If you love oysters and looking for some decent happy hour, I highly recommend this place. Not only are the shellfish fresh, there are many different types that you can try! Each type of oyster has its own texture and flavor, so if you have questions, I highly recommend talking to someone who’s knowledgeable about the oysters. My friends and I tried all the types of oysters and found each of them to be quite tasty and fresh. Paired it with a bottle of wine and you’re set for a yummy meal. We also ventured outside of the oyster menu and sample other seafood dishes and these were pretty unique and interesting such as the geoduck. Service is quick and attentive and the wait time isn’t too bad. Come here early though if you want to miss the the crowds or if you don’t mind missing HH, you can always come here in the late evening for dinner or a small meal since there tends to be more tables open that won’t require a reservation or anything.

Walked in for HH. Online it says you can get $ off per dozen. I guess that has changed… it was a lower price per shigoku oysters. Since I’m not familiar with specific oysters, although i have had a tasting of oysters at walrus and the carpenter but couldnt recall what I liked. I just bought the daily dozen to eat with my cousin who is also an oyster newbie. The oysters were fresh and shucked right there on the spot. I did find my favorite of all the variety that was being offered was the kumamoto oysters. Considering the price and the fact that you can get $ 1 oysters elsewhere at other HHs, I probably won’t be back for a while. But the service was great and the oysters were great.

When we come to a place like this, you have to expect to spend a little. Hey, I was on vacation so I just ordered a variety of things that I had never tried. I don’t remember the type of oysters that I got it was three different types. Try to take it slow and savor the taste. I thought it was worth it to get the spicy sauce. It enhanced the experience. The oyster soup was milky like chowder and tasted even better when I dipped the bread into it. The chips and oyster dip was okay. I don’t know what kind of chips they were but they were a little salty for us so we should have gotten something else. The non-alcoholic beer was sweet and was a locally made beer. I’d like to try that again. Customer service was good. They had football on the TV as well so it made the experience even better.

I don’t eat oysters but the hubby does. He picked 6 different ones and liked all of them. They were really fresh. I ordered the prawns and they were gigantic lol. They were nice and chilled. We also got the seaweed salad. It had lots of flavor and the only con is that they get stuck in your teeth.(Bring floss) Overall we enjoyed our experience there.

great takeaway option for shellfish when you cannot get down to Pike Place Market. Everything is fresh and very reasonably priced.

My visit to Taylor’s was to try Geoduck for my first time. I’d never had or seen it before except for in pictures and on TV, so it was a mission accomplished. These creatures are interestingly shaped, but here it’s served sashimi style and sliced very thin. They were really tasty! What I liked most were actually the oysters. There were so many varieties that you can pick out and see yourself in the open tanks which made it fun, and they were all super yummy.

Yay! I like this no-frills place. I’ve mostly come here during happy hour, but I love the selection of both the oysters and the wine. The people who work here are very informative. There’s not much to say about this place. The oysters are super fresh– they’re in moving water until you pick them out. I’ve never eaten them with anything besides the provided mignonette and lemon. I’ve never had a shell or debris in my oysters when I got them shucked here, either. If you’re looking to take the oysters home, again, the same informative service. The lady who helped me out gave me full flavour profiles of each variety and made suggestions according to my taste. Considering I took them home and shucked them myself, it was a little pricey, but otherwise I have nothing bad to say about this shop. Except parking. Trying to park on the Hill remains and continues to be a struggle that’s increasingly not worth anything you do in this neighbourhood after, say, 3PM. Take a taxi!

One of the places I really wanted to come to during my visit to Seattle was this spot and boy did it not disappoint! I tried almost all of their oysters and ordered the geoduck sashimi. I really liked how the store had fresh oysters still placed in water. The geoduck sashimi was heavenly, a must get if you love Japanese cuisine. The oysters were sweet and shucked cleanly. What was weird is that you had to pay extra for cocktail sauce and horseradish. I guess for oysters this delicious, you don’t really need any additional sauce, but I would’ve like a bit of cocktail sauce on mine. A great experience, although pricey. I will be back here the next time I make a trip to Seattle. My favorite oyster was Kushi. definitely a must try, sweet and delicious.

party of 2, sunday afternoon around 3pm. stopped in for a quick snack. small place, limited seating. parking is limited in that area. great location. ~ dozen oysters — they post up what the day’s oysters are so you get 3 each of 4 different kinds. they were fresh, delicious and not briny. standard fare, nothing that blew my mind away. ~ geoduck sashimi — this is a texture thing, whether you’ll like it or not. if you’re squeamish, ask fewer questions and you’ll enjoy it more. but there are two parts, both served to you — one is more like calamari, and the other is softer. hard to describe, but worth trying once. very little flavor — similar to squid or octopus, and it’s served with soy and wasabi. otherwise, chill place, but i don’t know if i would go back necessarily on my next visit. seattle is tough competition b/c there are so many great places serving oysters and fresh seafood.

Well if you like oysters then why not go to the place that supplies many of the local restaurants and cut out the middle man altogether. They are also the largest producer of farmed shellfish in the US. Upon entering Taylor’s you will notice the fresh oyster beds that occupy half of the restaurant. The menu select is limited, so don’t expect Chandler’s variety, but you come here for the best darn oysters’ period and that is what you get. Shucked fresh per order with your selection of vinegar or cocktail sauce and fresh shaved horseradish and they have a nice selection of wine and bubbly, because you can’t enjoy oysters without bubbly. The interior is small and cozy and most of the restaurant is occupy by equipment for keeping the oysters fresh, so you know they mean business when you walk in. I would assume they would have quite the wait on the weekends, so you probably want to get here early. So if fresh oysters and shellfish is your thing then there is no other place to go to than Taylors!

Accompanied by my brother and sister, the original plan was to swing by Taylor Farms for a pre-dinner snack. We ended up ordering a lot more than anticipated and needless to say we did somewhat ruin our appetites for dinner. *Geoduck Sashimi($ 12) — Excellent! So light and refreshing. Mild in flavor with a light crunch, this is a must for sushi lovers since it’s not an item that’s normally carried at sushi restaurants. *Smoked Oyster Dip($ 8.50) — I love oysters pretty much any way it’s prepared and it was no different with this dish. Served with a side of potato chips, this creamy dip has a light smoky flavor and mild kick from cayenne pepper and paired very well with the crunchy, salty chips. *Cocktail Prawns($ 9) — Good but I would have preferred the shrimp to be deshelled. I’d skip this as it’s nothing special and a lot of work. Plus there are so many other yummy items on the menu to choose from. *Calamari Salad($ 7.50) — Squid, mushrooms, ginger and bamboo shoots with a soy & vinegar dressing. Very tasty! Lightly sweet with a range of different textures. You must like ginger though because the ginger flavor is very strong. *Shucked Oysters — We started with Shigoku($ 2.50/each) and Kumamoto($ 2.75/each) and decided the Kumamoto was our preferred and therefore ordered a couple more. The Shigoku was a bit too briny with a bitter aftertaste. The Kumamoto on the other hand, although tiny, was perfect — creamy, clean taste… no hint of fishiness. They provide a champagne mignonette to pair with the oysters and we paid $ 1 extra for fresh grated horseradish. ***Oyster Happy Hour is offered Mon-Fri from 2pm-4pm and therefore we paid $ 0.33 less per oyster.*** We ran out of meal times in our short visit to Seattle otherwise we definitely would have gone back again.

Casual dining and very fresh seafood! //LOCATION //A steps away from the Starbucks Reserve. //SERVICE //Pretty awful. I think our waiter was high. He disappeared for long stretches of time and couldn’t remember the simplest things(ie: bringing us menus or the bill, even after 3 – 4 requests) //FOOD // + Geoduck: Interesting texture! + Raw oysters: Freshly shucked, salty, and delicious.

Stopped into this phenomenal little space next to Melrose Market. So glad I did! I sampled one of each of their locally caught and shucked oysters, accompanied by a nice glass of Spanish brut. My favorite oysters were the PealePassage and Shigoku. Virginica and the Fanny Bay were very satiating!

The oysters here are super fresh! The menu is simple. You choose between three different raw oysters and a wine menu. There is a special menu if you’re looking for something other than raw oysters but I decided to stick to oysters and wine. The staff was friendly and recommended I first order one of each oyster to find out what I really liked. Our waiter also recommended a wine that would go great with our oysters and seemed knowledgable. All the oysters were freaked and they prepare them right in front of you with their open kitchen. Their shrimp cocktail is amazing! The shrimp were huge! You do have to take off the shell yourself but that’s okay bc it’s so worth it. As far as the bathroom– this place isn’t spacious but it is nice so if you need to use the bathroom you do need to walk out of the restaurant, turn to your left and the next building over is where you’ll find the bathroom. As a first timer here, I asked if this has always been this way and the manager informed me that it has. The restaurant has room for their oysters to be on display, their open kitchen and seating– that’s it. I suppose it would be more convenient to have a bathroom in the restaurant but it’s only next door and 10 steps outside isn’t an issue to me bc the oysters are fresh and the service is great!

Very fresh oysters. We also had the oyster dip with chips which was really amazing! It was creamy, a bit tart, and very light! Definitely try to go during happy hour too. The waitress got our oyster order wrong but she gave us the correct ones afterwards free of charge! Service was a bit slow though and she got 2 of our 3 oyster orders wrong :/ Overall pleasant experience and the décor is really nice. Come for the oysters!

I have not seen Geoduck butchered. And the«chef» did it in front of me, a bit explanation/demo also. Calling him«chef» is probably an over-statement. Most of the preparation is about shucking oysters and slicing Geoduck sashimi style. At least during this Saturday lunch hours that I was there. I would not say the services were stellar. If this is your first time, you may actually feel a bit annoyed. You are supposed to pick up a menu, find a table, and flag the waiter for your order. Alternatively, you could also treat this as a fish market and flag the same person for raw shell fish to go. Freshness is the main selling point, not the sophistication of the cooking methods. If you are into fresh shellfish, simply cooked, then this is near heaven for you. It is not for those who expect restaurant grade services. This is a very unique 4-star for me. I am a fan by now. But I would not recommend this for everyone, only for those who care for the foods more than the ambient and services.

This place was definitely a sticker shock but it was OK, I prepared myself for it when I shelled out $ 40 and was still hungry when I left. I came in on a Tuesday at 12:00 and I was the only one there during the whole lunch hour. The place was clean and the server was very friendly. I ordered the following: Geoduck Clam Sashimi — It was very good, I loved the«crispness» of the meat. However $ 12 for about 12 quarter size thin slices of mean is pretty expensive. Cup of Clam Chowder — I didn’t like it, it mainly has sliced carrots. Every bite I took had two-three slices of carrots. Not enough clams and potatoes Then I got two Shigoku and Kummamoto Oysters. Those were good, very sweet and fresh. I probably won’t go here again, I’m sure I can find another place that serves Geoduck Clam Sashimi.
