The Original Childrens Shop

For the first couple of years it was a nightmare taking my son to get a haircut. We went to a couple of kid specific salons like Sharky’s and he’d always freak out. We decided to try The Original Children’s shop probably around a year ago and to our amazement, he was calm throughout the whole process. On top of that, his haircut was fantastic! Rachel has been terrific and we’re very thankful that we found her.

Family own business and well deserve of the five stars. Once we walk in, Katherine (mother of the owner Kate) welcome us and show my daughter a pink pig that has wings that flap side to side.
This place has alot of selection for newborns, baby clothes and toys. I only heard of Petit Bateau but have alot of things my daughter loved.
They also have an all ages kid hair salon in the back who Christine gives haircuts for only $ 25. They have a racing car seat and a tv to distract any kid for their haircut. They also have a play area for other kids to wait their turn for a haircut. My daughter love the play area.
With the help of Katherine, we were able to find the perfects gifts for our friends who is expecting… the prices are little pricey but the customer service is outstanding. I also had to buy a baby stroller for my daughter since she wouldn’t let go of it… but I do not care because I love spoiling her.
I would love to come back for my daughter to get a haircut from Christine. I would also recommend this place in a heart beat!

Another business I have yet to review that is well deserving of some stars! I love this place… its totally out of my price range for most things but they have everything you need for that mother to be, just borns, and young ones in your life. The women who work there are sweet and helpful and they are quite freindly overall.
They have a place toward teh back of the shop where they give haircuts and i’ll tell you they do them fabulously on my squirming 4 year old niece. I’m quite fond them and if i had nothing but money to blow on my niece i’d be here more often but if you do have extra dough and need a christening dress, or a suit for you little boy for a wedding this is the place to go.

Great baby clothes and the best prices around on Petit Bateau, Miniman/​Catamini, Charlie Rocket, and Jean Bourget.
Sadly the choices after 24 month size don’t thrill me, but might work for the more conservative country club set.
Still stop in for size 16 Petit Bateau t-​shirts (for me) and PB PJs.

This is a lovely children’s clothier in the the heart of Madison Park. A little over the top for everyday playwear but unique finds that you might have trouble finding elsewhere locally. A little yuppy-​ish/​preppy-​ish but very nice. A perfect place to purchase a newborn gift. Check their sale rack.
