Tohono O’odham Nation Information & Technology

This is a review for FM broadcast station KOHN, 91.9 MHz.
So far as I can tell, KOHN covers most of the Tohono O’odham Nation. It’s my go-​to station when driving Arizona 86. The 60dbu contour suggests only a portion of the coverage area. There’s always something cool playing. During various trips through southern Arizona, I’ve heard Lakota hip hop, traditional tribal music, and programming from other native nations. There are no commercials and it’s a nice change from other Tucson-​area stations. The station seems like a worthwhile effort and cost to the Tohono O’odham Nation. Outsiders with a respectful curiosity and an open mind will learn something here.
