Selinsgrove Hotel

This is a great place to enjoy dinner. They have an appetizer called Black Jack dip that’s very good. Dinners are good but we usually go for burgers and fries. Delicious!

Was working at Sunbury Hospital for a few weeks and decided to stay here after visiting downtown Selinsgrove. This place is pretty cool, almost like a B&B but its a hotel. Check-​in was very efficient and the room was staying at Grandmas house. Very relaxing and comfortable. Just like a small apartment. WIFI was good (surprisingly).
The breakfast was amazing (included with rate). It seemed as if my grandma was in there cooking the food every morning! This place is right downtown Selinsgrove — and walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you want a break from the usual Marriot, Hampton, or HI give this place a try. I know if I ever go back to the area I will definitely be staying here again.
The rate was under $ 130 per night.

Terrible service. Total chaos. We never would have gotten served if a kindly waitress had not taken pity on us. As we left I heard the manager telling people it would be a 30-​minute wait for food, and by that time there were empty tables all over the restaurant. The pulled pork sandwich I had was good, but when the service and general atmosphere is so bad, it doesn’t matter if the food is good or not. The experience has been ruined.

Seems like this could be a great place, some good reviews here. However, every time my family has tried to go in here, there’s some sort of restriction — can’t bring kids into the restaurant area on Sundays, and the kitchen isn’t open not one, but TWO days/​week (Mondays and Tuesdays). I’ve been to many other area places with a bar and a restaurant section, and they know how to do business 7 days/​week, with or without your family. Also, the restaurant area isn’t marked, so if you don’t know which door to go in, you go right into the bar area. Most places this is not really a problem, but with the restrictions, it makes it a problem. Staff was nice, but things need to change.

So surprised to find such good cheap grub!!! they did start «kicking» us out after we had dinner. they started turning off the lights to the porch area and cleaning very obviously around us (broom & all)… «get out»?? i think was their message. lol. but regardless, their food was surprisingly good!

I don’t know what kind of liquor laws there are in this county, but I’m assuming they are DRY ones because man, I couldn’t find a place to get a six-​pack for my life! The folks of Selinsgrove are kind enough to point you in the right direction. I only stayed to pick up my six-​pack, but this place seemed awesome: bunch a blue-​collar fellas cracking some suds after a hard day’s work. I look forward to staying and eating here, should the opportunity arise.

So far so good. Very cool building inside along the main drag in Selinsgrove. A little confusing when you walk in the front door because of the doors you have to pick to decide what you want to do. Food was very good. We ate at the bar and I had the Speedway Burger and my wife had the bacon blue burger. Both were good sized and very good. Definately would come here again.
