The vegan option is fabulous and calls to me daily. The line is never too long, service is fast & friendly, price is reasonable. What more can I ask for from lunch downtown?

I recently got Tiffin for my staff for lunch. I ordered one of the beef, chicken and Vegan. The portions were enough for all 3 of my employees to share. We were all impressed with how good everything was. By far the favorite was the beef bowl. Would definitely order again from Tiffin. It was a quick and easy experience and for the price definitely a good deal.

Flavor is a three, maybe high three , but given small serving size this cannot qualify as lunch. I’d thought the downtown lunch thing worked like this: I give you somewhere between 5 and 12 dollars for takeout, and you send me off with full serving of food. In this case, I offered nine dollars for chicken bowl and spring rolls, and needed to have eaten exact same thing again for full meal. Literally in line for a burrito right now as I feel like I had an appetizer. Boo.

First and last time for me. I love W.G. and patronize them often. I have walked by Tiffin a few times thinking — I need to give that a try. I picked up their order card, choose Chicken(it was sunny and I couldn’t see into the window) and Brown Rice. I should have went with beef as it looked way better. My bowl was fine, but the chicken was mixed with huge chunks of green peppers — so I only got a few pieces of chicken. The flavor was good, but they charged an extra 50 cents for hot sauce; wow, really? Customer service was great as always. I’ll take my «quick lunch» choice up the street.

Owned by Wild Ginger, dis place has a window with a hole in it where you can put yr order in. There’s a sign dat says that if you try to speak through the window hole, the people won’t hear you inside. CONSPIRACYTHEORY: I think this place is run by aliens that look like humans. You never know… why else can’t you talk to them through the hole? Any efforts to mind control and dem aliens go KRAY-Z. The food’s good though. Served Panda Express style, in heated pans. I gots summa dat Malaysian chicken curry with a weird lemongrass stalk. Overall good portions! Started chewing on dat lemongrass and I chewed freakin forever like a drunk rabbit(I thought it was asparagus! I dunno my vegetables as well as rabbits). Sauce was decent and had some kimchi and pickled vegetables on the side. Tried mah friend’s Indonesian beef, da beef tasted hella stewed, and well flavored. The rice noodles were clumped together and weren’t really well-separated, but the consistency was alright. Nothing mindblowing either. I ain’t mad at it. In facts, I fux wit it. For $ 6 – 8, you could do a lot worse for an insta-lunch(less than 60 seconds) in downtown Seattle. Hella convenient too. For a quick, value-conscious meal, go here! Decent 3 outta 5

I think I would give this 2.5 stars but I’ll give them the extra half for the price and how friendly the staff was. Lunch downtown isn’t cheap but some coworkers mentioned this little take out window for Thai Ginger so I decided to try it out. I got the coconut chicken curry with rice noodles and brown rice. Firstly, why no white rice? The flavor was a little off for me. Pretty bland in comparison to the restaurant above. The color is also pretty off putting. The chicken whole dish is this light brown mush looking color once I got to my office and opened it. I hear that the change the dishes daily so check the window before you order. I will probably go back and try the beef dish if it’s there. Points for the small wait time, price, the ease of ordering, and the friendly staff in there. Bottom line, look in the window before you order and definitely order the hot sauce!

They’re very fast and the pricepoint is great, but the food disappoints. I’ve gone three times and each time it just hasn’t impressed me. They skimp on the quantity of meat(whether it’s chicken, beef or the vegetarian option) and the flavors are just«off». Actually, there really isn’t any flavor — just kind of bland.

Got the chicken bowl and it was kind of gross. List of complaints: 1. The chicken was really pink and slimy, but there were only about 3 small pieces of it, so whatever 2. The entire dish was about 50% mushrooms 3. The sauce was bland and also extremely slimy 4. There were two random pieces of tofu in it 5. The rice was hard and undercooked 6. It tasted like nothing. Like there’s more flavor when I accidentally get my hair in my mouth. In summary: it wasn’t good.

I would rate this as 3.5 stars if I could(strictly food-related, specifically the noodles… the gals working the counter were super friendly). I ordered the beef bowl with noodles, loved the beef! They tasted like they were slow-cooked in coconut curry. The carrots were cut a little on the large side, but I enjoyed the pickled veggies. The noodles are very thin vermicelli, think thinner than angel hair pasta. I personally would’ve preferred thicker noodles like what you would find in a standard bowl of phở or what I usually find in vermicelli bowls at Vietnamese restaurants. They kind of nickel & dime you for charging extra for egg rolls and hot sauce. The pricing is what some would likely consider over-priced, but having worked downtown for nearly 10 years, I would say the cost is average. I should note that the portions are bigger than I expected for lunch from an Asian-fusion counter attached to the Wild Ginger name, and we all know bigger is better so no complaints there! I would return again(for the beef) and this time probably order it with rice unless they change up their noodles. The fact that they were so skinny made the whole dish(minus the big carrots and the egg rolls I paid for) very soft. I am a textural person, so I would probably add some fried tofu or something to this to add variety in texture.

I’ve been to Tiffin several times now and love this new option for quick food downtown at lunchtime. For the reviewer who was surprised that it was more like curry than teriyaki, if you actually look into the window where the trays of food are, every one of them has a sign on it that describes what it is. The entrees change periodically, so it’s helpful to read them before ordering since today’s chicken entrée might be very different than last week’s. They also mention on the sign whether it’s spicy or not, although even the ones marked spicy I haven’t thought to be *too* spicy. Each meal comes with your choice of brown rice, rice noodles or salad. I haven’t tried the«salad» option, so not sure if it’s just a bowl of lettuce or more creative. It also comes with a small egg roll, which is not the best I’ve had, and I wouldn’t pay extra for it if it wasn’t included. As others have mentioned, you tick off on a card your choices, and you pass it through a small hole in the window. Then you go to pay, and the meal is usually ready around the time you’ve paid. They also have a frequent diner card and with 5 stamps you can get a free beverage or 10 stamps gets you a free bowl. I hadn’t ordered a beverage before, but last time I was there they were sampling the fresh coconut water. I’ve tried some packaged coconut waters and did not like it, so I reluctantly tried this one. I was very impressed with this fresh coconut water they were offering. It had a piece of coconut meat in it and it was very tasty. I would definitely order it in the future. I think the only downside is that the food hasn’t been as hot as I’d like when I get it, and by the time I walk the 2 blocks back to my office, it’s even less hot. So I’m pretty much eating lukewarm food by the time I get back. It’s still good, but I’d see if they could do something about the serving temperature. Could just be that the compostable bowl doesn’t hold the heat too well. Edited to add: I went back again this afternoon after writing this review. I did not receive a spring roll today, and noticed on the card that they are now selling them for a nominal fee. So it looks like the spring roll may not be included anymore. I also ordered the coconut water. While it was really good and had a ton of cut coconut in it, I noticed that some of the coconut had a lot of shell pieces still stuck to it, and as a result, the bottom of the cup had a lot of shell pieces/powder in it. I couldn’t drink the last two ounces due to all the shell debris — if I was home I would’ve strained it, but can’t do that at work. So that was disappointing and I wouldn’t order that again.

I love Tiffin! It is fast & deeeelicious! I am wary of most pork, so I never had it. I did have the beef– the day it debuted. Perfect. I took my entire office there. I go as often as possible. They had these amazing little coconut crêpes that they rolled up, before the egg rolls. The pickles are same in– house made ones that accompany satay in both WG and TD I am biased. I love all things WG. I could eat there every day. We use their private dining facilities. Jennifer F., did you actually expect to find Teriyaki at WG? Have you ever dined at Wild Ginger? Apparently not. If you are looking for disgusting, sickeningly sweet, sauce doused SCARYaki, limp your happy ass over to at 128 Pike Street– and bring cash. They don’t accept cards.

They reached out what is awesome in my opinion! They ditched the pork thank god! I’ll try for a third time but this is my final attempt.

I ordered the chicken bowl and it was… ok I guess. $ 8 for a small bowl of curried chicken with rice noodles seems high. If I walk a few more blocks down 3rd Ave I can get a better deal with the same taste. I only voice my criticism because I want Tiffin to succeed. It’s an awesome idea and the people behind the glass are very nice. Go there and try, maybe complain about the price, make up your own mind.

This location’s Wild Ginger opened up a separate take-out window(Tiffin), and it’s located next to The Triple Door. The menu selection is small, and the price is average. The service is quick, since the food is pretty much all pre-made and sitting in hot pans. I tried their chicken bowl, and it was not what I expected. I thought it would be teriyaki chicken(like most chicken bowls), but it was actually more like curry chicken. The vegetables had a fermented kimchi crisp to them, and they also seemed like they were curried. The food was not bad, just okay. but I honestly wouldn’t recommend it.

Great, quick lunch spot in The Triple Door’s old box office. Just tick a couple boxes on a provided ordering card, push it through the hole in the window, and they’ll get to work putting together your rice, noodle, or salad bowl with pork, chicken, or veggie($ 6 – 8 depending on your meat selection) and it’s ready in the time it takes you to pay. I had the chicken salad, and it’s great! Will definitely be back… with my frequent buyer card(5 stamps = free beverage, 10 stamps = free bowl).
