SOSADTOHEARYOUCLOSED! This was the best late night taco place i’ve ever known not just within Seattle, but among the several other US cities I’ve lived in. The guys that owned it are awesome people who knew how to have fun with customers and serve rowdy people. Hope that you’ll reopen again someday!

SADTHATIT’S CLOSED! It’s hard for me to make the transition from California Mexican food to Seattle… mainly because Seattle has shit Mexican food. With the exception of the great tortas at Pancho Villa, Taco Gringos serves up delicious and interesting tacos every time. Most notable dishes include any of their lamb, beef tongue, and pork tacos. I tried the rabbit(my first venture into the consumption of this adorable animal) and it left an unsatisfying feeling in my taste buds. I keep hearing that the guys that work here are kinda assholes, but I’ve never gotten that feeling. Sure they’re sorta aloof and maybe don’t want to deal with your drunken bullshit, but it’s not like I would either.

Three Haiku’s for Taco Gringos Gringos closed?! How sad. So many fond memories I will now treasure. Drunk weirdos eating Exotic veggie tacos Around 2AM. What went wrong? Who knows. What went right is so simple: Cheap fusion Mex food.

This is really one of the best things about Capitol Hill. They have exotic and fun(rabbit? goat? veggie purees?) flavors, the portions are perfectly sized, and the staff is awesome. And the menu is always changing. Fast service, too! This place is the perfect end to a night out.

These tacos are the best vegetarian tacos in Seattle, period. They change over time; I’ve had everything from curried cauliflower tacos to pumpkin pepitas tacos. They’re $ 2 each, so get at least three. A meal might be closer to 5 tacos, but what a great $ 10 meal. The green sauce is the best. Eat ‘em while you stand outside and enjoy the Hill, or take a seat in one of the three little chairs. They’re usually empty. Opens at 8pm so grab a drink at Montana or the Saint while you wait. If it’s Montana, then bring them over and eat them in front of the drooling masses.

I go here regularly. The vegi tacos are good especially when they do the ones with snap peas in them. The owner Michael always has a grumpy face on so don’t take it personal I would probability be just as grumpy if I had to deal with all of the idiots that arrive from 8:30pm-2am I recently read the article in city arts about the two owners and there background is in cooking and have worked at some place down in pike place market. I actually really appreciate that the owners still are working there and haven’t hired other people to run it. This means they either really care about the vision and integrity or the rent of that location is so expensive that it doesn’t make sense. I like to think it is the former since they make it all and also make the salsa/hotsauce from scratch. Obviously the green one is the best. I defiantly recommend this place to other and I like the hours.

Brilliant idea to have that small space instead of another taco truck. PROS: Cheap, great quality food and great location!!! Absolutely delicious 2 dollar tacos. The meat as well as vegetarian tacos have a lot of flavor in them. I can be very indecisive and it helps that there are only 3 – 4 choices on the menu. The menu does change every night. CONS: Parking, cash only and hrs!!! I wish they opened a little earlier to be able to get an evening snack!

Taco Gringos is simplicity at its best and is the ready answer for whenever one has latenight craving for Mexican food. The place can also be a great recommendation for your friends as a hangover cure joint. Taco Gringos offers a limited selection of 3 types of tacos to chose from every night from 8PM to 2AM in morning. The place is located between Denny and Bellevue on Olive Way. The menu is short and comprises of a total of 3 taco options — 2 meat and 1 vegetarian. These options though are updated regularly so that every time you got the 3 options that you have to chose from are different. The place offers some very good vegetarian options the steamed potato in marinate and the beet tacos I tried were both exquisite. My friends have tried the chicken and the pork tacos and all I can I say is that they did not stop at just one order of the tacos. The people running the joint are friendly and it feels like they opened a restaurant at the back of the house and the food tastes exactly like home cooked food. The place is also great when you are in a time crunch and want to grab a quick bite to eat. The fact that is is also easy on the wallet also adds additional wow points to the place as each taco hits your wallet for just 2 bucks.

The vegetarian tacos hit the spot after a night of being out and about on Capitol hill. Great flavor… just the right price. If you are super hungery, they are on the smaller side be sure to grab two.

Took some out of town friends out here last weekend. I explained to them how the menu is simple, but updated frequently. Kudos, to the guys that run this joint for putting up with my hungry, over-served friends.

I like tacos. I like meat. I like goat. I think it’s neat. I like my salsa all cilantro and chivey. But I _LOVE_a place that plays Operation Ivy. Thank you Taco Gringos. I got a wicked bad crush on you.

I was super drunk. But the tacos were very passable. Merguez lamb and some pulled pork that was pretty much carnitas(good job living up to pinche gringo name and calling it pulled pork though.) The merguez was heavily seasoned and meat textured, but not particularly good. Pork was better. I would have liked some radish or other crunch. The salsa verde is pretty good, salsa rojas are again, passable but not great. They’re definitely shooting at easy(drunk) targets, but doing so intelligently at least.

While eating tacos last night… Random Girl: If I were to die tomorrow, I will die happy because this pork taco is effing good. My BF: What if you get hit by a taco truck? Random Girl: Well that would be tragic(or something to that sort) True story. Pork tacos, and don’t get just two. Perhaps eight will do, but it is a bit pricey IMHO.

Oh. Em. Gee!!! This cute little place has some serious strong smells wafting from it’s doors as you walk by. It’s hard to keep walking without going in and getting SOMETHING. I like that there is more of an option than just chicken and beef. I could probably eat about 10 of these things every time i’m ordering, but 3 does the job well done. They have just the right amount of spice and flavor and the meats are always tender and juicy. Sometimes i feel like tacos can be too onion-y or just doused in salsa, no siree — not here. Plus, it’s fast and cheap. perfect for any meal of the day — but obviously it’s the best– late night on the stumble home from the bars on Capitol Hill.

Crazy tasty tacos. I think this is a great alternative to some greasy street food you can get elsewhere on Capitol Hill. Bold flavors and bold ideas come from this teeny tiny spot. I’ve come here for rabbit tacos, tongue tacos, and other more ‘normal’ options like chicken. Open late, reasonably priced, though I think they’re still cash only, and they have all kinds of lovely salsas. They may not be the most authentic tacos I’ve ever had but I’d still eat them over Rancho Bravo any day. Those aren’t authentic either(rubber tortillas!) but at least at Taco Gringos you get something really unique and fresh.

Fast, tasty and cheap — exactly what’s needed for late night noshing. Try the vegetarian taco — it’s some sort of not-too-spicy cauliflower mush on a fresh, soft tortilla. $ 2 each(cash only), and be sure to order two or three or else you’ll be a sad drunkie.

I’ve had better tacos at taco del mar. I don’t see not doubling up on tortillas as an unforgivable sin. What I can’t forgive is how tiny they are to begin with. I ordered four tacos total, I thought I wasn’t given a fourth because one of them was hidden under a fold of paper. Let me repeat that — a small fold of paper was sufficient to completely obscure a taco. Yes they’re «only» two dollars each, but come on, you can go up to Ranco Bravo up the hill and get a much much better meal and more of it for the same money. The only reason you’d come here is if you were a dirty hipster who didn’t know better. If you were a dirty hipster that did know better, you’d walk past this place and just go to Rancho Bravo. I don’t see an upside here.

Let’s face it when you’re drunk and it’s 2am late night food has you by the balls. They could charge me double what I would normally pay and I would be thrilled simply to have food, regardless of quality. Perfect example: $ 2 tiny taco at Taco Gringos. The kicker is that they only use one corn tortilla! Come on, for $ 2 there should be two. Most of they time they’re a dollar and there’s two! It took three bites to finish and it didn’t even hold up. I will say that the vegetarian one with cauliflower was nice. If you’re drunk It’ll do, but doesn’t anything?

Hungry around midnite? Running low on cash? Have a penchant for tacos? Go visit the boys @ Tacos Gringos, conveniently located 2 blocks away from where I live. They serve up a pretty tasty treat for $ 2 each and add a little sass to each order. *shrug* I enjoyed my veggie tacos. I have nothing to bitch about.

2 dolla make you holla! Seriously. After quenching my thirst at the Elite, I shimmied down to Taco Gringos for some asada love per recommendations from several Unilocalers. First, you can’t tell me that 2 bucks for a taco isn’t a steal. Second, I personally think two or three tacos is equivalent to the perfect snack/almost meal. And thirdly, you cannot go wrong with fresh grilled meat, cilantro, pico de gallo and fresh limes. It’s just not possible. Not a place to travel to per say but definitely a good spot to stop in at if you’re in the hood. Most def.
