Avoid this place. They have a sign up prohibiting anyone with hoodies from entering. I walked out as soon as I saw the sign. It’s unfortunate to see racism perpetuated by a seemingly innocent small business. I’m white and I refuse to fund discrimination.

My boyfriend and I were on a long walk on a nice day and decided to stop here for some soda or juice. The moment we walked in we saw a big, printed sign saying«NOHOODIESNOBEANIES» Both he and I were wearing hoodies as it was your typical overcast but still warmish Seattle day. In fact, many people walking around this area had hoodies and sweatshirts. Hoodies and beanies are pretty standard in Seattle. But I am guessing we would have gotten service just fine because we are a cute, young, white couple. I refused to spend money here. I’ll save my dollars for non racist shopowners.

This should be the local market. It’s actually around the corner a bit. You may not see it until you go down 29th a bit. There’s a couple that usually works the counter, both are super nice and friendly and I like having this as my local market. There’s some frozen vegetarian food in the back, usual limited flavors of soy ice cream as well. It’s a standard little market but they have a number of the«organic» brands which I regularly buy so it’s nice to be able to recognize the products I frequent without paying a lot of attention. They’re usually open when I need them, except late. They were open today on thanksgiving so I could grab some beer on my way out to a party. There’s parking right out front with is plentiful enough if you’re driving by. While they certainly lack the inventory of a larger grocery, the friendliness makes me prefer coming here. $ 0.50 charge for debit cards and all that stupidness like most of the gas stations/small groceries in town.
