If you know your fish, you know sushi, this is a secret hide away of deliciousness. It’ll make your mouth water! You can pretty much make everything to order if you ask nicely — it helps if they recognize you… Great sushi — rolls, nagiri, Especially if you’re GF… They even have GF soy sauce. This is a little hole in the wall, which makes better, it’s like a local treasure… Family business, local owners, they actually pick out their fresh fish every day, along with fresh veggies. and I’ve never had too much philly on my salmon philly roll. This is a must for me every time I’m at pike place — Bell town — the marina — OK just down town in general. Yummy!!!

I had to toss the sushi… The fish wasn’t properly chilled and the fish did not seem alright on my sashimi, I thought the smell wasn’t right either, I didn’t took the risk The California Roll was the worst tasting I had in Seattle. I was very disappointed, I thought it’s impossible to get that bad sushi in Seattle… I don’t know why they have the sticker most loved by Unilocal users… Very bad experience

Why only 1 star number one reason was that while we were eating my brother had to use restroom they told him no public restroom. Then halfway down our meal they gave someone else a key to the restroom. I contronted them and they acted like they did not understand me.

Good but not amazing sushi, handy location, reasonable price The owner lady is a little gruff, but not a big deal. The food is good for lunch when you need a quick sushi fix. The chef special is a pretty good deal.

I work nearby and have been into Sushi Bella about a half dozen times in the last year. The sushi is ok — in a pinch. The service is… not warm & friendly to say the least but would not go as far as to describe it as rude. There seems little desire to welcome people in and eat inside Sushi Bella inasmuch there’s an interest for pickup /takeout. Portions & presentation are average yet the cost is a bit above what I’d expect. If you don’t work across the street then I wouldn’t go out of your way for this place. Good in a pinch if you’re walking north of the market and strolling by but there are other places I’d rate better near the Market. Late lunch edit today: I wrote the above paragraphs and decided to pause to order again right now to give them another shot. The only changes I made today than in all previous times was I phoned the order in and gave a 10% tip despite it being a takeout. As soon as she saw the tip, she thanked me(4 times) repeatedly. I don’t recommend unnecessarily tipping but she sure was noticeably friendly after I tipped on a takeout order.

This place is more of a lunch counter than a full service restaurant, but once you figure out how things work it’s great. The fish is super fresh and well prepared, the rice is beautifully seasoned, and everything is very efficient. It’s the prefect place for a quick weekday lunch.

Sigh. I was curious about this place and well. don’t need to be anymore. I arrived on a sat at 130pm and the place is empty, all aside from a female running the register and a male chef. I looked over the menu and then inquired about getting a small cup of water to give to my dogs outside before ordering. The sour faced cashier snapped«Why you no bring your own water for you dogs!?» before giving me a cup. The place was very hot and stuffy inside, and the sushi bar that I would have preferred to sit at had a reserved sign, even though the restaurant was empty. I tried to shake off the initial poor reception, as good sushi goes a long way. I ordered $ 20 worth of sushi and a drink. The sourpuss lady cashier remained glarey and disdainful since voicing her disapproval over dog water. Her English is poor and I had a rough time trying to figure out what she was saying was the total due. I sat and patiently waited for my meal and was motioned over not too long later to find it all boxed up to go. I told the lady that I had intended to eat in. She hurrumphed and unpacked it in the laziest way possible. I inquired about the free miso soup, since there were signs everywhere saying«buy sushi, free miso», she hurrumphed again and painfully obliged. The sushi was very disappointing. the rice had probably sat around for hours and wasn’t fresh. Everything was very mediocre at best. Crummy attitudes and crummy food. I would not recommend.

A cute and quiet little spot hidden away from the chaos of Pike’s Market a block away. While every time I stop in for an afternoon bite, the place is entirely empty leaving me to my food and the owners. Not a bad thing at all! It’s a mom and pop sushi shop to it’s roots and I love that! Nothing frilly or jazzed up rolls just simply excellent cuts of fish! I usually order a small sashimi set, a true test of just how good a restaurant’s freshness and cuts are! I really do hope they’re doing more delivery or pick up because I’d hate to ever see this spot close.

Service is bad– I walked in to eat on site– I am the ONLY person here and she told me to sit in the corner at the high top bar– I was going to sit up there anyway but why in the corner– are there suddenly going to be a rush of 20 people? I felt like they were staring At the back of my head while I was eating! I ate super quick and got out of there. The sign up front that they don’t have restrooms is true, BUT there are some in the back hallway and i am sure legally they have to let you use them. She scoffed at me for even asking but took me back there. I had to pay up front which is odd. And felt obligated to tip even though I had to get up to collect my items. And when I asked for low sodium soy sauce you would have thought I was asking for a first class upgrade. Sushi was decent/not cold enough, but would only grab items to go here… maybe if they were the only sushi place open. Bad service can really ruin a desire to go to an establishment regardless of the quality of food.

As far as the food goes, it was surprisingly good. However keep an eye on your bank account if you use a card. We were there in the middle of December, they didn’t charge my card until January 20th, we’ve never been back and my card was charged again on 2⁄24 for the exact same amount. Needless to say I have filed a complaint with my bank.

Sushi was okay for the price. Found large fish scales in the Seattle roll, which was underwhelming to begin with. Stick with their cheaper rolls like salmon and avacado, they’re a better value, though they do skimp on the ingredients toward the ends of the rolls.

Horrible. Rude service. They ration soy sauce and don’t listen to special request.s. Mediocre quality of fish. The rolls skimp on ingredients too. If you have to have sushi you can do much better elsewhere.

This is a nice little take-out place to get your sushi fix on every once in a while when you don’t want to drop by Shiro’s on 2nd. The prices are reasonable and the sushi is reasonably fresh. I usually get three rolls to go — salmon, tuna and yellowtail. The couple who run it always remember my order and greet me with a nice smile. The yellowtail they serve is among the best I’ve ever had — on par with Shiro’s, seriously. The tuna is quite good too. The salmon — somewhat ironically being two blocks away from America’s most famous salmon market — usually tastes salty and a little off. Not the highlight of the meal for sure. Anyway, in conclusion, if you’re coming from downtown to your Belltown apartment, this is a great Thursday night meal to take out from. Stop on by and try it out.

The service here was really a turn-off. After sitting down — and establishing that we were eating onsite — ordering $ 60+ worth of sushi for three people, we were told we needed to pay in advance. Curtly. Really? A mom and two sons being told to pay up front in order to have the privilege of eating at a sushi bar. Really? Look. I love me some sushi. But I’ve never eaten at a sushi bar where I was told to pay before I order. Perhaps they have an ‘eat and run’ problem at the location… I don’t know. But it was really tacky. When the sushi came, it was good, other than the spicy tuna roll wasn’t well chopped — and when I say well chopped I mean it was sinewy. The nigiri was fresh. But the experience was pretty tainted by then. Couldn’t and wouldn’t recommend to anyone who truly loves a sushi bar experience, especially when there are some great sushi bars right around the corner.

My friend and I came here for a quick dinner on a Friday evening. The place is not meant for dine in, but you can sit by the bar or by the window and still enjoy your sushi. You can also just pop in, grab some fresh already made rolls To-Go and you still get the great quality of sushi if you stayed and dined in. I tried their Chef’s special, which is totally great price for the amount of rolls and really fresh fish you get, of spicy tuna with one piece of: yellowtail, snapper, shrimp, egg, tuna, and salmon. It comes to 14 sushi pieces and bowl of miso soup for only $ 12.95! I also tried their new Phoenix roll(12 pieces for $ 12.95), which was really delicious! They put a generous amount of fish in your rolls and not a lot of rice, which is PERFECT! Their fish is SOFRESH, like you know it’s not frozen from Costco. The service is great and I highly recommend this place for a quick bite, or a long one.

Popped in for a quick dinner after reading some of the reviews. And so I repeat what they’ve said — be prepared for the convenience store«feel» to the place. There are only a dozen or so seats, all at the bar. The rest of the place has coolers of sushi and drinks. While I sat there, someone came in and all she bought was a bottle of Diet Pepsi. I think they expected me to also get something to go, but my feet hurt and I just wanted to sit for a bit. I ordered two rolls and a bowl of miso soup. The soup was a disappointment. Even though I was warned that it was hot, it was not even barely warm. But I didn’t think I would complain today as the sushi itself was good. As is normal when you sit at the bar, you get to watch it being prepared. Good sushi counter, a very sharp knife and a whole lot of tupperwares full of roe, fish wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean and someone who knows which way is up. Was it great? No. Was it good? Yes. Would I return? Maybe. There’s probably better elsewhere.

I was looking for a reasonably priced sushi place near the market and this place fit the bill. When we walked in around lunch time, we were the only patrons. This place isn’t really a nice sit-down restaurant more like a convenience store as they have several grab-and-go items. But don’t be fooled the food is still good. We sat at the counter and watched the sushi chef make our rolls. I had the chef’s special with 6 pieces of sashimi and a spicy salmon roll with miso soup. My boyfriend had some fancy roll with tempura. Both were delicious and I thought the sushi was very fresh! The lady serving us was very kind and prompt. Great sushi and service for good prices!
