I’m not a big customer. I’m not even what you would call a hobbyist. I just have the random need for more of a particular screw, bolt, nut, whatever. Tacoma Screw has always come through for me. The time I came here I just needed 18 more screws of a particular thread and length. The staff here was very curteous and spend the time with me to identify the exact size I needed and find me the pieces I needed. Given how few I pieces I needed, whatever they were charging seemed fair since I needed exactly those things. I’ve always recommended coming to Tacoma Screw when somebody needs a fastener. I only wish that they would expand to the Bay Area because I haven’t found a place as awesome.

Some of the best customer service on finding you the right screw for the job/​project you are working on. Their prices on tools and supplies are up there but they stock top of the line stuff.

I love this place. I always feel a bit bad because I’m typically buying a very small quantity of hardware for the various rando DIY projects I’m working on, but the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a just the right fastener, who would prefer not to waste half an hour searching through the bins at a big box store.

This place has been incredibly useful for moving into our new (old) house. Go in there with an idea of what you need, you can sketch it on some paper to show the nice people behind the counter what you are looking for. They will disappear to the back room, and come back with some options.
When you walk in head straight for the ticket spitter machine and take a number. While you wait, look around at all the fun stuff they have. Do you need a 5 gallon bucket of WD40? Because they have that. I do wish that prices were better marked though.
They have an amazing selection of screws, fasteners, and doodads. I highly recommend checking these guys out before home depot if you are looking for that odd fastener.

Competitive prices, knowledgeable staff, and the only place to find unusual nuts/​bolts/​fasteners/​screws. If they don’t carry it they will direct you somewhere that does. If you just need one or two screws they will usually just give it to you for free. Much better selections than the big-​box hardware stores, especially for different materials like stainless steel.
They also have a good selection of hand tools, a great selection of files and other odds and ends. Check them out!
