This place is awesome! Wife and I had the sausage and eggs and the kids had pancakes. So nice to find a place that has flavor to their food. The kids pancakes were huge. Their eye lit up when she brought them. This place is a must! Also, people need to get over the sign by the register. Stop trying to make it something that its not.

I used to come here in the 1990’s and recently thought I’d try out my old breakfast fave«The Hobo». It’s a scramble with sausage, peppers, cheese, onions, potatoes, etc. The portions are still healthy sized. The dish used to be quite good, but this time the eggs were completely burned on the bottom, as were the potatoes. For a breakfast place to botch eggs so badly is a crime. It was not The Hobo I remember from the old days. The price was about $ 11.50 before tip, that’s a lot of money to toss at something that is sub par. I know that the ownership has not changed, because the same people are there. Unfortunately the vibe is not as friendly as it was. I was a regular on Sunday mornings and the place had a real welcoming feel, lots of jokes, chatting, etc. Today I didn’t feel appreciated as a customer. I could have come in there or not for all they cared.

Went here on recommendation of neighbors. They did say the staff was rough around the edges up front, and got a taste of that even before walking through the door when some customers who entered a few minutes before us left in a huff being offended by how they were treated upon entering. I was treated fine walking in, if maybe a little abruptly, just not overt rudeness. Throughout the service the waitress alternated between snippy and polite pretty much on a dime, but again, based on what I was told going in, this was not unexpected and wasn’t anything that disrupted the overall service. I ordered the chicken fried steak with onions added to my eggs. What wasn’t made clear on the menu was that I was going to be charged $ 1.25 for the onions, which for the amount given vs the price of onions on the market I felt was a bit steep. But overall my meal was good and was a good value for what it was priced at. I would have rated higher, however, the dining area was very dusty and dingy around all of the pictures and knick knacks that served as decoration. While I can appreciate the value such knick knacks can bring to restaurant ambiance, they come at a heavy price because of the difficultly in maintaining consistent cleanliness standards. As far as the service, seemed to me that the wait staff was giving as good as they got, so as long as you are polite to them, they will be polite back.

For eggs and standard breakfast fare its way too expensive. I paid almost 30 dollars for me and my girlfriend to eat eggs toast and such. It was tasty but the place looks like it could be the inside of a trailer park trailer and the people who run the place fit the bill as well. Some scary conservative propaganda on the wall and overall an off vibe in there like crazy people own it. Whatever maybe you’ll like it. I live across the street and will not go back. Just had to check it out since it has like seven open signs. Just looked to weird to pass up.

When we want a breakfast with Seattle vibe closer to home, this is a great place. The first time in, was charmed by the B&W «The Breakfast Club» movie poster. Lots of kitschy Disney décor, but it’s fun and retro and interesting. The food is fantastic! Love coming here! Worth the wait if you arrive to a line. You can park out back and walk in thru the back door.

Visiting mini to have car serviced, thought I would take a walk and stumbled across this restaurant & should have kept walking. Staff was not the friendliest but she must have been having a bad day because other customers were complaining about the quality of the food which in my opinion was less than mediocre. Had eggs benedict which was barely Luke-warm. Prices are fair. Not many other options in area.

I’m bummed out to read so many reviews that mention the«no mother should have to fear for her sons life when he robs a store» sign, and to see that this restaurant feels fine about keeping it up. The waitress, already curt, refused to explain further when she said it was a joke and I asked why it’s funny. The slogan comes from a photoshop of a Ferguson protestors sign; there’s nothing not racist about it. What would the joke even be??? Greasy, bland food. Creepy vibes. Racist staff. Pass on this one and get pastries from the German coffee shop up the corner instead.

The walls look like an out-of-control rummage sale. I doubt all those little knickknacks get taken down and cleaned very often, so it was hard not to think about the grimy build up… But my omelette was really good(lots of bacon in there)! Potatoes were a bit salty, but good. I’ve never had a steamed scone before — waitress: this is what happens when it is heated it in the microwave– and i can’t say I liked it. Coffee was pretty good, and refilled regularly. Cups maybe need replacing due to stains? I feel like it was too expensive, given the run-down atmosphere. For the same price we could eat at Patty’s Egg Nest or Maltby Café.

Go and check it out for yourself!!! The biscuits and gravy! The breakfast potatoes!!! Oh they were salty delight!!! Salty but soon good! The atmosphere is ridiculous. I didn’t see racist propaganda but the décor it is a mixture of charming and creepy. It reminds me of staying the night at aunts house or one of my friends… The opposite of my mom’s house, waking up and eating a breakfast that I want to trust lol then going out and playing. I’m kidding, I trusted it, it was clean there! Typical greasy spoon for sure and olé girl that waited on us was cold at first but she warmed up to us pretty quick. I asked for water and she made a joke about it being annoying or something and I could tell she was kinda jokingly serious :) but she was nice. People in Seattle are kinda cold and rude anyways and I’m from Chicago so I know how to deal with that kinda stuff. I think that people are too sensitive when they go out to eat, the server staff doesn’t have to kiss your ass and make you fall in love with them. You’re human just like they’re human. People need to stop being so entitled. Also if you see racist stuff on the wall and are offended, don’t eat there, this is America and the business owner has the right to decorate as they see fit! Do us all a favor and get over it and go to a safer dining establishment like Dennys or IHOP… And that just means that I’ll never have to wait for my table at The Breakfast Club!!! This place is a classic and depending on the alleged racist stuff on the walls and the big city cold service from a staff that could be the next door neighbors on Roseanne, I would recommend it as a staple Seattle breakfast diner and I would recommend just going in and checking it out for yourself!

«NOMOTHERSHOULDHAVETOFEARFORHERSON’S LIFEEVERYTIMEHEROBS A STORE» on the wall — is there any interpretation possible where this ISN’T thinly veiled racism? Repulsive. I come here every once in a while because it’s literally the only place to get breakfast food around here. If you need friendly service with your diner experience, you will not find it. I’ve been here about eight times and I don’t think I’ve ever actually been greeted. There was a «you want coffee?» in place of a hello this time. Which, yes, I did. I also wanted water but you have to ask for it specifically. This is less wasteful, which is great, but it’d nice if they asked. I usually feel like I’m an inconvenience when I’m here. The décor is like a cross between senile hoarder grandma & an antique shop. It’s simultaneously charming and disturbing. I’d love it, frankly, if not for the need to broadcast their conservative beliefs. Most of which, to be fair, they’ve replaced with pictures of their smiling children & family. Nobody wants political beliefs stuffed into their omelettes. The food is pretty good, standard diner fare. I heard them microwave something before my food came out which gave me pause, which gave me pause. Could’ve been them heating up their lunch or something, who knows. Pancakes are pretty good, and tons of cheese in the scrambles I’ve gotten(which I like). Really though, I’m having a hard time coming to terms with giving my money to someone who feels a need to so strongly victim-blame people of color that they print out a piece of paper with that quote and tape it to a cabinet. It’s so infuriatingly tacky it hurts. And not the arguably-cute kind of tacky that the otherwise grandma-esque tchotchkes provide.

This place was not the best for breakfast. The food was not the best, and the place did not feel overly clean. The staff were friendly, but it didn’t live up to the other reviews I read.

OHMYGAWD !!! I’m eating as I type… just have to slow down and enjoy the moment. I love innovation. The«Bacon-wrapped Sausage Roll» is a special today, don’t know if it’s on the menu every day. It is an amazing combination of all the breakfast meats we love, baked as an almost 1″ high by 3−4″ diameter patty. The«hashbrowns» are actually cubed russet cottage potatoes, skin-on and twice cooked(absolutely delicious!). With 3 eggs OE and rye toast, this is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Ya gotta see the pic! All I can say is Thank You! — Scott Berglin

Joe’s special Home– made style breakfast Review: 6⁄10 Price:us$ 10.95 My favorite spinach, ground beef With scramble egg. The potatoes are not crispy but it is soft… It included bread with English muffin style toast The normal combination I feel full because I only ate half of it. There are family photos on the wall in this restaurant. I feel home is here. I like the atmosphere.

There are a few less than positive aspects of this joint. The décor is seriously confusing. The table ware is a bit ridiculous. Service was spotty. By the food is on point. The portion sizes were more than healthily sized. Wish that they would stay open a bit longer. There are no breakfast focused joints in lake city nearby. That being said the breakfast club is the best breakfast joint in the area by far.

Food OK. Price OK. Service gruff. Wish I had read the reviews. Hard for me to understand why a restaurant wants to make strong political statements, but when the statements are borderline racist, it actually makes the food taste bad. Sorry I went in.

Had breakfast there today. The worst eggs Benedict I have ever had. I don’t know what that hollandaise sauce was, but it tasted awful, flat and sour. Took two bites and pushed it aside. Ham steak side… okay, but 5 bucks for it seems kinda high. The V8 was awesome.

I have eaten here many times in the past, and while the service has always been a bit lacking, the food had always been great and the prices very reasonable. Unfortunately, I wad just denied service by an older lady who I believe is one of the proprietors, because I had my service dog(seizure alert) with me, even though I had several service dog badges on her. I explained that people who require the help of service dogs are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act, but she still ordered me to leave, and was pretty terse with me that I had questioned her order. I will be reporting this business to the authorities, and will never recommend them again. According to the A.D.A.( ): «Under the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA), businesses and organizations that serve the public must allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals into all areas of the facility where customers are normally allowed to go. This federal law applies to all businesses open to the public, including restaurants, hotels, taxis and shuttles, grocery and department stores, hospitals and medical offices, theaters, health clubs, parks, and zoos.» and also: «Businesses that sell or prepare food must allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises.» I strongly urge everyone to boycott this restaurant that actively discriminates against disabled people.

Came here to meet a co-worker for an impromptu business meeting. We lingered for nearly two hours and our server was pleasant from beginning to end. Our breakfasts were perfectly made to order and the coffee was unending. I’m fairly sure that I twitched the entire way home. We left a larger-than-usual tip because we were there for so long. There was never anyone waiting for tables but she checked on us frequently so we appreciated the customer service.

Tucked away in the busy streets of Lake City way, lies this cute hole-in-the-wall place. The place itself isn’t very big due to the limited seating area. Plus, it gets packed quickly in the morning. So I highly recommend coming in early to beat the morning rush or just be prepared for some waiting. Interior wise, very vintage! Along the walls are full of eclectic decorations that ranges from figurines, weird shapes, art, posters etc etc from the different decades. The place feels a little dingy but at the same time, pretty cozy if you’re with friends or on a date. As for food, I’ve been here a few times and everytime, I can never fully finished a meal. The breakfast portions are fairly big and you definitely do get what you pay for. Some of the items I have tried that are memorable are the: corned beef hash, biscuit and gravy and one of the specials. The homemade corn beef hash was pretty tasty. Not too salty but slightly on the more oily side. The potatoes/hashbrown are homemade as well and has a nice little crunch to them. The biscuit itself was alright(a bit dry and hard) but the gravy definitely makes up for it. The gravy is definitely a must try since it’s full of rich flavors and very savory. As for one of the specials(I don’t quite remember the name), the dish was very tasty. Full of mushrooms, soft melted cheese, fluffy eggs and bacon, coupled with a side of hashbrowns… This was yum. Highly recommend trying one of the specials if you can’t decide on what to get. Will be coming back for more sampling of the other breakfast dishes. =]
