The bbq here was just bad. Overcooked, no flavor and slipped into bunny bread. The service was terrible. Some slack jawed kid took our order and completely messed it up. Steer clear of this place.

Hands down best BBQ in Seguin!!! My meat was tasty and not dry! Finally! The other 6 places I’ve been were just a waste of my time and money!!! The sides here are yummy and the staff was pleasent too. I will be back the next time I want BBQ!

In a follow up visit, I got the all you can eat catfish plate and the catfish was very tasty, as was the Mexican bread pudding on a Friday during Lent. The BBQ looked better in the glass case but some of the ladies behind the counter especially the younger one has horrible customer service skills. For that alone I will dock this review 1 star. I was going to give them a 4 because the BBQ look halfway decent today and the fish was excellent. As others have said on Facebook and elsewhere, some of the employees don’t make you feel welcome unless they know you. When I went to get some more catfish I got four small pieces without an enjoy, glad to see you etc. I hear the Guadalupe grill house has all you can eat catfish on Fridays too. This fish was good but since I can’t eat a lot anyway and it was $ 12 it’s just not worth my effort to come here, therefore since I really don’t like their BBQ I upped my rating from 2 to 3 and I’m pretty much done with this place. I’m a baller on a budget. This is a terrible example of Texas bbq. Looking through a «holding» glass case with dare I say it, heat lamps were fatty, globuler looking mounds of brisket. It was very unappealing. Why use cheaper cuts of meat, just for more profit? I got just a link of sausage, as I heard they definitely stuff their own and take pride in it. The sausage was dry, greasy(and not a good greasy like city market or smittys in lockhart), but a fried or day old microwaved greasy. I heard from others, they do hold meats over the next day. The sausage was loose inside and peppered well, but there was not a snap to the casing, either because it is not a natural casing or the meat was reheated somehow. The bbq sauce was bland and watery. It tasted like someone just poured out the juice from one of those Hormel canned tamales. Take my advice and drive the 17 miles further and go to Luling’s City Market, or wait for the new HEB’s bbq restaurant to open.

Love this place — Wow! The Big Boy on a Bun is amazing! One sandwich but you have the choice whether it be Sliced Brisket, Chopped Brisket, Handmade Sausage, Pulled Chicken or Southern Fried Fish. Of course, I ordered mine with Pulled Chicken. The Matador Nachos are huge & cheesy — filled with meat, beans and cheese. A friend ordered the Fried Chicken plate — perfection! This has to be one of my fave places for Fried Chicken here in Texas. Dessert? Yes — Peach Cobbler, Pecan Pie and Banana Pudding. I don’t care for any of those three but then again I left no room for sweets. I’ll definitely be back to Davila’s BBQ here in Seguin! Check ‘em out! Cheers***

Very disappointing! My husband and I came in looking for some good BBQ. Well this was not it. The brisket was extremely tough with a huge fat cap and the ribs were no better. The BBQ sauce had no favor and the sides all tastes the same. Our first and last visit.

The best BBQ in Seguin!!! Served how you request it, every time. Good family and great atmosphere. Their burgers are to die for! Old school Texas BBQ done right!

Outstanding food! The Smoked brisket burger is almost pure genius. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 is one of their workers has a poor attitude.

Everything about this place ranked right under«meh» the food, the service, even the tea tasted weird. Sorry I didn’t listen to the bad reviews on Unilocal for this one. Lesson learned. If your reading this, pass on this one.

I am definitely coming back here whenever I need good barbecue! There were four people in my group and everybody loved their food! All together we got the chopped brisket po boy, turkey leg, sliced brisket, cheeseburger, green beans, Mac n cheese, fries, cole slaw and wings. The best thing we had were the wings; absolutely amazing! We got the hot and BBQ and were all fighting for the last one. Only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is that I do wish the BBQ sauce was thicker but it still had a good flavor. The cole slaw was terrible though, DONOTRECOMMEND.

If you’re looking for a good BBQ, well this ain’t it! For starters the little b**** at the cash register is very rude. I had brisket sausage and ribs, the brisket was ok, the ribs were dry and the sausage was like processed mincemeat spam crap, it was terrible. I’m not one to bad mouth a food establishment but one thing for sure I will not be going back.

Stopped here for brisket. Wife ordered wet brisket. Had to return it for dry, ½″ fat cap made up over ½ of the very small serving. The new meat was over cooked from the small end of the flat. All meat was tough. Had to work to cut it. Limes on beverage bar were rotted with fruit flies in them. They were out of rice so I had pinto beans and green beans. All sides were cold. Nothing special. Find somewhere else to eat.

Pretty disappointing. Let’s start with unfriendly. We ordered and they incorrectly overcharged us, gave us the wrong drinks, gave attitude when we questioned them, and had to have someone else give us our correct change. Then when we got our food, it was incorrect(wrong type of meat for the trio plate and cheese on a regular hamburger) but we said whatever and felt like it wasn’t worth the fight to change it. The bbq and sausage was dry while the burger was thin and tasteless for being charged $ 5. The whole experience was just a bummer on a bun.

We were looking for a place to eat after our son’s baseball tournament in Seguin. Unilocaled the area and found this about a mile away from TLU baseball field. Crossed our fingers hoping the 4.5 stars was good indicator. Beef, chicken and ribs were EXCELLENT! Got to try the sausage next time since they grind, season and pack their own on site. Great, friendly service, which is hard to find these days. They’ve been in business for over 55 years. That tells you something!

Used to come down here from Ball Elementary on Fridays. There was another Davila’s close in 2010, but closed down. Everything on the menu is MUTHAFUCKINDELICIOUS. I mostly go 4 the Ribs. N e thing that came from the pig is MUTHAFUCKINDELICIOUS.

Spent a month in Central Texas and tried over a dozen barbecue joints, including all the big names. Davila’s was the best. Homemade rubs and good ingredients paired with a just right smoked flavor. Plenty of leftovers too. A hidden gem in Texas.

This place is ridiculous sorriest BBQ that I have ever had mostly fat on the ribs and the brisket had a good flavor but had fat running through with a fat cap. My grandson had the fish which consisted of fried river catfish that not had the fish fat trimmed off very strong tasting fish could not eat it .The only I gave it a one star was the front doors worked pretty good…

Came here for lunch while at ZDT. Very good BBQ, delicious hamburgers, friendly customer service. Very good food prices. Nice small town feel to it. Will definitely be back!

First note… this is NOT fine dining(and that’s a good thing). This is classic hole-in-the-wall family style place. Lots of wood paneling and formica. Small shop with about 15 tables. I stopped in for a quick bite. Lots of food for the money. I had a soda and sausage and it was more than I expected. Service was up to par. Can be a bit hectic near dinner time.

Havnt been back to Davila’s since my family left in 1985. Husband and I went in there for dinner and it was just as I remembered, nothing changed and food was just as good. And even after 25 yrs, Mr. Davila remembered me and my family!
