We came here a few days ago! Kind of early(5:30 pm) for my wife’s birthday. Awesome experience! I made a reservation online, they called me earlier in the day to ask about allergies and some other questions. We had a bottle of wine set up for us! Pre purchased of course. We had the 4 course experience and it was definitely a great experience. I don’t remember his name but the person who brought us to our table was talkative and very nice. Our server Kylie was awesome! And I believe the manager stopped by a few times and was great. Awesome experience!

This was a great restaurant. It was our first time here and it was such a good experience. Plan to spend a couple hours there. We got the 4 course meal which was the cheese fondue, then salad, then the meats etc and then dessert. You pretty much cook your own food, but such a neat experience.

Really indifferent about the Melting Pot. On one hand I LOVE fondue… more cheese please! But felt overall that the food was lacking for the price you pay to go. Happy Hour here is a good deal… I would recommend that most certainly if you aren’t wanting to shell out $ 100+ The Melting Pot is also recommended as a great date night spot with some privacy and a mellow vibe. I did not find this the case at all. Even after making reservations we were whisked away to an open booth near the bar area. It was so noisy I could barely hear the server or my boyfriend sitting directly across from me. We were quite disappointed as this is not how we would view«romantic»…it was just like being in a Red Robin or something of the like. For $ 50+ a person you can get the cheese fondue + SMALL salad + meat & liquid to cook in + dessert fondue. It’s overall plenty to eat and yes, you will certainly leave full… I just feel like between the ambiance of the restaurant and the flavors somewhat lacking it is not worth the money in most cases. Add in drinks or wine and your bill will sky rocket. Now they do offer specials from time to time which can be considered a «deal» but its not enough to get me back anytime soon that’s for sure.

I came to The Melting Pot awhile ago(this post is looong overdue), while on a short spring break vacation with my dad. We were from out of town and this was his first(and my second time) at a Melting Pot. I don’t remember the name of our waitress but she was nothing short of awesome. She sat us and asked if we were there for any special occasion, as they do a lot of the time. We informed her that we were from out of town and just doing some sightseeing and looking for cool places to visit. She mentioned a nearby park, I believe it was, and told us that it was one of her favorite places in town. We thought it was nice of her to offer suggestions but honestly I didn’t think too much into it. The service was great — she was very attentive to our table, never letting our glass get empty and always checking to see if there was anything that we needed. I really appreciated how she found just the right medium as well — not constantly hovering, but at the same time, not letting us feel like we’d been forgotten. The food was very good, though if you don’t like cooking your own food, then this might not be the place for you. My dad enjoyed the food, as did I, but he didn’t like having to check to make sure the food had been in the pot long enough, etc. The biggest thing that really impressed me, and you could say motivated me to write this review, though it’s been a couple years, is that as we were wrapping things up, our waitress came back with a printed sheet of walking directions to the park she had mentioned upon our arrival, complete with times, alternate routes and other neat things to do nearby. This is what really made The Melting Pot stand out. While being personable and friendly is always a plus when working in the service industry, this act was in no way part of her job description. To this day, when I am asked to name a time where I experienced great customer service I bring up this outing because the lady went above and beyond what was expected of her to make a couple of tourists feel accommodated. I don’t know if she still works there(really wish I’d gotten her name) but I hope she’s moved up the ladder because she is a great example of what fine customer service looks like!

Took my daughter and her friends for prom night, restaurant was empty, still was told we had to wait. Got talked into the 4 course meal at 50 a person. 35 minutes later, no water, no drinks, no contact whatsoever. We walked out for the first time ever

It was good food, but felt overpriced and very touristy. Cool for a double date, but if there’s allergies avoid this place– you only get one pot to cook in.

I really enjoyed the food and the fondue experience was also fun. The dessert was the best part. I was here for my birthday, my reservation was at 630pm and we didn’t leave until 9pm. I understand its a longer process but our server was not attentive to us at all. Literally checked on us once. We were all very disappointed in the service we received and when we asked our server if we could move a little quicker through everything he became very rude. All I’m saying is for the price we paid for dinner I expected to have above and beyond service. It was disappointing to say the least.

I do remember thinking that why am I paying to cook our own food. Maybe we will try again tonight, but I am reading some not so hot reviews just to the right here. But it will be quiet and I think we will be seated quickly. However, I do not believe we have gone in at Happy Hour yet? I need to research that right now and will return with a better review later on?

Absolutely loved the dessert, hands down! I did the four course experience which included cheese fondue, salad, entrée and dessert. I got the Steak Lovers entrée and my favorite steak of it all was the teriyaki marinated. The dessert was to die for, would honestly just go back there for the dessert. We had a party of 3 for a reservation at 4pm, which is when they open. Got seated, server was amazing, he enjoyed telling stories and relating to his customers. He explained everything he was doing with the fondue and how to make it. Overall it was a great experience. You have to pay to park, and the whole dinner takes about 2.5 hours. Loved this place!

My boyfriend took me here on a date night & I had so much fun. Everything they gave us was so good! I love the little pieces of steak. They were so tasty. And the dessert, omg! It was awesome! I left here so full & happy. Yes, you do basically«cook» the food yourself cause it’s fondue, but it’s still good. It’s pretty pricey so we won’t be able to go again for a while, but we will definitely be returning!

This was the most lovely date night of my life. Everything was absolutely perfect. We came in for their Easter Special(4 courses with an endless entrée including 5 pre-selected items for 37 $ a person.) Typically I’d be skeptical because of expensive this place is, but I can tell you the price is definitely worth the experience. The servers were all incredibly friendly and treated us like royalty. We were never rushed, and they never tried to push us into buying extra or dissuade us from our selection. The food is absolute heaven. To start we had the alpine cheese fondue which was absolutely fantastic. They mix the fondue right at your table which is really fun to watch. It comes with a selection of breads, vegetables and apples for you to dip in the fondue. My only complaint was that the bread and vegetables definitely weren’t the most fresh or high quality, but really the plan is to smother them with cheese so who cares. The cheese was AMAZING, my mouth is seriously watering just remembering how good it was. The salad entrée comes out just at the same time as the cheese fondue. We both had the caprese salad which came with a wonderful balsamic reduction. Portions are on the small side, but again I was here for fondue so this was just an added bonus — no complaints. It was a nice change of pace from the cheese and a good way to get yourself feeling a bit lighter after loading up with such a heavy flavor. For our entrée we had a set selection of shrimp, artichoke ravioli, filet, teriyaki beef and chicken and a side of broccoli, potatoes and mushrooms. You cook these in a vegetable spice broth at your table. This whole process took us nearly an hour, but was really enjoyable. With the entrée you’re given a set of sauces to add some extra flavor(chive/onion/sour cream, plum, Gorgonzola cream, teriyaki and curry sauces). My personal favorite was definitely the filet because it was so tender and went really well with the plum and Gorgonzola cream sauces. I thought the chicken was just very plain even with the sauces(it’s not seasoned or marinated) and honestly I would not order this myself. The ravioli was very good, I’d highly recommend this as well. My boyfriend LOVED the teriyaki beef. We had the Dark and Dulce chocolate fondue for dessert and once again this was fantastic. It wasn’t overly sweet and it came with a plate full of desserts for you to dip in it. I left the Melting Pot so happy and full. I would definitely recommend this for anyone. It’s a fun experience all around and the food is truly fantastic. Originally I was a bit skeptical of the price, but if you take advantage of their specials or happy hour the price is well worth it. 5⁄5 Stars

I had gone out with a group of ladies to catch up and get some drinks. The bar is very crowded! VERYVERYCROWDED! we have five people with us and any time that a person from surrounded tables and our had to get up the surrounding tables had to get up to leave. They have a special on Thursdays of happy hour all night for ladies. However, once we got the bill it wasn’t happy hour priced and my friend’s $ 100.00 gift card wasn’t applied so we had to remind the waitress of it. Another thing is the waitress didn’t mention the special which I think is a good way to promote and have people come in later! The service was ok. It was a busy night because of a concert nearby. We had to ask for drinks, like water, multiple times. There is no parking near by so valet is $ 8. The cheese was great and once the prices were corrected, they were good.

First time here(16 yr olds birthday celebration). I wasn’t aware we cooked the food ourselves. I have to say, trying to make sure my 5 yr olds chicken was cooked through enough in the very dim lighting was beyond stressful for me. Plus trying to time my own food AND enjoy the birthday celebration? Not gonna happen. Anywho, the cheese fondue was great, dessert was excellent, server was fun and engaging. But would only return for apps and dessert in the future.

So I NEVER write on Unilocal because being in the industry it has become the bane of my existence, however… My friend and I went to dinner there on Friday night before the opera and I have to say it was one of the BEST experiences I’ve had dining g out in Seattle. Our waiter was an absolute joy. I wish I would have gotten his name because he deserves mad praise. He knew his stuff was attentive and just a doggone cutie. The manager Patrick went above and beyond making us feel welcome and special. Unfortunately, our ignorance of how that place works we didn’t get our chocolate fondue, but he gave us a free desert gift certificate for next time. Oh and the food was deeelicious! Thanx for your service. I will definitely be back

This place is nothing to rave about. We went for desert. The chocolate was good but the server turn our burner up too high so the chocolate was getting to a point where you had to blow on it before putting it in your mouth. I asked for only fruit because I don’t eat all those other junkie things and she brought me 5 circles or bananas, 6 strawberry halves, and 4 chunks of pineapple… I’d expect a fruit platter when I ask for just fruit to dip in my chocolate! My boy friend got the regular desert platter with the rice crispies, blondes, pound cake, and marshmallows and a little bit of fruit… An odd combo for dipping into a fondue. Overall it was a fun first time experience but the desert was mediocre

My fiancée and daughter have been wanting to come here. I’ve hesitated because I wasn’t really into the cooking your own food at a restaurant. Then my birthday came and we went there. Wow! What an experience! It was actually a relaxing experience. Yummy food and dessert is perfect! Thank you!

I would come here anytime for dessert! This is such a cool experience and the service and food scores off the charts. I would indeed tell Obama about this place for dessert! I’ve never had dinner here though… My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

I had my first Melting Pot experience this eve. It was certainly pleasant. We had a reservation, and we were a few minutes early – but they prepped our table and we sat within 5 minutes of arrival. FOOD: We did the cheddar cheese fondue to start, followed by the Mojo style entrees, followed by the s’mores chocolate fondue. And I drank a Tennessee Tea. My favorite part was probably the straight up cheddar fondue… and bread. BREAD. For the entrée, I did the«choose three» option and had the ahi, peppered sirloin, and prawns(in the mojo cooking style). They were all pretty stinking good. The Tennessee Tea was a little sweet for my own preference, but good other than that. SERVICE: Service was top notch. Our server was Kirk, with a trainee Karissa(I think). They were both really pleasant – neither overbearing, nor absent. Even having a trainee wasn’t annoying(as it can be), or imposing. … it is kind of pricey, though. Especially for a chain.

Faith in Melting Pot Restored Seattle Does It Better Long story short — we’d had a bad experience at the Tacoma store and received a voucher for 2 for a full dinner. We decided to try the Seattle store. The instructions on the voucher say to show your server first thing. I’m thinking it must be so they can put the restaurant on red alert… Once the secret was out we were the, «voucher table” — as I overheard someone say; it was as if we were some high class food critic and all eyes were on us. Everyone was in a tizzy. It was entertaining to watch, actually. The assistant manager, Patrick, introduced himself, gave us his card and tried rather unsuccessfully to segue into asking how we’d got the voucher. We got the feeling they don’t hand them out very liberally. We explained. He apologized for the service we’d received and hoped that they’d be able to provide better service. Adam was our server and despite the obvious pressure we added, he did very well. He was extremely courteous. He joked. He was on time. We made sure to reward him handsomely. After all, the meal was free; but the service deserved compensation this time, rather than a negative review. Well done, Seattle Melting Pot. My only recommendation: next time you have someone with a voucher– don’t make it so obvious you’ve just gone to defcon 3!
