not Chinese, so that doesn’t bother me. As long as it is tasty food, I’m OK with it. My husband ordered pork foo young. He’s the one who is picky about Chinese food since he lived in China for a few years. He liked his dish. I ordered a shrimp curry dish. It was HUGE, and it was bland. There weren’t many shrimps in it either. I ended up trying to throw Chinese mustard in it to spice it up. It didn’t do much good. Then I tried throwing in some Tapatio hot sauce. That was worse because that didn’t have any kick to it. I ended up using as much of the Chinese mustard as possible to give it some zest since the chef obviously doesn’t eat any spice. The food must be decent since I saw several people pick up their called-in take-out orders. A few of them were Asians, so either I ordered the wrong dish, or they do not eat spicy food.(Most Chinese do not eat spicy food unless they are from the Sichuan or Hunan province.) Since I require some level of spice to my food, I would not return to this place, although my husband liked his dish enough. I guess the magic is to order a dish that tastes OK without any spice added to it, like his pork foo young, which I thought tasted OK. My rating: two stars.

RETROCHINESE-AMERICANFOOD This is not the most authentic Chinese restaurant but it was my first exposure to Chinese food when I was a child so its appeal is purely nostalgic now. Pork Chow Mein, Fried Rice, and Fried Shrimp They have the most unusual chow mein that is covered with a gloopy bean sprout, celery, and onion paste. It does not look appetizing but there is some strange alchemy that takes place when it is mixed with the unique tasting fried noodles. Somehow it all works. The first bite instantly transported me back to my youth.

Biased? Yes. I used to work here and spent lots of years eating this food, but I truly still love this food. Is it really authentic Chinese food? Not really, but that’s actually what makes it special. There are a ton of really nice Chinese restaurants where I live(Irvine) and I can appreciate the authenticity, but I won’t ever find a restaurant like Cho’s in socal. There’s absolutely nothing like it where I live. Just thinking about it makes me hungry, and I always crave the chow mein when I drive near Selma, heading towards Fresno. I really enjoy the pan fried noodles(soft and crispy), covered with bean sprouts, celery and onion sauce. ! The fried rice is made differently too, mixed with green onion, minced carrots, minced pork and seasoned with soy. I’m always a sucker for the combo #1 or 2 when I stop by, but sometimes I like getting the curry chicken for a little kick. For a guy that used to eat here so often, I definitely know now why I miss it.
