Standard Greek options, but prepared very well. Creamy hummus, any very flavorful salad dressing. I had the Shrimp Kabob which was great and made with very big shrimp. Atmosphere is plain. Owner is a friendly greek women who will make any adjustment to a menu item. Will definitely come back

What a complete shame. After going here for years loyally, and ordering the same food(which is overpriced) on sometimes a daily basis… I had not been in a year due to illness. I considered the staff like family. However when I came back in after a year, the owners wife mistook me for someone else and after hearing why I stopped coming(being ill and nearly losing my life) she said I owed them $ 5. No proof and the entire story made no sense. She started a fight in front of customers and her staff who shook their heads and made the hand signal of a crazy person. While I stood there she continued to tell that her daughters memory was better than mine and I ordered a soup when I was there with an old man or neighbor and I never came back. I have never ordered soup at Stefanos in my life. I actually never ordered anything but the platter which is over ten dollars. So alleging that I didn’t pay for something because the credit card min was $ 10 and I only had a card was not a true story. What an absolute disappointment. Watch out for the owners wife.

Decent in a pinch but by no means an experience worth going out of the way for. It’s quick food, good hummus, gyro has that frozen generic meat they use in delis. Service is crappy but you don’t go for the service. Go to Paterson or Jersey City instead for four star

Didn’t even bother eating here walked in ready to experience what reviewers had experienced but decided it wasn’t worth it. My co-workers and i were in the area and searched for a good med spot and came across these reviews. The young lady in the front taking orders during lunch time with the long hair was extremely rude. Didn’t deserve my hard earned money so we all decided to crossed over to the japanese buffet which was awesome by the way. Id rather support an organization that treats customers with dignity there are tons of other places to get good food.

Food wise this place is awesome. Probably one of my first few Greek experiences but the only one to keep me coming. I get the gyro platter with rice & salad. The girl that works there has an impressive memory, almost too impressive. She always remembers that I don’t like tomatoes and I like garlic sauce better than the tzatziki that comes with my plate. She is the only reason i’m hesitant about dining there. It’s almost like eating at someone’s house and feeling weird about asking for too much water or napkins. She makes the experience a bit uncomfortable. She even complained once that my boyfriend didn’t drink all of his water and next time he won’t get any, and yes when we returned she remembered. ALSO she overcharges whenever she feels like it. BECAREFUL

The place calls itself Greek but it really isn’t. Their«moussaka» was a totally different dish resembling more Turkish and Arab food. The meats are decent but the rice is cooked and served like latino rice. And their veggies in the rice seemed old/freeze dried.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! My husband and I were in the mood for some lighter fare, we were about to go to Olive Garden but spotted Stefano’s reviews on Unilocal and it sparked our curiosity. The sign to the restaurant is very subtle and easy to miss among the very bright and larger chains like chillis and subway, so keep your eyes peeled! It’s passed burgerfi and tokyo hibachi. We were so happy to walk into this charming family owned restaurant and be greeted by attentive service! We took the lady’s suggestion of the falafel platter(so flavorful, yummy and crispy), with rice pilaf(full of flavor and tasty vegetables) and fries(so fresh and crispy). The salad was fresh and had this amazing homemade dressing. The best part was feeling like we were indulging but everything was actually pretty healthy! The oil used has zero trans fat. I can’t forget the lebne with warm pita bread. Lebne is a strained tangy whipped yogurt garnished with olive oil. It’s the perfect combo of hot and cold foods :) Unlike the other reviews we didn’t experience any of the overcrowded atmosphere. We had come for dinner so it was pretty relaxed, so I’m sure that’s why it was relatively easy for us to get good service. I urge you to try this place! It’s definitely worth searching for :)

My family & I stopped during a road trip as we were craving healthier food. They offered wonderful vegetarian options & were very accommodating at requested modifications. My wife ordered hummus & they provided several fresh vegetables for her & the whole table to enjoy. The staff was extremely knowledgeable & friendly. They genuinely do strive to feed people real food! We would highly recommend this & wish there was one closer to home!

Bit of a crazy madhouse at lunch. A noisy but funny young woman shouts orders into the kitchen and her(usually correct) guesses at what the regulars in line are about to order. Seems a fave with the local office workers which is no bad thing. Plenty of take out orders because the room has no sound deadening. Food is good and plentiful though, and on a nice day not bad to eat outside away from the insanity.

The food rocks here. I was surprised when my girl took me here… thought we were rolling into a dentist office or something. It’s in a corporate looking office area… the traffic to get here for dinner sucks, but it is worth it. The food was superb and the owner/waitress was very friendly and offered her recommendations. I like that! Everything we ate was yummy! EVERYTHING! The only thing that sucks about this place is, the location. It’s set way back in some office complex… it’s should be showcased out in front… Yeah…it’s that good!

Awful service. Not much else to say. Very rude staff. They ran out of my choice then they waitress asked my dining partner of she was willing to give up her lunch for me to eat. Ridiculous. The waitress then gave a ton of attitude.

Love this place! My family has been coming here for years. The mother and daughter who run the place are so kind, and personable. They remember my family every time I come here and always ask about them. The food is awesome especially the shish and the gyro! This place is great for lunch or dinner. It is BYOB. If you are around the area def check it out!

Seemed like a family owned place, with great Mediterranean food and certainly crowded during lunch hours. While the foods nice ranging from gyro, chicken sandwiches to complete platters. They also have the falafel option for vegetarians. With homemade ice tea and lemonade, surely one of the places I recommend.

This is a great place to come if you’re near the expo center but don’t want to eat at a chain restaurant. Portions are large, and they’re open to customizing dishes as you want/need. I had the moussaka platter with a double side salad. The«special home made dressing» is really just oil and vinegar with some herbs, but does finish the salad off nicely. The moussaka was again, generously portioned. It has a consistency of a soup or stew, and is a mix of chick peas with tomato and eggplant. Somewhere between chili and marinara sauce, but really all together delicious. The pita bread was also very good — a little more butter tasting that most others. Friends had the falafel(about six or seven to an order and given good reviews) and chicken. The sides of tahini and garlic mayo were very well received. Service is attentive and friendly… expect a bit of conversation if you offer it. Food is brought out quickly. Décor is simple and clean. Tables are suited for parties of 2 – 4 but can surely be pushed together for larger groups. Updating this review to add an additional star… I ate left-overs from Stefano’s for two days after my initial meal, and each time I was left wanting more. That was some of the best eggplant I’ve ever had(in the moussaka).

Been coming here since they opened several years ago. It’s a nice family run place. A big break from all the usual chain places. The combo platter is awesome(kofta kabob and lamb) very tasty. The owners daughter(Jennifer I believe) is sweet and if you are a regular she will remember what you order, how you like it cooked, etc. everything is made to order here, and very quickly at that. Great place for lunch, dinner or take out.

Definitely pretty good, and a nice alternative to the chain restaurants in the Plaza for a quick lunch. We came for dinner after shopping, and we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while. Later we were joined by a family and someone picking up Take Out, but they did not seem very busy. The cashier(owners daughter I gathered), was friendly enough. Although afterwards, she was significantly more friendly towards the other patrons. They all, however, seemed to be regulars. It seemed like you get exceptional service if you’re a regular, but a newcomer, not as much. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. My falafels were very good. The rice was average. The salad was fresh and the dressing was good. My husband enjoyed his Gyro plate. The inside is cute and comfortable.
