Still love this place. They expanded to add a bar, it’s a little dark so not a place for a sunny day(eat in the restaurant if the weather is nice, lots of windows). The prices have gone up a bit over the years, yet still a good value, delicious food.

Very good Mexican food. Huge burritos. Juicy flavorful meats and tasty sauces. Habanero sauce is truly hot.

Service was horrible, the servers and the staff had attitudes the whole time we tried to order…

This is a total hole in the wall restaurant that I’d never think to go to, but my friend and I were hanging out in greenwood and she was jonesing for Mexican food. This restaurant had a better review than the other Mexican place in greenwood, so we came here. The prices are low, portions are big, and the food comes out fast! If I’m ever in the greenwood area again craving Mexican, I’d definitely return.

Easily the best rice and beans in the city, carnitas correctly crisp and moist, salsa bar with radishes and pickled carrots, not to mention the amazing torta or carnitas enchilada. That enchilada was game changing.

My go to spot for Mexican in the neighborhood. Wish they wouldn’t charge for the chips, but the salsa bar makes up for it. Horchata is a big hit with my wife and kids too!

Disgusting food. Terrible service. I just don’t understand how the meat quality can be so bad. This food may be fine if you are used to fast food and want to pay extra to eat it at a restaurant… Seattle actually has some pretty quality Mexican food so don’t bother with this place.

We recently moved to the area and are happy to call this our new go-to neighborhood Mexican spot. Recommended by a friend from SoCal, we gave it a try a few weeks back and went for a second time a couple days ago. Fish and pork tacos are standout, carne asada was flavorful, slightly charred but tender. Beef and chicken fajitas are good as well. Refried beans and rice are the best I’ve had here in Seattle. Great, friendly service, low key fun atmosphere.

This place was a hidden gem in the greenwood area. I had the burrito supreme and my friend had the nachos. Both were delicious and arrived quickly. Warning — the burritos are huge. Next time I’m going to get something a little smaller!

This is our go-to spot for authentic Mexican food in Seattle. They make the food quick, and we enjoy it every time!

We’ve been in twice and tried a variety of their selection, never disappointed. Food comes in great portions, and everything is tasty and fresh. The salsa bar is great, and allows for experimentation with your tongue’s tolerance for pain. The separate the habanero salsa for a reason… Pretty much anything on the menu is worth getting, as it’s all very good. A warning about the horchata — it’s super sweet! Too sweet to finish, for us anyway. Also, be wary of the chips and salsa and guac as appetizers, they all add cost to the meal. It’s a little expensive, but worth it for the authenticity and environment.

I love Taqueria. It’s not fancy, it’s not healthy but if you want reasonable, saucy and cheesy Mexican, it can’t be beat. For those who were in Seattle 30 years ago, it’s reminiscent of Greenwood El Tapatio– minus the red carpet and Christmas balls hanging from the ceiling. The chips are great, salsa is chunky and delish, the chicken is all white meat, carnitas are my husband’s favorite in town, burritos are gigantic… What’s not to love? It isn’t Cactus or ElCamino but if you need a ground beef enchilada(with not too greasy rice and beans) at 10AM to soak up some of the fun you had the night before, Taqueria is your place. TIP– head to the bar in the back, to the right of the register towards the bathrooms. Free chips and salsa and the vibe is a lot more relaxed. Oh and PS, Luisa’a is awesome for the tortilla when you walk in the door but that’s about where it stops. Taqueria has Luisa’s beat, hands down.

It’s a good sign when you go to an ethnic restaurant and 90% of those customers are of that same ethnicity, just saying lol. I ordered the wet burrito(forgot the actual name) and couldn’t finish. Very large portion size and it tasted very good– and despite what some reviews say, it wasn’t all filler either. My bf had the chipotle sauce one and it was too spicy for me but he liked it. Also, after awhile their burrito sauce got to be too much for me, a little creamier than what I’m used to on my wet burritos in Cali.

Went here by fate because my usual Mexican restaurant down the street was closed. Was pleasantly surprised. Got the standard lunch burrito which came with beans and rice for $ 5.95. I added chips and salsa and a fountain drink and my total was around 10 bucks. Burrito was tasty and had a unique red sauce on it. Salsa was above average and they even have a salsa bar. The place is good and for the price it is great!

This place is exactly what I’m looking for in a Taqueria. The tacos and burritos are very tasty and all their food is reasonably priced. The food is authentic, the atmosphere is casual and they make great margaritas! By the way, if you’re really hungry, their Tequila Burrito is absolutely huge.

This place is disgusting!!! A four year old child could make a netter burrito. Is it possible to make a flavorless burrito? Yes it is if you use processed food from a can. Oh yeah and the service is horrible too.

So a bit of background — being born and raised in the midwest my first 20 years of life was spent thinking that a taco involved a crispy shell filled with ground beef, shredded cheese and iceberg lettuce. Thankfully I have been educated into the cult of a real taco. A great taco is a balancing act that involves four parts by my count: 1. freshly grilled/seared meat 2. soft tacos heated for 10 seconds on each side to develop a slight chewiness 3. a vinegary spicy salsa 4. chopped onion and cilantro to add crunch and flavor When I opened my package of four carnita tacos I was saddened by the pile of greasy, flavorless pork encased by cold, limp tacos. The tacos went straight from the package to plate with no intermediary grill top heating. The pork clearly came directly from a warming table and did not seem to be seasoned and was truly uninspired. The onion and cilantro was meager in comparison to the meat and did not have the proper balance of ingredients. Finally the salsa — I used green and red — did not have any kick and was likewise lost in the gross pot roast pork. I have been to taco trucks at least one hundred times and my favorite one charged a 1.10 per taco and I generally found them good to great. Slightly charred pork that melted grease and fat against the hot grill surface to attain a satisfying chewy /crunch on the otter bits. A scattering of onion lending a crunchy onion burst. A chewy outer shell topped off with a bright, spicy salsa that cut through the salty, seared pork. Taqueria Tequila failed on each of these counts. I bought four tacos that cost almost 10.00 and despite my ravenous hunger I could only stomach three before disposing the last one in the compost pile. A well made taco is on one hand a simple thing that requires a balance of ingredients. This place has been in the neighborhood for years and I am AMAZED they could get something so basic to the menu of a mexican restaruant so completely wrong.

I love this place for four reasons: 1) They’re close to my house. 2) The food is consistently good. 3) They have a salsa bar. 4) The folks at the register are wonderful and kind. They also(promptly) bring your food to your table if you’re dining in. *Just a quick note for parents: the gals there are so kind to my two kids, I couldn’t not mention it in my review. It’s rare to find a place that can get super busy and still find a few seconds to be nice — to kids!

Five stars because this is perfect for what it is: solid weeknight Mexican food without the frills. You can find better Mexican in Seattle, but at much higher prices and less casual atmosphere. Margaritas: A+(cheap, delicious, and strong) Chips: A+ Salsas: A(good variety, but none that I can’t live without) Beans: A(black refried with some cheese, simple but delicious) Rice: A–(not bad, but I usually only eat the rice if I’m still hungry after the rest) Favorite meal: Carne asada plate, marinated and simply grilled.

It’s always tough to compare Mexican food in Seattle with other areas of the country like Texas or California, but Taqueria Tequila has an expansive menu with something for everyone. I’ve had a handful of meals there and for takeout and I’m in love with their tacos and their burritos. Unlike some places around town, the food here has always seemed a whole lot fresher and hot when it comes out of the kitchen, which is a huge plus in my book(who wants to eat cold carne asada??) Staff has always been really nice and attentive, but not overbearing, especially when I’m dining with someone else and we’re trying to have a conversation. The price point is great for Seattle-area restaurants and their lunch specials are a steal.

The beef enchiladas here totally hit the spot! Encased in tender corn tortilla, the ground beef is well-spiced and delicious! The rice and beans were satisfying as well. What’s even better is that this place is totally casual. Even on a chilly day, you feel like you are transported to the warmer climes of Mexico with the sounds of Telemundo in the background. Overall, this is a great casual spot in Greenwood to chow down on Mexican food and the service was friendly!

I’ve eaten here a couple of times. Tonight I had the Carne Asada with beans and rice($ 15). The beef was cooked well and had decent flavor. I also enjoyed the beans and rice. The Habenero sauce was killer! Nice heat! My only issue with this place are the prices. Thier Unilocal page lists TT as a $ restaurant. Almost every meal on the menu is $ 12 -$ 15. That’s not outrageous but, in comparison, Tropicos Breeze on Aurora is listed on Unilocal as a $$ restaurant. However, thier Carne Asada is a dollar less and is much better.

After a most horrific experience, I felt that I needed to review this place. Now, I’m a Mexican, I grew up with beans all the time, and I know that nothing is going to be as good as my Grandpa’s, but I love a cheap authentic hole in the wall as much as the next person(I’m a veggie after all, you shouldn’t be able mess up the beans at a Mexican joint!). This food was SOBAD, we threw it out. We had three sep meals, they were all HORRIBLE. First off, let me explain the bean situation — bland as hell, no flavor. This was a major disappointment… Next, the cheese — it’s that cheap cheese you get at Domino’s pizza(that has to say«REAL cheese» on the package, because it looks and tastes so nasty, you’re not sure what the white brick of goo really is). Seriously, it was FOUL. The veggies were ok, we had a veggie quesadilla, but just not interesting. When’s the last time you had cauliflower, broccoli & carrots in a quesadilla? NEVER. Usually, it’s zucchini, yellow squash, bell peppers, roasted tomatoes, etc. I’m sorry, this was such a bad experience for us, I felt it was just a shame that other people would go and spend money on this. It came up to $ 28 for 3 dishes, which isn’t bad, but I can tell you, it’s QUANTITY not QUALITY. I don’t want a gigantic burrito that tastes like s***. I want a normal sized burrito that is flavorful, authentic with quality ingredients. The End.

Durango burrito tasted great. I thought it would be heavier but it was surprisingly light. Salsa bar was good. That combo definitely makes it on the top burrito list for Seattle. Menudo could have had more flavor from the bit hat I tried. From what I was told, the corn tortillas are delicious and probably made in house. It’s a bit out of the way for me but I could see myself coming back if I was in the neighborhood.

If you want straight up, classic, fresh Mexican, this is the place. The TV is huge, so get there early during World Cup season. Call in and order and pickup for when you want a quiet dinner at home without cooking. Tacos are the BOMB!

I just moved to Seattle from Arizona and have had an extremely hard time finding good Mexican Food. If i am coming to your«Mexican Restaurant» and am told not to worry the food is not spicy then i will leave. That has been my number one complaint is that the food is not spicy. I go to Mexican restaurants to eat good and spicy food and Taqueria Tequila has satisfied both for me. They have great Tacos and the salsa bar is awesome. Makes me feel like I am back in Arizona.. . almost!

They have one of the better vegetarian burritos around with a good selection of veggies in a wonderfully large burrito. I enjoy a good veggie burrito for time to time, but only when it has a good compliment of vegetables. This one was complete with squash, broccoli and other veggies. They also have some decent salsas in their salsa bar to go with your order. Otherwise I felt like this was an average Mexican restaurant, only you walk up to the counter to order and seat yourself. I wasn’t enamored with my lunch special burrito, nor the chicken taco I ordered on the side, the taco had rice in it which I found unusual. For me, everything was just OK. My friend orders the veggie burrito and was presented with an enormous portion that he was quite content with.

Oooh! Taco, taco! We practically moved to Greenwood just so we could visit this place more easily. The ingredients in the soft tacos are always super fresh, and the price for them are amazing. Their chips and salsa are the best we’ve found in all of Seattle. As a vegetarian, I usually get the cheese quesadilla and add peppers & onions. I’m not keen on their«vegetable burrito» options – the stuffing of chopped broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower feel like they came from a frozen bag. So, just stay clear of the«vegetarian» options by building your own dishes, and you’ll be fine. My vegan and gluten-intolerant friends always eat here easily, too. Their horchata is PERFECT and their giant margaritas always a delight. I’m a big ambiance fan, so I also love the carved wood booths, the constant airing of Telemundo, the plastic cerveza flags, and all the vibrant colors. All of the staff are extremely nice, greeting everyone amigos and amigas. My only complaint is that I go so often, you’d think I’d get a glimmer of recognition when I walk in. It’s nice to feel bonded with the establishment when you’re a regular. Although super nice, the staff here obviously aren’t looking to be buds. Not a huge deal, though, and I’ll keep going back again and again.

Came here tonight for a quick dinner. Pretty standard Mexican joint in Seattle. Place is clean, food is good, prices may be a little on the high end but not too bad. I had the burrito tequila with their marinated pork, that thing was huge! It also cost almost $ 10, so it better have been a good size! My girlfriend had the combo plate with two beef tacos which she enjoyed as well. The parking lot was full so we had to park around the corner where there’s plenty of spots in the residential area. It’s a convenient neighborhood spot. I’d recommend it if you’re in the mood for Mexican food and you’re in the area!
