Came in here for the first time for a friend’s birthday and had the friendliest of staff serve us. They were really prompt and made a lot of great suggestions on drinks and food.

Hands down, I love this place. Come for the happy hour, stay for the awesome conversation, great food and drinks. First of all, let me say more about that awesome happy hour. They have really great drink specials that vary every day of the week. Their food specials are also really generous. I’m talking a full meal here — mole chicken, tacos, tortilla soup. These happy hour«small plates» aren’t messing around. The mains are just as generous as those happy hour specials. You’ve got your average burrito or enchilada, but there’s plenty more interesting options. Also, nachos. Have I told you about the nachos? THEYAREENORMOUSANDDELICIOUS. The bar is fully stocked, with everything from your average chill time tequila and beer to classier liquors. They have outdoor seating that’s amazing on warmer days, and the inside is bigger than it looks. I’m definitely a fan and recommend it for anyone looking to chill with some friends.

Pipian pollo was not reminiscent at all of the pipian in Mexico and was watery and tasteless. Enchiladas were undercooked and nothing special. Service was friendly. View of lake was nice. Prices expensive for lunch. Maybe they’re known for margaritas. Had an extensive tequila menu. Will come back for happy hour.

We live in Magnolia and go to the Freemont location often. We decided to use Bitesquad, we were feeling lazy. My girlfriend accidentally chose Greenlake location. Huge mistake! As we came to find out. Much smaller portions, the rice had very little flavor compared to Freemont. My «super» burrito was the size of a regular at Freemont. And the worst was the BBQ pork in the burrito was full of fat! I spit out 8 big chunks of fat after making it ½ way through the burrito. The chips were good and the beans… Well they are beans. Hard to screw up. Never again.

Good food, portions, drinks, and location. Unpretentious and festive with an easy walk to beautiful Greenlake. A lovely place to come on a sunny day.

This place is just awful. The food quality is what kills it. It’s fairly priced, great location, and quick food delivery. They have a salsa bar but even that can’t save it. I had the chicken tacos. They came wig received beans and Spanish rice. The rice was rock hard and the beans devoid of flavor. The tacos were beyond bad, the chicken was stringy and were logged, they lacked flavor and the tortilla weren’t cooked and also were water logged. If your in Seattle go to taco chukis or tnt taqueria instead. In fact Taco Bell would be a better choice even.

Worst veggie tacos EVER. I ordered the«taco plate» which usually comes with choice of meat for $ 10.99. I asked for veggies instead of meat since I’m vegan. The tacos consisted of rice, beans and pico de gallo. Granted they would have had cheese and sour cream if I wasn’t vegan. So basically I’m looking at a plate of a whole lot of rice and beans with some corn tortillas. When I asked for a side of lettuce to make them actually contain a vegetable I was told that would cost $ 1.20. WTF? I didn’t even get meat… why should I pay extra for some cheap ass iceberg lettuce people?! Ugh!!! Never coming back!!!

It was our first time yesterday(July 4th). Pretty cool place across greenlake. We sat outside because we had our dog and we loved it. We got to watch a volleyball Tournament from actors the street. They have pretty good selections for Mexican foods. They gave us free plate of nacho chips plus salsa while deciding on what to order. I love their happy hour. Our server was really nice. I didn’t get his name but it was his first day at work yesterday. He did his job well. :-) My bf and I both ordered their house margarita for $ 6 each(happy hour price) it’s a pretty huge glass of blended margarita! I recommend their happy hour and we will be coming back!

The only good thing was the margaritas. Service was terrible. They wanted to start charging for tortilla chips after the second bowl, even though we were four people ordering food and margaritas. The food was bland and unexciting. My friend asked if they’d do a veggie enchilada and it turned out just to be rubbery cheese wrapped in a tortilla. It was terrible. the only reason we went there was because rositas was closed for the day. I’d recommend rositas over this place.

Decent food. Good Rita’s. Busy kitchen. Kid friendly. I love their veggie burritos. You’ll get some pretty good nachos with salsa while you wait for your food.

The front door lady and the chip girl were just wonderful. My bad experience was with the food and the waitress. She only showed up to take the order and to bring it, other than that we never saw her again. 2 of us ordered the carne asada and she not once asked how we wanted it cooked, when it arrived I began to cut into it and it was still red inside. I was a little disgusted. The beans were also not cooked right. A little hard and tasteless. Last time We come here for sure.

+1 star for location. + 1 star because they have a self-serve bar of salsas; now that’s awesome. +1 star for huge portions with fresh ingredients. –1 star for forgetting two of the ingredients on my taco salad. –1 for the waitress arguing with me about it until I showed her the menu. –1 for the quality of my sloppy mess of a taco salad I got today. + 1 star for the quality of burrito I got a few weeks ago. –1 star for the waitresses complaining about me thinking I had left the restaurant already. + 1 star for value. My bill was $ 10. +1 star for the nice male server who works there. +1 star for good chips. Go here for outside seating, for average/different non-Mexican Mexican food, and make sure you get what you ordered. I will return, but I won’t crave it.

Despite the really horrible reviews my boyfriend and I saw for this place, we were looking for a mexican food restaurant that was open late. I ordered the enchiladas and they were horrible. The rice was barely warm, some pieces were even crunchy. The enchiladas didn’t seem cooked and the sauce was drenched over the top. wayyyy too much sauce! The cheese barely melted. The refried beans weren’t refried and it seemed to have the same juices all over the plate, as if they opened a can of beans and poured them on the plate. The sangria was the best part and the only good part. I will never be going back here. kind of sad the food sucks since they have such a nice view of the lake.

Cesar and his team at Tacos Guaymas Green Lake helped us put on a birthday party for ~25 people. We called a week ahead of time, reserved space for everyone, figured out a pre-ordered set of food and drinks and everything was done perfectly, as described and with an amazing, friendly attitude that makes me want to go back. I have been to Tacos Guaymas before and their best menu items are the tacos. If you are looking for LA-style burritos, or Tex-Mex style food, don’t come here. Their Mexican food is actually closer to what you get in Mexico(read: the tacos remind me of Mexican street tacos, and that is a compliment.) Not only that, but good drinks and great service. Thanks Cesar and Tacos Guaymas; we will be back again!

Burrito was dry and bland, rice simmered in some tomato stew for way too long, beans undercooked, and carnitas tasted more like pork jerky than braised meat. I was most flabbergasted because it had no cheese! NOCHEESE in my burrito? EDIT: I looked online at the menu and the burrito indeed did not come with cheese(get the super burrito with guac sour cream and cheese if you like). However that was unclear on the take out menu. Somehow the girl who took my order asked if I wanted sour cream and guacamole(no thanks), but didn’t ask if I wanted cheese. Every bite into that giant mesh I felt like my glands were missing something cheesy… Good location, decent salsa bar, but food needs more flavor. Maybe I’ll come back for drinks during HH but I’d be hesitant to eat here again.

I want to start off my saying the location is great across from the lake with outside seating which is incredibly awesome, because we’re having a bit of Indian Summer. Let’s start with service very slow today contrary to some of the reviews below. Waited about 15 – 20 mins on a slow day today to have our order taken. The lime in the Margarita was spoiled or rotten that was disturbing wonder what else they’re serving that’s rotten. Ummmm! I wouldn’t recommend this place

On a hot summer day, after spending quality time at Green Lake Park, I had even more quality time at Tacos Guaymas. Even though they had a bar inside, I simply couldn’t pass up sitting outdoors. The guy serving me, Hector, was really nice and continually referred to me as «my friend.» It’s always nice to have waiters that show some warmth to customers. He brought me the steak picado I had ordered within only seven minutes. That was actually a lot of food. There was rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a whole bunch of meat to stuff into tortillas. The meal was a bit on the expensive side at $ 14.99, but I liked it enough to not complain about it. I would come back if I happened to be around Green Lake.

I should start off by saying that I LOVE Mexican food, and rarely do I complain about it because Mexican food is near impossible to mess up. Typically anything with cheese tastes great, right? Here was disappointing though… First off, the chips are great, but the salsa stinks. They give you a tiny ramekin of it, that you have to break a chip into tiny pieces to be able to dunk into it. The salsa is so watery it won’t even stick to the chip at all. The taco selection here is also sad. Most Mexican places have a wide selection of tacos. Here they just have a «taco plate» where it is one type of taco. What the heck?!? Service also stunk. I had to order a side of sour cream three times before getting it.

We came in here post kids-basketball game, and for our burrito loving youngster, its a-okay. This kid would eat a burrito after eating a burrito. In regards to Mexican food, she is happy anytime someone gives her some. Enough said. For the adult set, we like the location, right on Greenlake, which is always a great setting, but its sadly a very challenging spot to find a nice meal. You know what you are getting at at Tacos Guaymas. On the plus side, really friendly and well meaning service(albeit not that effective), big combo plates, lots of rice and beans, über big burritos, all the standard faux Mexican food(at best) and you can order a margarita or Corona. However, its really saying something when they bring you a Corona with a lime, and not a lemon. Ugh. I always read the Unilocal and since Mexican food is always tasty on some level, its rice and beans and cheese, and it’ll be okay even if its bad. But then its bad. Even when you knew it would be, that is still a disappointment somehow. You get what you get. It is what it is. The burritos are salty and the chips aren’t terrific. The portions are terrifically huge. Your kid is happy. In other words, its fine in a pinch.

I came here with my running group after monthly adventure run. We decided to have dinner here and hang out a bit. A few of my runner buddies arrived first and got 8 – 10 of us a table. So, when I was there, I didn’t have to wait. I loved the salad bar(there are a few kinds of salsa you can choose) and the chips. My food was ok. The staff was able to give us the corner to us, a big group. However, she wasn’t able to communicate well about how we were going to pay. We got confused with and took us a while to figure out. I am hoping to visit again because I heard they have good Happy Hour!
