Zia Hair Salon

I just moved to Seattle this summer and started to go to Amy for my cuts and highlights. She has done a phenomenal job both times!
Previously, I had been going to the same gal in San Diego for years… When I went back for a quick visit and touchup (in between visits to Amy) she even complemented Amy’s technique and the great cut that Amy had given me.
I highly recommend Amy to anyone in the Seattle area!

Amy’s been cutting my boyfriend’s hair for almost a year now and I think she’s been doing an ok job. He doesn’t seem to ever be satisfied with anyone since he has an un-​tameable cowlick, but I think Amy is good because:
1. Reasonable prices ($ 25)
2. Flexible schedule — she always manages to fit him in when he calls day of
3. Proximity to where we live
4. His «After» is always better than his «Before»

I just got a wonderful hair cut and look super. Not only did Amy give me ideas about possibilities, she analyzed my face shape and talked about different ways to style my hair to help me look my best.
She is friendly, very accurate and professional. I look younger, prettier and that makes me feel great! Look out world!

I just wasn’t impressed. She made no attempt to match the hair dye to my natural color as I requested, and after it didn’t turn out well she said. «Oh, well, we’ll just have to leave it on longer next time»

I have found the best hair salon in Seattle! Amy is awesome — I went in asking for a drastic change and she made it happen. The salon is bright and beautiful, the services are extremely reasonably priced and Amy is quite the expert at both cut and color. I can’t say enough good thingrs about Zia. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

YAY! It feels like I’ve been searching for my perfect hair salon for ages… and I’ve finally found it! YAY YAY YAAAYY!
Like most good things in life, I came across Zia Salon unexpectedly. My hair was looking like a stray dog’s fur and I was DETERMINED to get my hair done THAT DAY, but couldn’t get an appointment at my usual place. Zia had a sign in the window that said «walk ins welcome.» So I walked in.
Amy is truly amazing. She squeezed me in at 6pm between four previous appointments, and kept us all engaged in laidback conversation while she sprinted around her little shop. And even better, she gave me EXACTLY what I wanted. It’s hard to find a stylist who can appreciate my long, fine hair, and she gave me a beautiful trim. And my highlights? Her technique was flawless, the color is fabulous, and I get compliments every single day. Did I mention AFFORDABLE? I would have paid twice as much for the same results, easily.
Her approach isn’t as polished as some of the trendy boutique places– but I liked that. She’s so casual I kind of felt like I was getting my hair done in my friend’s apartment. The whole experience was fun, my hair turned out great and I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been going to Amy at Zia for over ten years now & have always received compliments from my friends and co-​workers after each appointment. She is great with both cut & color. And, her prices are super.
The friend who recommended her had been going to Amy for years when she lived nearby. Now that she lives in California, she makes it a point to schedule an appointment when she is in town!

Ok, you ever get the idea in your head that you want a haircut and then obsess about it all day until you finally decide at 5:30 on a Friday that you must go get one right after work? Well I did a few weeks ago so I called around to various pricey salons in Wallingford and couldn’t get in.
I happened to drive by Zia on the way home, and behold the neon «walk-​ins welcome» sign. Waited 5 minutes and got a great cut for $ 30 without an appointment. Amy was really nice and helpful and actually listened to what I wanted. Clean, bright, nice place and very friendly. Also, the woman there before walked out with a really cute cut and color and seemed really happy about it. Definitely going back again.

These people are a the good choice to manage that shaggy mop on yo head locally.
At the time of this posting, they’ve been around for 14 years. That’s some staying power.
The nice woman managing my mane also mentioned that my last haircut at Spin’s was «interesting.» She then showed me how lopsided those skateboarding hipsters cut it and how she would be able to cover it up while it grew out a bit.
I thought that it was very Seattle how she didn’t say that they were a bunch of incompetent douches, but that they did «interesting» work. How sweet! Thanks for the poorly executed and pricey haircut, Spin and pals!
So in addition to cleaning up the damage from my last cut as performed by non-​barber-​hipsters, she also took the time to show me how to style myself in the current «I just got out of bed after having a lot of sex» disheveled hair styling that I’ve always had trouble replicating intentionally. It was considerate for her to take the time. Perhaps I’ll be able to remember how to do it now.
I believe they also provide various mysterious girl-​centric hair and beauty services which I do not comprehend.
They are also usually quite busy, so calling ahead to make an appointment is a good idea. If you walk in and they’re unable to serve you, please do not emo out and post a bad review because they’re busy working and aren’t sitting around waiting for you to show up.
