Mane Event

Been coming back to Lexi for 7 months now every 6 weeks on the dot. I was having a lot of hair issues due to an iron deficiency. She really took the time to be gentle with my hair during the regrow the process. And we finally both decided it was healthy enough to dye again. I got all over foils and I love how it looks. It’s the perfect blonde for summer! I highly recommend anyone in the area to go to Lexi!

Lexi did my nails today;they were wonderful. She is so friendly and has a talent with nails. Unlike others, she takes time to get to know you, while doing your nails. I didn’t have to wait and she greeted me very nicely. The salon has a great environment and kept me very comfortable. THANKS LEXI :)

Lexi is awesome! She was very sweet and tried to do as much as she could in time squeeze. As a fellow member of the OCD club, I appreciated her perfectionist attitude. Never had such pretty gel nails, not bumpy/​gell-​y looking at all. I’ve gotten tons of compliments on my hands and toes! Def coming back! Scrubs are also really amazing and I believe handmade.

Lexi is fabulous! Not only did she stay late to squeeze me into the day, she gave me a great mani-​pedi! She makes a wonderful scrub too! Thank you Lexi!

Finding a new stylist is harder than picking a new OB/​GYN — and my last experience at an upscale Santa Rosa salon left my hair shorter by 7 inches than what i asked for and more crooked than Lombard.
After months of searching (over 6 to be exact) I decided to give Lexi a try at Mane Event. She did not disappoint.
I was greeted immediately and did not have to wait more than 5 minutes before Lexi came to get me. I had brought in pictures of different color ideas I was circling around and Lexi was quick to discourage me from going lighter or over-​processing my hair. Bonus for her that she put what was best for me above a higher cost color process. She really took the time to walk me through what choices she felt would work best with my hair.
As far as cut, she did exactly as I asked for — a light trim of 1 – 1.5 inches to even out the wreck my previous stylist left me with.
My color turned out gorgeous, rich and vibrant. The cut repaired the errors.
I was surprised when Lexi mentioned she only graduated last April, which honestly made me a little nervous. But her conscience effort to actively listen and take the time to make sure every little cut was just perfect dissipated any concerns by the end.
I was very happy with my experience and look forward to seeing Lexi again.
For reference, I have longish hair with a simple straight, long layer cut. My hair is course and a bit wavy and even though my cut is pretty simple I have found that my waves make for a challenge in getting cuts right. Lexi managed my mane perfectly.

I moved to Sonoma county 6 months ago and have yet to establish a regular nail salon. I purchased a groupon for a mani/​pedi and am very pleased. It was a little difficult to get an appointment but once we did, we were so happy! My friend and I went together and the nail room is separate from the rest of the salon. There are only 2 work stations so it was very private. This is the first salon I have EVER found with american, english speaking technicians! Our girls Megan and Lexy were very pleasant and it was so nice to be able to converse with them and have them understand our wants and needs. They even served us champagne! We liked it so much we went back after lunch to set an appointment for next month. I have found my regular salon! They even do hair and massage. I’ll be trying these services soon.

Nervous about getting a new stylist with my move to Sebastopol — I am happy to report that Megan did a fantastic job! Mane Event will bwe my salon from now on!

After years of cutting my own hair and going to California cuts, I decided to spend a little more (than $ 15) and go to a reputable salon. I have curly, fine hair that generally looks like crap and I can’t wear it down… I had Lexi do an A-​line but pretty much left the length to her discretion. She did an amazing job and my hair looks fantastic. She works incredibly well with challenging hair. I’m constantly getting compliments on my hair and have never had a hairstyle I truly loved until now. She’s thorough and knowledgeable– see Lexi.

Great cut, great color, and fantastic stylists. Listened to what I wanted and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Bustling salon, nice atmosphere. Had hair cut and highlights with Nini. She does a great job!

This review is for a mani pedi only. I have not had any other services. But with this being said, this place is so cute. I love love love Megan. She is pleasant, super funny, and knows her trade. She did the best pedicure on my feet and they looked amazing. And I have ugly toes. But she worked crazy magic and made them look beautiful. My nail polish is still on my fingers which is great considering I always manage to chip in. But she did a fantastic job and I definitely will come back and see her again. The salon is clean, and the women working there are friendly. Megan is extremely clean and I appreciate that being that I have been to some nail spots that are straight up nasty. She is my go to nail lady now.

I found out about this place by purchasing a deal on Groupon. Megan did a wonderful job of giving life back to my long hair! She cut off the amount she said she was going to which is always a relief for me because I like my hair on the longer side and some stylists go a little crazy with cutting. My hair was long and ratty and is now soft and flowy with some long layers. She knows what she is doing with those scissors! Also, the salon had a lovely atmosphere.

Robby was absolutely wonderful! They made time for me immediately and did a great job on my hair! The whole salon has an excellent vibe and everyone there made me feel welcome and comfortable!

I visited Mane Event after purchasing a manicure /​pedicure Groupon. Alana took care of me and she was amazing. I was brought into a separate room from the salon which was very comfortable and relaxing. Easily one of the best mani/​pedis I’ve ever gotten! She was super sweet, took her time, and was very intuitive in knowing that I don’t like to talk a whole lot. I will 100% be going back here!

My experience at Mane salon was the best I’ve had in years.
Being tired of the nail mills with the noisy massage chairs and about 50 customers lined up in them and being rushed in and out as fast as humanly possible while listening to foreign language conversations and getting a mediocre job to boot, I was looking for a different kind of pedicure and I found it at Mane Event.
No there is not a massage chair — just a sweet and very comfortable seat and nice warm water to rest my feet in during the pedicure. Megan is meticulous and so very gentle, the room is quiet and relaxing and she and I were the only ones there as it is definitely not a huge, impersonal operation.
After having read articles about these nail mills and how some of them are exploiting their workers and not even allowing them to keep their tips, i am wary about going to them now. There is no danger of that here. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is friendly and peaceful.

Update: Salon has lost 1 star (luckily only 1) due to calling and being told that my appointment was at the wrong time, quite shocking, I knew when it was and was shocked but she insisted it was 1230, rather than 12! That just cost me my appointment that I have been trying to get forever!!! AND may cost this salon more than one client, I have been so happy with the services here and with both Megan and Alana! Megan is GREAT and is not responsible for this at all! Maybe she should be the manager? I have my sons haircut by Alana and trying to get my local family and friends to switch to a local spot to help our community and also because I have had such great experiences here. Not anymore. :-(Boo! I am really trying to not allow this one REALLY messed up experience ruin this place for me, but this literally could not be worse timing!!! This is completely unacceptable!
The woman who answered the phone gave me false information and I find this unprofessional. Maybe they should hire someone who is efficient and will not lose business from loyal clients and lose any possible word of mouth. Sorry, but I am pissed and this is exactly how I feel atm! Megan is amazing! Don’t get that wrong and maybe if you come here, try talking to her only or Alana… and trust yourself and the appointment you made, if you have a question about it, MAKE SURE to talk to the person your appointment is with. Both Megan and Alana are young, talented, vibrant, excellent at their professions and I know Megan is able to read correct appointment times or make sure she isn’t getting 2 different people mixed up. Excellent multitaskers! This is an update from today’s April, 2016 experience.
And if Megan wasn’t so flipping awesome, I would be taking this straight down to 1 star. Time is money! I would never intentionally waste someone’s time, like I have just done to Megan. I feel bad, but this is not my fault. I am grateful that she understands and has been so apologetic for something she did not do. That’s how professionals act. Way to go Megan! Thank you for being you! I will reschedule my manicure and come back. And hopefully in the future this won’t happen again. Thank you again for even apologizing for something that was not at all your mistake! I hope that person gets it together or realizes she may be past her prime and needs to focus on her grand baby, rather than messing someone’s day, actually not just this part of my day and Megan’s day, but also my vacation! Ugh!
This mani/​pedi is $ 85 does that sound like a price you would pay for this type of treatment? I expect the very best for prices like that. I can go down the street and get a mani/​pedi down the street for half the price and they have those massage chairs, etc. the set up is a little different here. No massage chairs, a very comfy chair and a portable spa pedicure for your feet. So, don’t get your hopes up for the massage chair.

5 stars for Megan (mani-​pedi) she was delightful to talk to, it was a very relaxing experience and she was incredibly thorough with her expert pedicure! 4 stars for my beautiful manicure, but definitely a 5 star experience. :) I think she may have been pressed for time and I was a groupon customer.
I was made aware that they did not have the chairs that most salons do, no worries… it was heaven without a specific chair. Their chairs were very comfy and I could stretch out, Basically, it was divine and comfortable. :-)
I was greeted immediately with a smile and they let me know Megan would be right with me, I was early. Megan came and brought me in almost 5 minutes early! I was very pleased and was not expecting to be taken care of so promptly! Extra stars. ;) I wish I could give extra stars for these types of establishments.
Megan is personable, charming, fun to talk to and really puts you at ease, same with the lovely woman working next to her. I was so relaxed and pleased, I will definitely be coming back!

Multiple experiences 2015 and 16: Small update review: came back to get my sons hair cut by Alana, yesssss! She is amazing! Great with kids and a really nice haircut! He was looking quite sharp! Time for another! So happy we found this place by accident. :-)) I have tried to get in for another mani-​pedi but their business is booming! Way to go! I’ll try again soon, I asked for a same day appointment, that is always hard to get at a good salon. ;-)

I called three times to try to make an appointment. Left one message, never heard back from anyone. Other two times I called the person who answered was too busy to schedule an appointment for me. I gave up trying and now I go to Reframe in the Barlow: I love going there.

I recently moved to Petaluma and was having trouble finding someone to do my hair, I had been going to the same stylist in southern California for 7 years and was very picky. After a referral from a friend I went in to see Alana and I could not have been happier with the results, she is amazing!
She was so sweet and very clearly communicated all her ideas, concerns, and her treatment plan for my hair. She answered all my questions and put me at ease.
She was charming, friendly, and actually wanted to know more about me. I could tell she was genuine and not just making small talk, which was really refreshing. Not to mention she gave me the best head massage I have ever had!
I have been getting so many compliments on my cut and color, many of my friends (even the ones who live in San Francisco!) have been making appointments with her.
I have officially made the switch to having my hair done by Alana full time, she is fantastic! I wish I had found her sooner!
I am very happy with all my services at Mane Event and look forward to being a client for years to come!
