Decided to stop by for the first time because I was craving some bubble tea and I happened to be in U-District. I went with their black milk tea with tapioca. The tapioca is usually a hit or miss for me for a lot of the bubble tea shops I’ve tried in Seattle, but I’m happy to say this place didn’t disappoint. Overall, the tea was pretty damn good. A normal tea costs $ 3.20 and after adding tapiocas, tax, and tip, I ended up paying a little over $ 5. Not the cheapest all things considered. In terms of atmosphere, this place has a nice cozy feel to it. Decent number of tables too, and there were a few people here studying on a Sunday afternoon.

True story: Yum, bubble tea! So good. Love that tapioca! :suuuuck: wait, that pearl feels weird, better spit it out. Oh good, a cockroach. No more bubble tea for me ever again. Thanks Yunnie!

As I am a person who always gets blended bubble tea, Yunnie is my favorite place on the Ave. Unlike other bubble tea places in the area, they actually use real fruit in their fruit-flavored blended bubble tea. Occasionally you’ll even get chunks of the fruit coming up your straw. As other reviews have mentioned, they are often short staffed so prepare to have a bit of a wait if you go during their busy times. The store itself is very clean by Ave standards and is a great place to study, although the tables tend to fill up quickly.

The drinks are really good. It’s about the attitude of the staff, I have been ordering the same milk tea for years. When I went there tonight, the new staff has been talking with her friends while she was taking my order. I ordered a hot drink, and she gave me a cold one. She seems so pissed off when I told her I ordered a hot one, and she said there never been a hot milk tea. I have been ordering the same flavor for two years, and she told me there is no hot one??? She re-made the hot one for me, but it tastes completely different from what I have everyday. I told her it is not the taste of what I have everyday, and she just said«If you don’t like it, YOUCANJUSTTHROWITAWAY!» and she even said«I SEENOPROBLEM in our drinks!» Are you serious?

Spring is here and their Watermelon Slushie is delicious! This bubble tea café has been here for ages and what makes it so unique is that it constantly is changing up the décor. You can view photos from back in early 2000 on their wall in the back on the left as you enter. Make sure to get the watermelon slushie! They are simply magnificent and just a great refreshing drink when its sunny and hot out.

This is my fav bubble tea place. I ALWAYS order Purple Hawaii, which is a mix of coconut & tara — so bomb! If the prices of the drinks were cheaper, I would literally come here every day… But as of right now, I come here every week.

Usually they have great tea and can be a little slow… today, they’re getting a lot of orders wrong. They entered one of our drinks wrong, and when we got it and asked for it to be corrected, they just showed us the receipt. We pushed for it to be fixed and got a bunch of attitude. Slammed the remade drink down too. We ordered some drinks. We didn’t order a side of attitude, but thanks anyway…

I became a huge fan of this place after trying different bubble tea places. Yunnie bubble tea offers so many great flavors and shakes. Love their avocado shake! Awesome tapioca and other toppings

Best bubble tea I have us in a while. Had the passion fruit milkshake and it was pretty nice. This place has a huge menu and tons of combinations, sure to have something you’ll enjoy. The spot is big and has lots of room to hang out and study. Consistently good bubble tea.

I have curated and hosted several networking events from the UW community at this bubble tea shop. Great chill place in a convenient location on the Ave. Large space perfect for gatherings like meetups and social mixers.

There are a lot of bubble tea options on the ave and I think Yunnie offers the best package all around. Yunnie doesn’t only have great bubble tea, but it is also a nice, cozy place to study. The bubble tea I’ve had here is quite consistant, but I haven’t ventured into trying a lot of different flavors. My favorite has always been the black milk tea with boba and i can say its been so good that i rarely venture beyond it. Sometimes they can be understaffed. Usually they only have one person working both the register and making the drinks so it can be a long wait. At other times it is okay. Compared to some of the other boba tea places like meesum and sharetea, their milktea is on par, but the other boba tea places do not provide as good of a studying environment. They also offer some cookies and a lot of other asian snacks if you get hungry, but unlike meesum they have no substantial food. Overall, Yunnie is a great, simple place to get drinks with a friend a study or do homework.

Green apple /Raspberry Icy With Tapioca Try it and you will like it. If you feel crazy get the rainbow jelly too. It’s not your standard milk tea.

Great for a little break while exploring the UW area. Portions are huge! I had a Thai ice tea shake with tapioca, which was quite satisfying.

My friends and I were craving some bubble tea, so we stopped in after lunch. I got the mango tea blended with ice. It was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness and the tapioca balls were a really nice texture. There were pieces of mango in the drink, which was awesome. The lady who served us was friendly, but not especially helpful. I think she misunderstood my question. Unfortunately, it was almost $ 5 for my tea, a little pricier than I would have liked. My friend got a hot tea and it was well over $ 3, seems a bit much.

We have a craving for this place once a week. LOVE the Ginger Milk Tea(tastes like gingerbread) and the Taro Milk Tea. Tiny selection of snackage but each time we’ve come in the past couple of months it has grown, so I guess they’re working on it. Constant stream of customers(it IS near the college, afterall) but service is still speedy. Needing more munchery is my only complaint.

This place has always been a hit or miss for me. On some days, the boba here is definitely on point, from the yummy texture of a blended drink to the nice balance of milk and tea. On other days, you can definitely taste the powder residue left in the milk tea or spend quite a bit of time waiting for your drink as there was limited staff. Haven’t been here in a couple of years but it looks like there has been some changes. Prices have definitely increased, the interior looks slightly newer and overall, if you’re a student and have membership to one of the RSO(registered student organization), Yunnie still honors the 10% discount. Tried an avocado shake here and a peach milk tea. The avocado shake was a bit thick on the milk blended in so the avocado flavor was a bit lost. As for the peach milk tea, love the flavor but I wish the drink was made a wee bit better to mask the powder residue. Also, Yunnie definitely does need a bigger staff. The one person who was working had to do both the register + drinks making, so wait time was a bit long. This is a great place to meet up with friends /do school work since there are numerous tables and chairs about. For higher quality of boba though, I would recommend other places down the ave who consistently makes yummy drinks.

I’ve been here at least 15+ times now. Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place on Unilocal. Yunnie is one of my favorite places to get bubble tea. I only get their milkshakes though. My number one fav is Pina Colada. I feel like this place adds WAY too much sugar though. Whenever I order my drink, I always tell them«No additional sugar». Note: They don’t do paper punch card. Download the app called«Stampt» to collect your stamps :)

I went to Yunnie’s again today for the first time in several years. They’ve made some changes, including a remodel that moved the counter to the back of the room, freeing up more space for tables. With the darker walls and track lighting, it looks like they’re trying to go for a more classy vibe, and the couches and coffee tables are now gone in favor of more café-style tables. It appears they don’t offer frozen yogurt anymore(sad face). But they still have some interesting flavors like rose, and more jelly choices than a lot of places(I’m fond of the lychee jelly.) Unfortunately, there was only one employee working that I could see, and service was consequently slow. I think we waited like 10 minutes for our drinks. :( They have AC, which makes it a nice place to sit during the summer. I think that if they’re trying to go for a more«classy» vibe though they really need to fix up their bathroom. It’s covered in graffiti, which was acceptable in 2004 and might be okay if they were trying to go for a more«urban» look, but I think it’s tacky and ugly and clashes with their overall aesthetic. The front of the TP dispenser is missing and when I tried to take some it fell off the dispenser and rolled all the way across the room! This is not an ideal situation for obvious reasons. It’s not like I could«reel it in», it would just keep rolling! Awkward. Also when I washed my hands, the faucet fixture was loose and kept moving around. My drink(rose milk tea with lychee jelly) was tasty, though.

Came here on a Sunday night before hitting up the space needle because I was craving bubble tea. The guy at the counter was extremely nice and explained everything as if I wasn’t Asian which made me laugh inside but I didn’t want to make him feel bad so I just let him go on with how bubble tea works and where it came from and what not until I finally got to order. I tried the matcha with little pearls and it was quite delicious. In Vancouver there are bubble tea places on nearly every corner of the city and only a few of them are above decent and even fewer are good/great but I know a good place when I try it ;) The ice was nicely blended and the taste was quite delicious. The pearls weren’t bad but nothing special really. The reason I’d rate this as a 4 is because of the service, the guy was really nice and even chatted about what we were up to that night which isn’t something super common at most bubble tea places. Maybe I got lucky and got a nice guy who was having a good night? I never saw anyone else working their at the time though so I’m not too sure of the bad customer service others experienced before. Sketchy spot on Uni Way on weekend nights but the restaurant is very big and nice on the inside with board games you can play if you want to so I enjoyed the experience.

Girlfriend and I had a good laugh at some of the newspaper articles posted up there. «Best sushi in seattle: Blue C sushi» hahah! Circa early 2000’s. This boba tea store is small, intimate, and has the flavors you want and need. Fresh fruit has milk, cream, fruit, and syrup. I opted out of the syrup since I ordered avocado & lychee(which already is an extra sweet fruit). That combination is awesome! Yunnies is cute and well stocked. The staff member did not get upset with me asking too many questions. I take my fresh fruit boba pretty seriously, so it probably went on for about 5 minutes. Just make sure to use your punch-card within 6 months because it expires afterwards!
