My daughter has been taking singing lessons from Spencer for the past 1 ½ years. She really loves his style of teaching and looks forward to his weekly lessons. As a parent, I appreciate that not only is Spencer teaching her how to sing, he is also teaching her music theory. Having this exposure will help not only with singing but also with song writing. As a passive observer, I’ve learned a lot just listening to him and I have no music background!
Spencer also teaches Glee at Hillcrest and the performance his students give is amazing. It is frequently the best part of the performance night and everyone looks forward to hearing these kids perform.
Additionally, Spencer has a wonderful rapport with the students. He talks to his students, not down to them. He has a great way with kids of all ages.
We also love the studio mascot Otis!

Spencer has a gift, not just for knowledge of all kinds of music but for communicating his love and enthusiasm to his students. He truly amazes us with his talent. He is also the most gifted and fun teacher I have ever met. He relates so well to all the age groups. My grandaughter is a young teen and has been taking singing lessons from Spencer for the past year. It is really great to see the expansion she has made in her vocal range. His patience and support are always there and he seems to know the right thing to do or say to make the lessons valuable to her. She loves going to lessons, I love going with her, they are fun. Last summer she took the Jr. Diva camp it was so great and a fun learning experience for her. She can hardly wait for this summers camp. Now Spencer is encourageing her to learn to play the guitar, she is very excited about the possibilities that will open to her. She has also had the joy of taking glee classes that Spencer teaches at her middle school. To quote her «Spencer is AWESOME ! »

My daughter has had and continues to have an incredibly solid and enriching experience taking lessons from Spencer. She is 11 now and has been taking guitar and singing lessons for 2 years. This past summer she took his Diva Jr camp for singer/​songwriters and Rock Band Camp. She pushed through some tremendous stage fright with gentle unwavering support from Spencer. It was an awesome growth experience on many levels! Spencer is a very accomplished and passionate musician combined with a cool human being combined with an approachable and gifted teacher. It doesn’t get better than this.

My son is 14 and has been taking piano lessons since he was 5. He was really starting to loose interest two years ago and wanted to quit. I switched him to Spencer at Great Burrow Studio and within one lesson he was loving piano. He plays for an hour or more a day and just loves it. He also did Rock Band Camp and loved that too.
He wrote this about the studio: This is a great place to take music lessons as Spencer Burrows is the best music teacher I have ever met. He taught my entire band to play very well together in the space of a week. The acoustics are very good and he is just generally awesome.
