Ives Pool

Love swimming here. Patrons are very nice and so is the staff. The locker room floor is gross so bring your flip flops. I’d like to see a fundraiser to update and expand the locker rooms. They are pretty funky.

I am really impressed with the level of competency the children’s program instructors clearly have. I am even more impressed with the instructor who does level 3 for the kids. She has super high energy, good/​happy/​joyful vibes and I noticed a fun and engaging experience for her group of kids! Noticeably awesome! I hope she is the teacher or still teaching swim, when my son reaches that level. :)) He had been looking forward to these lessons this past month, if not longer and LOVES them and his teacher, Allison! When I originally wrote this, we were only 2 days in. ;) Allison is another amazing, engaging and all around fabulous swim instructor, especially for the littler ones! She is extremely creative in how she makes it even more fun, when swimming already is so much fun! Its so great to watch! In just 2 days, he advanced so much faster than I ever imagined! And a week in… wow! I am definitely pleased, proud and impressed! :) Thank you Ives and thank you Allison! I look forward to those sessions and I am only the observer. ;) It’s beautiful to watch our next generation learn and get excited about it!
These programs are also EXTREMELY affordable!!! Yes, please and thank you! We used the excess money we saved on this lesson, for another lesson/​session! :)) Right on!
The pool area is big, clean and there is a vigilant lifeguard at all times. There are 2 pools (One for the kids and one for the big kids) and both are crystal clean. There is also a nice grassy area to lay out, if thats what you like. :) The locker/​shower rooms could be better, but definitely could be worse. Just wear sandals and you are good. ;) plus this is inside ives park, so if you are with yout mini, bam… picnic tables for lunch or a snack and a park to play at! I would say there is a mix of personalities in regards to the employees, like most larger businesses. I say this only because…
When we originally signed up (at least a month ago), we had an extremely informative employee helping us. :)) She was GREAT! I wish I got her name. What a great experience! :) She was helpful, knowledgeable, had a great attitude, smile, multi tasked with both ease and grace, plus answered all our questions with clarity. This was our first experience with this establishment. Thank goodness! Triple extra points! ;) Maybe she set the bar «too» high? Nah… there is no such thing at «too good», when it comes to customer service.
Our first day, we showed up at the front door (there is a giant sign, you can’t miss it, lol) and explained this was our first lesson to a different young lady at the front desk. I asked as many questions as I was able to, when «checking in» and was left feeling very confused and even like I had just bothered the person who’s job is to help me. We figured it out… but we had to wing it. No biggie for me, just something to be aware of. But hopefully you won’t have a similar experience with that.
Constructive criticism: It would be helpful if whoever is working the front desk gave information to new members on where to go once checked in, what the instructors name is and most importantly, an idea about the entrance/​locker room situation. The bathroom/​shower/​locker room issue is really important for parents (well it is for me) especially Mom’s with boys and Dad’s with girls over the age of 5. There just seemed to be quite a few important details that would have made our first day of swim lessons much smoother. But regardless of that minor issue, this establishment is the
! By the way, I found out my son’s instructors name and it’s Allison… she ROCKS!!! Seriously! I am beyond impressed and feel blessed that we got her!!! Yessss!!!
For any parents with opposite sex children over 5 years old: To get to the pool, you go through the locker room which has open showers. Unfortunately, there is no other way. Children over 5 are not allowed in the opposite sex bathrooms and my son just turned 6… I have asked for his retired grandfather to meet us at the pool for each lesson and everything is working out great! :)) Thank goodness he is retired and is the best grandpa in the world! :) Just a heads up.
I am looking forward to checking out family swim and what other programs Ives Pool has to offer! :) Keepin it local! They really do a great job! But I have to keep myself honest and give the constructive criticism that I would want and aporeciate. Ives has been around since I can remember! I look forward to when I’m a grandma and tell the stories about way back when their Dad learned to swim here. :))

Awesome affordable swim classes for the kids! My daughter improved almost right away and loved all of the coaches she had.
The only way to get to the pool is through the locker rooms so it was quite the effort when she didn’t want to go through men’s room with my husband. Luckily she was just old enough to be able to dress herself and make it out in time for class before he got too worried and had to fetch her.
If you are new to the classes and are bringing your child make sure you get there a little early so you can snag a spot in the shade. They fill up quickly!

My update is just that ‘Sandy’ is the Sunday instructor and she’s awesome. So cool and she plays these awesome playlists of music — it’s the perfect way to start the day on a Sunday. I’m always thrilled after a morning at this pool — great staff, clean pool and very green. They use many solar panels to heat up and run the pool. Awesome.
And 24 hr fitness is not more like 78 F — which is cold as HECK for us humans.

Fantastic place! The employees are so incrrdibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is an ideal place for family fun. Ives pool is also a great place for swimming lessons! The instructors are amazing and the students experience great results!

Nice place to swim. Cool members. Locker room is a bit funky and could be kept up a bit cleaner. It is fair price. Love that it has solar to heat the pool and open year round. But bring sandals to wear in the locker room…
