Gypsy Café is currently closed for good, however another café opened in its place. Look for Tiny Ninja Café instead.

CLOSED. Newspaper on all the windows, and an ambiguous note that says they are reopening some time(unclear) as something(unclear) and they hope we’ll come back. Hmm.

Coffee was watery, there was a large heater blasting hot air on me, the interior was dingy, and the internet did not work. I asked the barista to reset the modem and it still didn’t work. I couldn’t connect to it. I ended up walking in the rain to the library so I could do some important things on my computer. Awful experience. Never going back.

This place sucks, don’t believe the hype. Ordered a breakfast burrito, wanted it with sausage. Wasn’t asked, and got a taste-free but attitude-rich slab of cheesy tofu goo for $ 5. Ordered a quad americano, got a large cup of brown water. Proprietor either doesn’t like men, or doesn’t like customers in general, tho she sure chatted up the lady in front of me. Building is for sale, so time to let this place fade away.

How do I love thee Gypsy Café? Let me list the ways. — Such friendly staff — Delightfully mismatched sofas, chairs, and tables from various decades — A stuffed monkey hanging from the ceiling — Free wifi — Numi teas — Music that also spans various decades But most of all, I love the plastic logs blazing(electrically) in the fireplace.

Pretty cool little shop, but I had a horrible cup of latte! It was really expensive too, over $ 3.50 for a small 8 ounce! I had to throw it away. Bitter, over-extracted with little flavor notes. Sad because I think they use Café Vita’s blend, which can be amazing if pulled right. The milk wasn’t foamed right, so it wasn’t sweet and the steamed milk didn’t merry with the espresso…

This place was a unique dining experience. The restaurant is located in an old warehouse that hasn’t been cleaned since Reagan was in office. It’s a very Seattle place, as it is super hipster and coffeehouse-esque. If you’re in Fremont already, you love this. You order at the register and wait for your food to get dropped off. It took a while to get our food, which was weird because the restaurant was quiet. Food was average, nothing special. Lots of great vegetarian options. Come here if you have tattoos, love bicycling and drink PBR.

Cool, quirky coffee & sandwich café with great rotating art and live music. I always try the chai at different coffee shops and this one was not to my liking… a little too much on the anise/licorice side. Sadly, I don’t remember the brand but it’s not one of the ones usually found in the Seattle area. Loved the open garage door wall — great for rainy spring/summer days when it’s warm out. Loved the sandwiches. I will be returning when in the neighborhood.

Breakfast sandwhiches served ALL day! This is my spot! And the owner Debbie is so sweet. I love it here.

This place seems to be a little venue on weekends and nights but I went for a visit in the day and it was dead. A little handful of customers here and there but I was practically by myself. Which is completely okay when you need a little study time.

I wish I could give this little place 5 stars because the owner is a Doll and the food is good however I can’t because the full time blonde disengaged negative barista is always there to greet me er rather me greet her since I can barely get a hello out of the gal She needs a new day job because her enthusiasm SUCKS!

Great customer service, yummy java, high ceilings, comfy couches! I only got coffee but it looked like there were some yummy sandwiches being gobbled up… I was looking for some java before my visit to Bastyr(right down the street). The ladies that work there are super friendly and accommodating! I will be back when I’m in that area again! Xo

Very nice lunch place with very delicious sandwiches at reasonable prices. If you want a light bite I recommend either the Tuna or the BLT with guac. Very fresh bread and good ingredients. This is not a subway footlong tub of calories kind of place… but a nice place to get a decent bite. I really like going when I work at home since its just down the hill. A very nice setting on a sunny day with the open sides. Free Wifi, no rush, and they do have coffee and cookies if you need to get past that 1PM lul. Very friendly staff who are always smiling and really enjoy working there. Happy they are in Wallyhood!

Came here for a quick drink on Saturday before heading out to my final destination of the evening. I had never heard of the place, but was looking for a pub near the Fremont Brewery and google maps directed me here. When I arrived, musicians were warming up, which was a pleasant surprise. Gypsy is an interesting café/pub, décor-wise and patron-wise. It was around 8pm and there were a total of 14 people(not including the bartender, or 4 musicians). But we stayed for a drink(good selection of beers and wine for cheap) and listened to some country tunes. Didn’t try any food, so cannot comment. Fun place if in the area, though not sure would come here specifically if wasn’t in the neighborhood.

Nice selection of breakfast items, fast and friendly service, good prices, and super cozy interior. If I lived here, I know I’d be a frequent customer.

I went here a couple of weeks ago with my Aunt Autumn. We came for coffee and lunch. I was so excited when I ordered my café au lait. Most people always either ask me what that is, or they make it wrong. They burn the milk. When milk is burnt it takes away the natural sweet taste of the milk. Anyway, the owner Gypsy was wokring, and made my coffee sublime. As well as my cheese quesadilla. She is very friendly, informative, and bubbly. All the things you need in a barista/chef. I want to go back there for dinner, on a Friday night so I can hear the live music, and get a glass of white wine. Whenever I’m in the neighborhood I will be coming back!!!

I’ve been here a few times with friends and usually at night. The food is good, but I’ve always come for the inexpensive drinks and the great parties(heck, they even sell 40s!). I love coming here for the ever-changing music lineup, comfortable seating, outdoor patio(for those warmer nights), and pretty good selection of card/board games to play while not out on the dance floor. I’m not sure why some other Unilocalers have given this place one star, but I have thoroughly enjoyed myself every time I’ve gone here. Check it out for yourself.

Im not sure where the positive ratings for this place came from but my experience at this place was awful. I went in with my friend, we are both well-traveled & love a good independent coffee shop. This café had bad burnt coffee, over-priced stale breads, & store-bought packaged bagels for 3 bucks a pop! The quality of the food is poor while the price is high. The service was slow and not exactly friendly but if a place has good environment and good food that never matters to me. Gypsy has neither. This place had nothing that makes me want to return which is a shame because I live mins from there. I would not recommend even trying this coffee shop.

I am going to balance Janelle’s 4.5 with my 5. so they get their 4.5 . I like the owners. I miss when they had a resale shop of lovely womens clothes. I got to know the owners simply from being a customer. They worked their store. I had one of the very best tuna/cheese grilled sandwiches ever possible there when I first moved here. It is quiet, a bit off the beaten path on Stone Way. down from ROBBQ, another favorite,. Staff is friendly and informal. Nice variety of drinks in the cooler if you happen to be walking by or panting, walking your bicycle up the hill. huff huff! Next month no panting if I find a gym or the rain stops!

Had a soy chai tea here and an english muffin sandwich and both were pretty good. Really liked the atmosphere inside(pictures posted). Beatles oldies in the background and they had a free newspaper to read. Staff is really friendly. Glad we came here before hitting the touristy spots. A nice calm before the storm of Pikes Place crazies. If I lived here, I’d definitely be back!
