Very friendly tasting rooms staff and we loved the cheese pairings. The Chardonnay and pinot noir were standouts. The bf also liked the dessert wine. Since this is a boutique winery, the shipping costs made it prohibitive to join the wine club and their wines tend to be in the pricey end but definitely worth a stop!

We are wine club members and have been here three times. The folks behind the counter are always helpful and friendly, and they do tasty food pairings. We love their reds and their whites, but the pinots are certainly the star. Highly recommended!

This was one of my favorite wineries in all of Napa & Sonoma. We were greeted by the friendliest staff who served us a cheese pairing to go along with the wine tasting. We even got a homemade chocolate chip cookie to go with the dessert wine. This small quaint little tasting room complete with lovely staff was what made this winery so special. We chatted with some locals as we tasted and took home a bottle of sauv blanc. I would highly recommend. This place is so charming — great wines too!

Nice white and red wines, seems like a change in management of the tasting room, and for the better.

Great wines, great people. We liked enough of their wine to join their wine club. Their Thomas Road pinot noir is exquisite. It’s twice as good as the Iron Horse Vineyards wine form the same location and half the price. Update: After a year plus as club members, we continue to be pleased with every wine we taste here. The staff are always courteous and professional, and we look forward to every visit.

This place is great! I love the family feel(they have three daughters who some of the wine is named after). Very friendly. Love their Chardonnay! Great spot!

I really liked this understated spot. I love when they do food pairings and they did this here. Also, love when they finish with dessert wine. They treated us very well.

We had a lovely experience with the ambassador here. She was knowledgeable and friendly. I ending up purchasing a Chardonnay, which is unheard of from the Zinfandel lover! It is completely different from any other Chardonnay, I’ve ever had. It was fruity and clean without being too sweet, and didn’t have all that butter like Chardonnay usually does. The only reason I can’t rate this winery higher is the lack of true selection. The was a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Chardonnay, and two Pinot Noirs. That’s it. Too meager for truly enjoyable tasting, in my opinion.

Wines were delicious. And thanks to Kat for going above and beyond. We arrived around 4:15 thinking they were open until 5 but they were set to close at 4:30. We wanted to picnic and get one winery in since my brothers flight was delayed. We were set to go somewhere else but Kat accommodated us from the start, we stayed and it was a great experience.

One of the best places to go in Russian River. Currently my favorite Pinot Noir and Sauvignon blanc in RRV. Incredibly high quality, expressive wines. And even though Merry Edwards has the highest rated SB in history, Dutton blows her SB out of the water!(and at a better price point. PS — merry sources from the dutton vineyards for her SB!$ And their hospitality is FAR superior — very knowledgeable yet unpretentious and genuine. If you enjoy Pinot, this is a must stop.

A small, quaint winery in the Russian River Valley, Dutton Estate was actually an impromptu visit as I had mistaken it for Dutton-Goldfield. Seeing as we were already there though, my friends and I figured why not. Two tastings are offered at reasonable prices and the cost is waived if you buy a bottle(note: each flight has a minimum bottle purchase amount). I went with the reserve tasting and found the chardonnay and one of the pinot noirs to be quite good. However, they weren’t nearly worth the hefty price tags. Additionally, the place is much more Napa-esque as you just go up to the bar, make your way through the wines and then decide on what you want. Our server was very friendly and made it a pleasant visit, but if you’re looking for a legit wine tasting experience… you’d be better off looking elsewhere.

The tasting room is located in a converted old house — very cute. It was a weekday during the holidays, so the room wasn’t too busy and we had the undivided attention of the hostess — who was very accommodating and friendly. We weren’t in the mood for white wine, so skipped directly to the reds. Our tasting included a few Pinots and a Zin. None were blow-your-socks off, but all lovely, food-friendly wines. Ended up walking out with a bottle of their 2008 Russian River Valley Pinot(92 points on WS; 93 point one was already sold out). Good find!

Very good wine — pinot, sav blanc and chards. Sadly, they hold back some wines for their club — ok, all top producers do that. The staff is friendly. The tasting bar is a little small and can get crowded, but the space is big and they are good at accommodating people.

So this was our last stop of day one on our Sonoma wine tasting adventure and what a pleasant way to end the day. When I saw the people leaving coming out with 2 cases of wine I knew it was going to be a good stop. We got there about 4:30 and they close at 5:00 but we never felt rushed. Me and my two friends were the only ones in there so I’m sure that helped, we got excellent service. The lady helping us was so friendly and told us all about the winery and the wines explaining where each vineyard was and how the location affected the wine and so on. And the wines oh the wines, I liked them all, I fell in love with the Manzana Pinot. Not only are the wines delicious but very reasonably priced. My friends actually ended up joining their club because they liked all the wines so much and their wine club is pretty flexible I think you can get as little as two bottles a shipment which is kind of nice. Dutton turned out to be one of our favorites of the trip, so glad we squeezed in one more before calling it a day.

The pregnant and/or overweight hostess in her late 20’s could not contain her contempt for our social status and was generally unpleasant. The advertised wine and food pairings were just wine a half hour before closing and we left rather than pay for a half-assed offering. I’d recommend somewhere else.

My hubby and I had a really good experience here. The wines were on par with many more $$$ places we’ve been in the past and we shared a tasting for $ 5.00 which included complimentary food(Quiche Lorraine). Our pourer was a friendly lady from Austria and fellow lab owner and I had a blast. They also carry some Kozlowski Farms products for about 25 to 50 cents more than at KF’s farm store(but much less than the local markets) so if you aren’t going up to Forestville(or won’t make it there by the 5pm closing) this is also a good option to buy a few choice Kozlowski products as well. Since we had just come from Kozlowski Farms we didn’t bother with any of that but we did get the $ 20 Chardonnay which has a nice light fruitiness to it perfect for summer drinking.

2.5… If you’re into Pinot Niors, this is the place for you. Many accolades for their estate wines, thus our trek to get to this small winery. It was literally a house, not what I expected. Yes it was cute and quaint, but it did get busy for the two people who worked there. We weren’t sure how the pairing went. We weren’t explained about how the tastings/pairings worked so we just started trying different wines. At least, they provided some homemade snacks on the side to curb the alchy in the system. For me, the Pinots were a bit strong for my palate and I opted to try the whites offered on the tasting. I wasn’t a fan so motioned my way over to the chocolate cookies. The tasting fee is waived/applied to a purchase. We did walk away with a bottle($ 40), although the bottles were fairly $$$.

This is the place to go if you want some good valued Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot. I really liked their $ 20 per couple cheese and wine pairing. The people were very friendly and laid back which really fit this wonderful boutique cozy winery. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a lovely time tasting here and ended up buying a half-case of 4 chardonnays and 2 red wines, both high-scoring in Wine Enthusiast. We did taste for free, sice we had a coupon from the place we stayed at(Applewood Inn). The young woman who helped us(straight brown hair, described in other reviews) was very pleasant without being overbearing. We went on several other tastings in Sonoma County but these wines were our favorite!

$ 15 for reserve wines. $ 5 for estate(regular tasting) – or I might have these mixed up… Fees waived if you make a purchase. Our server helped to make our experience as unpleasant & uncomfortable as possible. Too many delicious wines and lovely people in the area to make this a place I’d consider returning.
