Swink Style Bar

I booked online and needed to make changes to my reservations. I have called multiple times, nobody ever answers. I have left multiple messages and nobody has called me back. Therefore, I emailed them to cancel both of my appointments. I just don’t have time to chase them down. Guess I will do my own makeup or go to sephora instead.

I’m giving this a ²⁄₅ stars, I would give it a 1 star but they did refund my money and offered for me to come back in and have it re-​done I just was on a time crunch to get it done so I couldn’t go back. I came in to get my hair done for my holiday work party during my lunch. I came in with two pictures, asked the hair stylist her opinion, she didn’t really have one, so I just picked one. She didn’t really ask any other questions. I told her I have fine thin hair and that the only way for it to hold a curl is to use a wand and she proceeded to use a flat iron. I paid 40 dollars for something i could have done and made it look better, I’m very disappointed, with the styling but very pleased with the customer service. I feel like I look like one of those Pinterest fails.

I was confused about my appointment and they made it work. They were nice about it and really tried to squeeze me in. The place is small and beautiful. Excellent job on updos. They know how to make a girl with split ends looks like Kim/​Kourtney/​Khloe Kardashian.

I was a bridesmaids in a wedding this past weekend and I wasn’t thrilled with the hair/​makeup artists the bride had hired. I’m so glad I listened to my instincts and booked an appointment with Cheyenne at Swink. Cheyenne made me look amazing, the makeup was natural but glamorous and lasted from 11am until I washed it off at 4am — I had to touch up my lipstick but no shine and the eye-​makeup didn’t run even thru joyous tears! My hair was fabulous and also stayed thru hours of photos, the ceremony and dancing — which wasn’t the case for the other girls who had their hair done elsewhere.
I can’t recommend Swink enough! Swink came highly recommended to me by 2 close friends and I’m so glad I listened to their advice.

Several friends recommended Swink to me, and since relocating to Seattle a few months ago, I wanted to give it a try before a business trip. I booked a Blowout with a Dry Style. I walked into the store, and wasn’t greeted. The male receptionist was on the phone at the time; a female was stocking product near the front but didn’t acknowledge me, so I just helped myself to a seat. The male receptionist said a pleasant hello after finishing his call & told me my stylist was running behind, which ended up being 15 minutes. Ashley was friendly, but the chair was not cleaned after the previous customer, so I sat in long strands of brunette hair. I didn’t feel like the shampoo had a scent at all (I’m usually obsessed with salon products) and while the blowout was fine, I had told her I wanted my hair straight & smooth since I normally flat iron it. She said she could accomplish «that look» with a brush during the blowout, but I left there feeling displeased, and with wavy hair. I was only charged for a blowout, but returned home to flat iron the look myself. Overall, just mediocre, and it really didn’t save me time.

I recently had hair tinsels applied to my hair. It looked very festival and fun on my black hair…
The gal told me it’ll last for a MINIMUM of two weeks on my hair… She said I’ll be able to do my daily hair/​normal things and it won’t mess up the hair tinsels… I was definitely excited, but the next morning it came out of my hair! Very disappointed!

I go to june jaffee for eyebrows waxing. in both locations but this is the easiest…

They take a credit card and then its all paperless and you get a receipt by email…

Really nice women who work here! They worked hard to make me and my bridesmaids look amazing on my wedding day.
I made an appointment for dry styles and full make up for myself and my bridesmaids (four of us total). Unfortunately, it was not clear that a dry style is different than an up-​do. But, the salon made such an effort to squeeze all of us in and get our make up and hair done the way we wanted that we walked out on time and beautiful.

Well this was basically a catastrophe my stylist was ok very nice girl and my photoshoot got canceled so I was stuck with a hair appointment no big deal because its Friday night right Wrong less than 5 minutes after I left this morning my hair needed to be ran under a flat iron again frizz city and my natural curls came back so quickly it was unreal by the time I got to Westlake center I needed a flat iron this was one of the worst hair experiences I have ever had I’m so glad my photoshoot was canceled because I would have had a hair nightmare on my hands the odds of me returning are slim to none my stylist told me she wasn’t able to get my baby hairs I knew right then I should just get out of the chair and go home save 45 $ and do it myself she my stylist «all white was shocked my hair was just like hers fine and straight and soft «for the last time people I’m FRENCH And Puerto Rican = I do not have nappy hair I have French hair look at the pictures
Don’t get me started when the guy booking my hair appointment got concerned with the stylist I should have just turned around and ran. However my stylist was very friendly «so was the snake that told eve to eat the Apple» so was everyone else for 9 am Friday morning my hair just sucked is all I’ve actually never had this happen so I’m still in shock I think she just didn’t know what products to use on my hair that also sucks because I use aveda and they had what I use on my hair at the salon. Sad day in my hairs life
Back to Gary Manual salon because on days I do have photoshoots I can’t have this type of thing going on. ***what’s worse than all of that is that the girl at the front desk a pretty blonde overcharged me by a significant amount and the salon was happy to find a remedy for this that’s the good thing the owner decided to assist in the situation that’s is ok …

I would rate this higher but my last visit was just eh. I normally go to swink to get my eyelashes done. Last time that I went in for a 60 minute refill appointment it turned out to be an hour and a half. Which would be fine with me if I would of had prior knowledge knowing that it would take that long because I only paid for parking for so long and was so convinced that I got a parking ticket when I looked at the time when the Allison was finished with me. Anyways, she was really harsh with me. Several times, I remember her tugging on my lashes to the point where I did tear up. When she was done she had me try to open my eyes, they were basically stuck from all the excess glue! Worst part is my lashes don’t even look amazing and it’s been only 4 days and I’m calling in somewhere else to get a fill. Only reason why this is three stars is because of the other times I had been in and those times were aright.

On our wedding day in July, 2015, we booked out Swink so 11 members of our family and friends could get their hair & makeup done before the ceremony (my longtime hairstylist was doing my hair & makeup, otherwise I would definitely have had my hair & makeup done at Swink!). They had set out a wonderful lunch for us, complete with champagne! My «girls» returned looking beyond fabulous, and raved about how great the stylists were at Swink. It was great to work with Amy, who arranged everything and made the whole process very smooth. I can’t recommend them highly enough for the fabulousness of your wedding day!

I have NEVER written a Unilocal review in my life, BUT I had to sign up after my amazing experience at Swink Style Bar!
I was a bit apprehensive to have lash extensions, but I was convinced by others that it would look great! So, I decided to go to Swink Style Bar, because that’s where I get my fabulous blow outs!!!
I had Alice and she was so terrific (although, I hear everyone is pretty terrific there!) She asked me right off the bat, «what look are you going for?» I immediately responded «a VERY natural look, I don’t want length, I want volume!»
She put me to ease and explained everything to me!
After she removed my eye make up and saw my lashes, she agreed and said she could make them very natural and full.
After she finished, I looked at my lashes and they were just STUNNING!!! She gave me all the care instructions in full detail!
I went to work the next day with NO need for eye make up! I had my accounts telling me my lashes were beautiful!!! They were asking me where I had them done! People were literally just coming up to me, to ask me where I had them done!
You’re probably wondering, «if they’re so natural how did people know they were done professionally?» Good question!!! Answer: Even though they look very natural, it’s obvious they look to good to be true!!!
My advice. if you’ve been contemplating it… don’t…Just go get them done!!!

Just got done with my first Swink experience. In and out in 40 minutes (I have naturally curly, dirty blonde, medium length hair) and Jessica was awesome. I recently moved back to Seattle from LA and was disappointed by the lack of blow dry bars and especially the price that some salons were charging! Super stoked to find Swink and will definitely be back. They have a punchcard and super easy online booking too!

The best place in Seattle for lash extensions and a blowout, staff are friendly, helpful and do a great job. I’ve been going there for years now and love the atmosphere and of course the service!

My 30^th birthday was NYE this year, and I came to Seattle to celebrate. I chose to get my hair & makeup done here just based on reading reviews, and I’m so glad I did! I got makeup, lashes and hair done for only $ 90 and it all looked amazing! I was also able to book an appointment later in the afternoon on what must be a busy day of the year. I was seen and finished on time and the style held up all night. I’m so glad I came here! I would definitely recommend these services for any special occassion — it’s worth it!

I really don’t understand all of the negative reviews for this location. I’ve been here twice, both for New Years Eve events, and both times I have received excellent service. My most recent visit, Alice did a beautiful job on my updo, and did a wonderful job on my false lashes. I felt so beautiful at the masquerade ball I attended thanks to her :) The staff was very friendly and I left feeling great! Thanks again!

It saddens me to have to update my review with less stars. Now, I love this place so much I can’t handle going below 3 stars. I moved from Seattle to California but every time I visit, I get «Swinked» as I like to say, before a night out. This last time (June, so this is overdue) the style I got was mediocre and something I could have done myself at home with the curling rod and some ColorProof volumizing power. It also didn’t hold up well the next day, one of the reasons I loved Swink so much. That and it used to only be $ 30.
The real issue though was our stylist. Nice gal, but she made age comments to my friend and I… twice. For example, she actually started out a sentence with «Now, I am not as old as you girls, but…». By the second age reference, my friend finally asked her how old she was. 24. I had just turned 29 and my friend was 28. We are both active, eat clean and healthy and look our age. It was pretty inappropriate.
I basically walked out of there paying $ 50 something for hair I could have done at home and maybe not the best customer service. So why do I leave the delayed review now? Well, I will be in town in a couple weeks and was considering making an appointment for my night out with friends but wanted to see if my recent experience was a fluke based on recent Unilocal reviews. It looks like it wasn’t. Such a bummer-​I absolutely loved this place!!! On the plus side-​the décor and atmosphere is still darling, they have great product and the front desk guy was super sweet. In the meantime, I might check out the U-​Village location and try my chances there…

I hate to do this… But this is entirely based on customer service. The services I got there in the past were awesome. I had been looking for a new lash place, and was beyond excited at the awesome job these ladies have done.
However I had an appointment for lashes last Friday and the lady I was booked with was out sick. Which happens, I’m understanding. However they could not accommodate me that day, that weekend, or even for over two weeks. They offered me an apology but zero solution. As someone who works in the same industry, having to cancel an appointment the day of without options for rescheduling is appalling. Bummer, because I thought I found my new lash place.

I swear I wrote a review for this place. Well I came here to get my hair styled for my birthday party. I had a table at Aston Manor so I wanted it to look perfect. Well, it certainly wasn’t. I got the big curls (forgot what style it’s called on the website) and I got that but I told her that I disliked super crunchy hair but guess what, that’d what I got. She also seemed like she didn’t want to be there also. She got done with my hair in 15 minutes (I have long, thick hair) and looked sloppy. I also told her I get a cowlick on my bangs and if she could fix it. Nope, didn’t happen. I could of done a better job myself

Came back to Swink for another blow out and both the manage Vanessa & stylist Brittany took care of me.
My stylist was fabulous. She gave me a great wash (my fav part to catch zzzzzz) and big beautiful blow out! She even pinned up my curls. And let me tell you, I have a lot of hair. It takes a lot of patience to pin them all up. I squealed when she took all the pins out. Love the huge curls!!! Now it’s the day after and I still have them.
And they do blowout specials on Tuesday for only $ 25! Thats $ 10 off of their normal price for an hour of wash and styling! Sign me up. I went in, I relaxed and came back out with pretty hair. Thanks Swink! I’ll be back very soon :)
