Extremely discourteous. The owner lady was extremely rude. Asked us to wait and not keep looking at our faces. I guess they have a monopoly in this area that makes them behave like this.

My boyfriend and I came in on one of the hottest days, it was pretty hot in the restaurant and the cook I believe was probably working a lot in the heat. I give him props for that, food was pretty outstanding. My boyfriend hadn’t had Indian food before until I brought him in to this place not knowing if it would be good. Checked Unilocal and had pretty good reviews. Although the communication between the young man and his parents weren’t great but I mean it’s a restaurant, it’s going to be like that when its hot and busy. Best Indian food I had, great service. My new favorite Indian place by far. I’m Indian, and I love my Indian food. The young man, was very nice and hope he does well with his restaurant.

We were here for lunch buffet. The options were very less and also the food was not hot and fresh. There was only one staff managing the entire shift for lunch. So they hardly changed the plates of our table. Not a great one that I would recommend for Indian food near Seattle space needle.

Wow. One of my very, very rare 1(or even 2) star reviews. I arrived for the buffet 20 minutes before it was due to close, and asked if it was too late, was everything still there. I was told that it was, and then ignored. Noticed the naan was really dried out, like it had been there since the buffet opened. Was told that they would bring fresh naan, but the young man who said that continued to talk to an older staff member, while 2 other staff also sat at tables, eating their lunch. Nothing was done. Then, when I then noticed that the mint chutney was gone, the same young man told me that they don’t make new chutney after 2:30. Buffet closes at 3… When I expressed my dismay, he said, «We are closed,» and took my plate from my hands. I kid you not. 63 years of life, and Tandoori Hut is the first and only business to ever ask me to leave!(And I was a teenager, even!)

Over priced pathetic Indian food. Especially the samosas.

A hit and a miss lunch buffet experience. The samosas and mutton curry were delicious and mutton tasted like the cooked at home version. But the Tandoori Chicken was cold and unappetizing. Overall average food. Masala chai at the end was a hit though.

My husband and I visit this place frequently for their egg biriyani and tomato soup. Their mushroom sabji, mango lassi and tomato soup are my personal favorites. Staff is friendly and service is quick.

Nice ambiance, tasty food, warm welcome by staff, I think thats what is a great combination available at this place. They do take some time to settle people in and someone in rush should not go there, but if you have time to enjoy a nice tasting dinner, try it out

Worst experience. No customer service if you are Indian. Very expensive. The Indian lady there will look down upon you as if you are a refugee who just landed here. She will treat you that was too. The food cost 87 $ for 4 of us and 2 small kids for dinner. Out of courtesy I added a 3 $ tip for the guy who served us. A couple days later I checked my credit card bill and I was charged $ 100. They probably coolly prefixed a 1 before the 3 and made it $ 13 tip. Cheats! Have to give a 1 rating as there is no provision here for a negative rating.

Very average food! Lassi was like a juice, not thick. Gravies were also very thin. The kheema naan was the only good thing.

Always great lunch buffet. Can’t go wrong with unlimited fluffy basmati rice and very high-quality made chicken tikka masala and raita. The service is always great, too.

Hopeless Service! I was visiting Seattle with my husband and decided to walk in to this place. We were standing at the door for 5 minutes with nobody bothering to show us to our table. Then this lady walks up to us from the kitchen and angrily shows us a table at a distance while saying«we’ll be late!». Our order was taken after 15 minutes and by that time we had already lost interest in this place. Our food arrived after a long time and it wasn’t very tasty. Would NOT recommend this place!

We went out in the hopes of having a lunch buffet. We arrived, paid for parking, we glad when we saw the sign right outside the door, confirming that yes, lunch buffets are available on Saturdays, until 3pm, for $ 12.95. We went in at 1pm, figuring that gave us more than enough time, were seated, and when we inquired as to the buffet, were told that«that was an old sign, and there is no longer a lunch buffet on Saturdays». NORMALLY, little things like that don’t tend to, phase me, but it really annoys me when I feel as though there has been a «bait and switch». We did look at the menu items offered, but most of the entrees we’re single items for $ 16 – 18 per person. I’m happy to pay for this for a dinner out, not for a casual lunch. The WHOLEREASON we went in was for the advertised buffet. If this has changed, I would highly recommend ceasing use of the sign advertising it. Needless to say, we left and went to CJ’s instead.

We stumbled across Tandoori Hut randomly driving through Seattle. The place was clean and quiet. Décor and ambience really make you feel like you are in an Indian restaurant. The waiter and host were extremely nice and hospitable. My husband ordered the lamb biryani and I ordered the butter chicken which came with a side of basmati rice. We also ordered a traditional naan bread and a poori bread. Both breads were delicious and complimented the butter chicken sauce. The lamb biryani was also accompanied by a side of raita yogurt sauce, which was delicious. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The only thing I would say was disappointing was the portions. Kind of small for the price you pay but other than that this place is worth it.

I really liked the food. The person who got my order on the phone was kind enough to tell me that I was over ordering for 2 people. Not many places do that. The food wasn’t spicy and catered to my spice level. In terms of the taste, a better job could definitely be done:)

This place is pretty good. I’m India so I will say the food has a very authentic taste to it. My only issue is that they don’t make the food spicy when asked. The spice levels seem pretty inconsistent and I hope they fix this. Otherwise pretty good food.

I ran into this place on a Saturday afternoon and their sign board said Buffet. I don’t like to eat at buffets, So I was hesitant to enter, but we were tired and hungry so did anyway. Good News — sign board was wrong, no buffet on weekends. Pros — The service was good. There was only one lady probably the owner taking care of all guests. Food was pretty good. Very flavorful and not sweet like i have eaten in some other indian restaurants. Cons — portion sizes are very small and expensive for the quantity they offer. Location is pretty nice. Close to waterfront in Belltown.

This has been my boyfriend and I’s go to spot for Indian for about 2 years now. I love feeling like I’m part of the family. Always greeted with such warmth. Our typical order is memorized down to our spice level. It’s the best lamb saag around! I love that spice level does not just equal more heat, but more flavor. Probably visit about once a month. Highly recommend!

Went to get out of the rain for lunch one day. The Lunch buffet is a must avoid. Nothing tasted good and the cuts of meat were obviously things they were trying to get rid of. Even the naan was questionable… The service was good, but not worth going here for. Maybe the ala carte menu is okay, but I won’t be back to try it.

This one was a bit hard to rate. We came here with a group of 25 for dinner. They were able to accommodate us pretty well. They took our order table by table though and we had like 6 tables. The server then disappeared for a while and the food would come out like 10 minutes later. Then, she took the next table’s order. I felt it wasn’t very effective and we had 2 tables completely done with dinner before the 4th table even got to order. Overall, the food was solid so it’s hard to complain too much, but it really gave it a very disjointed feel to our group dinner.

Pathetic service, rude behavior. We ordered to go. Their shahi paneer and daal tadka were too watery. Hardly any paneer. Worst of all the curries were not fresh. You could tell it from the taste. Looks like they just heated up some stale curries after adding more water. When told them on phone they were not ready to take the feedback. Lady, who picked up the phone, said that is how they make the curries and talked rudely.

Very bad food, dishes were very watery and shahi paneer had very few pieces of paneer. It was not even 8PM and it felt like they are using stale dishes and adding lots of water to increase the quantity. We had ordered for takeout and on realizing that food is not well made, we called the restaurant to check if they can replace it. Firstly the person who picked up the call was very rude and she started preaching that’s how curries are made and she won’t do anything. So, we called again and this time asked for the owner(apparently she and her son are the owners). She said she will replace the food and will send someone if possible for delivery. This was our dinner time and we had to rely on her mercy to whether have dinner or have watery dinner. On asking again, she confirmed she will send someone. We waited for around 30 minutes for new food and the delivery person called and refused to come upstairs to our apartment. When we went down, he said he will only REPLACE the food and won’t give us the new packet till we return the old one(This is the FIRST time I have heard of such ridiculous statement). So, we asked him to come upstairs and check the food himself. He refused and we also refused to bring the old food downstairs. So, in the end after this drama of one hour, we still have NO dinner and lost money on horrible food we can’t eat.

I didn’t even get to taste the food — which was supposed to be good based on reviews. We got to the restaurant 20 mins **before** it advertises it closes at for lunch. Initially the guy offered takeout. We were a family of five with kids, so obviously I needed a minute to think about where we were going to sit and eat if we did. Within a couple of seconds, he pulled that offer right back in the most discourteous way he possibly can. Even when I told him I would take it, he wouldn’t let me. It’s not a place I’d try again, no matter the taste of the food.

AVOID!!! Like others have said, this place is over-priced and the portions are small. Despite that, we used to love their Chicken Korma! However, we ordered food recently and they messed up the spice level and made it nuclear. We have always ordered the same spice for two years, and their cook is not new(we asked), so we knew a mistake was made. They denied a mistake was made and YELLEDATUS, saying that we were wrong and we «couldn’t handle spice so shouldn’t order it.»(Ummm, I didn’t order it, that was the problem. It should have been an easy replacement fix.) Long story short, they tried to eat our food off our plates to «teach their cook a lesson,» wouldn’t replace the too-spicy dish, and then,(as they have to others here on Unilocal), they told us we couldn’t return to eat there.(Huh? Like we would?) I don’t know what happened to them this year, but they simply suck now. No idea why they have changed so badly, but we won’t be returning regardless. AVOID!!!

We ordered to go, but we were treated very well. The woman told us to make ourselves comfortable and even let us sit in the last booth. We had enough time to have some mango lassi but the wait wasn’t long and they even served us water. My husband didn’t like that there was no AC, but I was fine with the fans. A little pricey for the portions, but everything was really tasty.

The portions for the lamb curry were ridiculously small and especially so at $ 16.39 per dinner serving. In all honesty, the portion was worth $ 8 or less… sized more like tapas or appetizers. As for the flavor, there wasn’t much to it & the sauce was very watery. Spice level was more like ¾ hot than the requested«all the way». Yes, we all know Indian food is often ‘pricier’ than other cuisines. However, this restaurant takes it to a new level with subpar food served in embarrassingly small portions at comically high prices.

Found this place during a walk and decided to come back another day. Very happy I did! Ordered: BUTTERCHICKEN GARLICANDBASILNAAN BUFFALOWINGS ALL dishes tasted great! Initially thought the portions were small but the flavor packs a punch and I left feeling full and satisfied! ATMOSPHERE Family owned and casual. A nice break from modern Seattle vibes. RICE? Nice! We were happy to find that the Entrees came with rice already and you didn’t need to order the rice separately which was a nice surprise! Most Indian cuisine establishments ask you to order separately and gain the costs from it too. You don’t have to worry about that here! SAUCYWINGS The buffalo wings are a must-order if you are a wing lover like me. The wings are coated generously in this tomato spice sauce which immediately brought a smile to my face – insanely good! A wonderful flavor, with a cross between sweet chili sauce and tomato garlic sauce! I wish I had a spoon and a bowl of THAT sauce. The chicken was tender and fell off the bone. MINTCHUTNEYGIVESMELIFE I put that hypnotically refreshing cilantro kick on everything with no hesitation or concern for portion. If you love cilantro like me, THEMORETHEBETTER. It pairs with the spiciness of the dishes perfectly. THEBESTPEOPLEWORKHERE My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time getting to know the staff. The restaurant is family owned and it has a great family owned feel. They checked on us, asked about our food and were genuinely curious about how it tasted(great btw), and even asked about my Hawaiian heritage. We really got to know them in the short amount of time we were there. One of those interactions that leave you with a great feeling afterwards. In two words: Authentic and kind! We live in the neighborhood and this will be a new favorite. As it is owned by great people, the feeling is more like having a meal while visiting family. TIPS *No need to order extra rice! It comes with your entrée. *Naan size is pretty big, enough to split between 2 people.(Unless your like naan-selfish me and want it all to yourself) *They deliver and are open until 10pm! Thanks for the great experience Tandoori Hut!

As someone who will take any opportunity to eat as much Indian food as possible, I will never pass up a $ 7.95 lunch buffet. Tandoori Hut doesn’t have the best Indian food I’ve had in Seattle(that honor goes to Taste of India in the U district) but the buffet has pretty good food, and an impressively varied selection. It’s also a very clean and well-run restaurant, and staff will come and check on you every once in a while even during the buffet times. All in all, very satisfying for times when you want to stuff your face with Indian food.

The food is decent. I went to their lunch buffet and I filled myself a good size plate and was full. The food was a 3.8 out of 5, but still good. If you’re on a budget and want to eat a ton of Chicken Curry then go to their buffet. You can only fill one plate, but you can get as much of any on one plate as you wish. Service was excellent. Very kind and welcoming. I’ll go again.

Good spot for Indian food, and it’s just a couple of blocks away from my place. We ordered the samosas, butter chicken, saag paneer, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious! The garlic naan was super garlicky – I wanted more! The veggie samosas we ordered were really good, especially with the mint sauce. You definitely can’t go wrong with this place if you’re craving some delicious Indian food.
