Hampton Inn Selinsgrove / Shamokin Dam

I usually stay at Marriott’s, so staying here I didn’t expect to much a bed and a hot shower, I was presently surprised at how nice this place is. The lobby is open and welcoming with hot cookies and fresh coffee, water or tea available. Very large dining area to enjoy the complementary breakfast or just to hang out.
My room was average size, two queen size beds, large mini fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. Modern desk area lots of outlets through out the room (hate having to search to plug in my phone) The bathroom has a great layout, lots of room and upgrades. I loved the colors in this room too, brown tan and reds blended well together… nice not having a flashy, old or gaudy wallpaper or paint.
Parking lot was well lit with lots of close spots near the entrance. Staff is very friendly and professional.
I will definitely be looking for more Hampton Inn’s to stay at in the future.

This hotel is a nice place to stop in a middle of nowhere location. The furnishings are surprisingly modern. I especially love that the desk can be wheeled anywhere in the room, for eating, playing games, etc. The bathroom was kind of dark; based on the other photos here, maybe there was something wrong with the lights. That’s a minor complaint though, as our stay here was thoroughly pleasant.

A number of our family members stayed at the Hampton Inn Selingrove/​Schmokin Dam for the weekend because we were attending a family wedding in the area. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I 1000
loved the area and felt like I was in a safe and quaint part of PA. I would have actually rated it at 4 stars or better except for one very big problem. In my hurry to check out on Sunday morning, I left my Verizon Galaxy Tablet in the double bed where I had used it both nights I was there. When I realized Monday evening that I left it in the room, I called the hotel, confident they would tell me Housekeeping had turned it in on Sunday. That was not the case. I called again on Tuesday morning thinking surely the day staff was aware that housekeeping found my tablet when they cleaned the room and made the bed. Unfortunately that didn’t happen either. I am so disappointed that such a great weekend in a beautiful small town ended on such a sour note. My advice to anyone staying here to keep your valuables with you at all times or there is a chance you may not see them again.
UPDATE: Since I posted this review I was contacted by a representative from Hilton Worldwide Guest Assistence. They have promised to look into my issue with the missing tablet. I have a difficult time believing someone actually kept it, so I’m hoping maybe it was tossed in the washer along with many other bedsheets and maybe they didn’t know from which room it came. More to come.

I stay here all the time for work — the staff makes the experience. They’re friendly and thoughtful — from the front desk to the breakfast staff to the housekeeping staff. The place is always clean and the breakfast is good. Definitely recommend staying here (definitely do not stay at the Econo Lodge which is like 5 min from the Hampton).

This place came from HEAVEN!!! I booked one hotel it was YUCK! I was driving to pick my daughter up from Woodward and NOTHING was showing up! I was about to stay in my car in the mountains in the middle of no where and YES!!! The best HOTEL!!! Breakfast Perfecto!!! Thank YOU!!!

Clean and friendly! We were visiting family in college (SU and BU) and we needed a place for one night. With a 4 year old we were looking for a pool and breakfast. Not only was the staff friendly but their pool was heated and the breakfast was perfect. We will stay here again!

Beautiful hotel and very clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and checked us in and out quickly. Bed was extremely comfortable and clean. I will stay here again without hesitation!

Great staff, they will attempt to fill your requests during your reservations. I made a request and it was a surprise for my daughter; they made it happen. It was AWESOME. Also they supplied us with a list of restaurants that would deliver since we had been on the road for over 3 and a half hours. THANK YOU!!!

Very clean. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. I’ve stayed here several times and will again. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

We booked an emergency room in the Hampton Inn when a tire blew while passing through town. . at 1 am! The front desk manager, Beth, was so helpful and friendly and made what could’ve been a much more stressful time much easier. She even researched which tire shops were open the next day (a Sunday, so not an easy task!), when they opened, and directions to each. She then printed them out and slipped them under our door so that when we awoke in the morning, we had a plan!
