The highlight of this location are the malasadas, and will probably be the prime reason for any repeat visits from me. While it is a bit out of the way from my normal routes, I’d come back for the malasadas(coconut cream please). As far as I am aware, this is the only place that offers malasadas in Seattle. For those who don’t know, a «malasada» is a sweet beignet/donut filled with coconut cream(here, you can choose Nutella as an alternative filling). The malasadas are made to order, and oh so incredible. The 3-star is for a solid eating experience but(other than the malasada), nothing that blows my mind. This review is only related to the lunch offering, so I may update the review if I come back for happy hour or dinner; I do hear the wings are good, and the pictures make me salivate. Being very familiar with the Marination family(I love me some fish and chips from Marination Makai), I saw a lot of familiar names on the Super Six menu, such as the loco moco. While this makes sense, I found myself disappointed as I figured with a new name and concept that they should have completely different menu options. I tried the S6 noodles, which are japchae noodles(Korean) with veggies. I felt that a protein add-on as an option would have been appropriate. The noodles were good, but wouldn’t be a reason for me to come back. I’ll let you know if I come back for HH and if so, whether my review would change as a result.

Only 4 stars bc we haven’t tried non-HH fare. Great location for us, wonderful bar service from Terry and food we kept wanting to eat! I ordered a second pork belly app bc the rice was just perfectly sticky. We ordered pretty much all of the HH drink specials and walked home happy! Met some cool regular patron locals too, which is always nice. We had a really fun Tuesday night and will return for sure soon!

I came here for brunch with two of my friends on a Sunday, and the place was packed. There would be a 15 – 20 minute wait for three people to sit at one of the tables. Fortunately, there were seats at the bar, which was totally fine with us. The staff is very friendly, including our bartender who took our orders. Plus, there is a private parking lot next to the restaurant, which is awesome given it’s Seattle! They have Stumptown coffee and can make espressos, which was awesome. For food I had the Chinese Chicken Salad, and my friends had The Hangover, a poutine with a kalua pork and a fried egg and the Portuguese Sausage Hash. My salad was good, but wished it had just a bit more chicken instead of so much cabbage. It’s also a lot of food, so was easy to share with my friends. My friend who had the Hash wasn’t a fan of the sausage used in the entrée, even though she’s usually a fan of Portuguese Sausage. The Hangover, which sounded the most tempting to order, was unfortunately not that great. The fries were limp and the fried egg was unfortunately so overcooked that it didn’t have much of a runny yolk. I’d like to come back for dinner or lunch sometime, to see how the menu plays out, especially since I am a huge Marination Station fan.

Today was the first time eating at Super Six. We dropped in at around 11 am for lunch. Not busy at all. The restaurant had plenty of open seats. I had the Pork Katsu Sandwich and it was wonderful. No complaints at all. Great place and looking forward to coming back. I would like to bring my husband here and try the dinner menu sometime. I’m worried that this place gets too busy and limited seating and parking would be a drag.

1. Mediocre brunch 2. Great service 3. Still will give happy hour and dinner an opportunity to win my heart Consumed: Hawaiian Toast Malasada Portuguese Sausage Hash S6 Scramble The Hangover Came here on a double date for brunch and it was a tad bit underwhelming. Service was great and the wait didn’t seem too long for those who didn’t have a reservation. In terms of the food, it wasn’t as flavorful and yummy as I had anticipated. Maybe I came in with too high of expectations? My favorite out of what we had was the Hawaiian Toast. It was a good balance of savory and sweet. It also tasted Hawaiian!(yay). Though everything else we had wasn’t particularly outstanding. The fries for the hangover were a bit soggier than expected and the kalua pork didn’t taste like it was marinated sufficiently. I felt like the has could have had more of a kick too. However, despite our average brunch experience, I will likely come back for happy hour/dinner. My other friends had visited and thought it was great.

This is the answer to «Marination Ma Kai needs a bigger bar…» Everything about this building spells: great summertime place to drink out in patio, game day upstairs and in-house kitchen. Ladies, hang up your purse and plug in your phones under the bar. Dinnertime menu is much more appealing than weak-ass day lunch. $ 12 Ono Chicken Bowl on the Weekday Lunch Menu is the equivalent of Jon #9 Ryan’s «improvised fake punt» at Vikings game. Not what you planned on, but think ya can wing it and what a fail! Julienned ¼ chicken breast over a bowl of rice for $ 12 is appalling. Flinging that bowl across the bar seemed more worthwhile of $ 12 during that hour. Chinese chicken salad was better. Monkey may return in warmer months for the patio and give dinner a shot. Small parking lot available for 20 carefully placed cars.

Although I have yet to try Marination, I’m happy that Super Six opened! Been here three times(both HH and regular) and both times were satisfying! The service here has been good and the food is really great too! The only food that I didn’t like was the salmon poke :(It was a disappointment since I was really craving for some good poke. The portion was small and it was salty and the salmon was cut into small pieces. Other than this one dish, everything else I have tried has been great!(burger, chicken wings, quesadilla, fries, musubi). That’s why this place deserve five stars instead of rating them down for one dish I didn’t like. HH is from 3 – 6 and is worth it! Will definitely come back in the future :)

I love Marination so I was excited to try Super Six, but overall I found the food to be less impressive than Marination. We had the Spicy Korean style fried chicken wings, which had too much breading and a one-note sauce(too much gochujang?). The garlic fried rice was pretty good(very strong garlic flavor and plenty of Kahlua pork), but less addictive than Marination’s kimchi fried rice, perhaps because it lacked some of the spice and acidity from the kimchi. I did love my drink though — Thatcher(bourbon, aveze, guava, mint & citrus cordial). Atmosphere on Friday night was lively. Around 6:30/7, there was a ~30 min wait for 2 but we were able to find a couple seats at the bar after 10 – 15 minutes. Hostess was very friendly and service at the bar was quick. Bonus — they have their own parking lot!

Im real happy for you Super Six and I’m gonna let you finish but these were some of the worst chicken wings of all time… all time. My review is only on the chicken wings I had 2 months ago. I will be going back to try other foods this month. The staff was great, it was a busy night and I got 2 different types of chicken wings to go. I didn’t wait long, I was offered a seat and a glass of water. When I got home with my food(I live within walking distance *CC local*) the chicken wings were temperature hot they just had no flavor. There was a lot of goop on them and they looked great but it just didn’t come across as anything but a vessel for a pretty bland sauce. I will be updating this review when I get back so, for now, if you are a chicken wing lover such as myself try somewhere else.

A nice unique little addition to the Columbia City strip. The food that I have had has been good — but I bet could be better. I say this because I have an obvious bias: 1) my expectation of Hawaiian food is high having lived in Hawaii and 2) I don’t eat pork. And there’s a lot of pork in Hawaiian food and in turn, the Super Six menu. What I have tried that is good: Malasadas, of course. Malasada French toast with fried tofu instead of spam. Big ol chicken salad. Chicken wings — all flavors have been great, prob my favorite dish here. Drinks are great here. $ 12 for bottomless mimosas during brunch. The«Super Six on the Beach» is a fun tasty strong drink, great for sharing. You can even get a $ 1 Rainier during happy hour! Service has been hit or miss for the handful of times I have been there. The first time was solid — quick to be greeted, quick to be seated, and served promptly with friendly conversation. After that however, it’s been so-so. 1) No greeting by host at the stand after walking in, 2) taking 45 minutes to get 2 lunch entrees and 3) unfriendly reaction to asking for options to a meat alternative. With that said, I appreciate a woman-of-color-owned business in the neighborhood and will continue to support despite the few hiccups lately.

With some pretty solid ono grindz and top notch service, Super Six is worth a trip to Columbia City. Bottomless mimosas — $ 12. Need I say more? I came for brunch with a group of 14 and found myself very impressed with the new addition to the Marination family. Malasadas — For those reminiscing on their time in Hawaii — eating malasadas and sipping on some coffee — Super Six does an admirable job delivering. At $ 2.50 a pop, these malasadas can never compare to Leonard’s based on principle alone, but certainly are worth your time and precious stomach space. Stick with the OG no filling version. The Hangover — While I found the dish to be a little too salty overall, I still found myself unable to put my fork down. The Kahlua pork was very tender and avoided the all-too-often stigma of being overly dried out. The fries maintained a good crunchy texture, despite the soy sauce based gravy and Kahlua pork on top. The fried egg was cooked a perfect over easy and really brought the entire dish together, especially with some added Sriracha. Where Super Six shines is the service without a doubt. Other reviewers seem to agree that the service here is top notch. I wish I knew the name of our waitress that morning to give her the accolades she deserves. She was constantly bringing out our bottomless mimosas(carried them upstairs, mind you) throughout our entire 1.5 hour meal and split our bill without any hesitation or direction. I really appreciated the wonderful service!

Fairly good experience with the service and one of the dishes, but the other dish was inedible and my cappuccino order was forgotten in the rush of the holiday weekend. I may try his place again, maybe for happy hour and hope for a better outcome. Thumbs up: — There was a 40 minute wait, but the hostess was kind enough to take our name and number and call us when the table for 3 opened up. We were able to run errands nearby and return to a table already set up for us. — Husband and I ordered the Hangover, Chicken Fried Steak, drip Stumptown coffee and a cappuccino. Food came quickly and drip coffee was refilled often enough. The Chicken Fried Steak was delicious and moist, accompanied by crispy potatoes and yummy gravy. I’d order that again. — Unfortunately, the Hangover was over salty and rendered inedible. Though the Kalua pork was very tender, it was doused in a brown, soy-based sauce that was super salty. After one bite, both my husband and I could not continue and had to alert the staff, who apologized and took it off the bill. Glad they were nice about it. — Appreciate that this place has parking and the restaurant design itself is very cool. Thumbs Down: — Aside from the Hangover dish issue, I ordered a cappuccino at the very start and it never arrived. We ended up requesting it to go and it was also comped on the bill(thanks Super Six).

If you’ve been to the other Marination establishments, you still need to go checkout Super Six! It’s not only a different dining experience, the food is very different. Super Six didn’t take reservations when we went, but I think you can now on their website. Without a reservation, expect a wait. There is a small bar area, which was tough for standing and waiting, or a couple options within a block to grab a drink. The menu does change, but this is what we enjoyed: Aloha Fries — Perfect for sharing, although they are a little heavy as a starter so don’t fill up too much. The pork with the egg is the best! Hawaiian Quesadilla — It’s like a Hawaiian pizza version of the quesadilla, good portion size with a kick of heat/spiciness. Garlic Fried Rice — Maybe some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had, so good! Chicken Wings — We got the spicy Korean variety, which were actually quite mild. I was expecting good things here, but the wings were pretty normal and a little underwhelming. Wish I would have gotten the poke instead. The drink menu is also great, featuring some of the classic Hawaiian cocktails — originals and«rebuilt» drinks offer just about everyone an option. We ate as a group of six and did everything family style… walked away full and was totally reasonable for the price.

WELOVESUPERSIX. My friends and I came here to do a catch-up brunch and heard this place was really good. I got the sunrise burrito and it was what I expected. My friend got a scramble and seemed to like it as well. We also got two donuts, one Nutella filled and the other coconut filled. The coconut filled one was honestly more like a cream filling than coconut filling, and for some reason, didn’t get warmed up as much as the Nutella one did. I’ll have to be a little biased and say the Nutella one was better tasting because it was warmed… But you should definitely try either filled one for the experience. I don’t think I would get the donut again though but definitely try it if you havent before. The five stars are for the service by Adam. He was super friendly and sociable, and ended up giving us the donuts to us on the house because we had waited a while for the donuts to come out. Even though we stayed for a couple hours, he kept checking up on us to see if we were okay. You go Glen Coco!

I had no clue that this restaurant existed and realized that it was the sister restaurant of marination station! The ambiance of this place is super chill(I went on a Tuesday during happy hour 3 – 6). I liked how quiet it was; it allowed me and my party to enjoy our time there. I ordered the Hawaiian Quesadillas and it was delicious! I prefer a little spice in my foods but this was still very good as well. The pineapples gave it that unique taste which made me completely finish my dish. My friends ordered the Aloha Fries and those are seasoned just right along with the pork! I kinda wished I ordered the fries instead. Overall was delicious! Service was good as well! Nothing to complain about!

I’m from Hawai‘i so I was kind of expecting to be slightly disappointed but the food here was amazing! It’s local fusion so they have familiar ingredients/dishes but still make them interesting with a fusion twist. My friends and I had the spam sliders, Hawaiian quesadilla, and Aloha Fries. I’m usually a bit weary about eating spam on the mainland, especially if it’s not in the form of musubi, but these were great! I think they were a bit overpriced(but maybe not since spam is a bit pricey on the mainland) but the sauce was interesting and I liked the slight crisp of the spam and roll. The Hawaiian quesadilla was my favorite! So many different flavors to stimulate all of the tastebuds on your tongue! Again, I was kind of off-put by the fact that it had pineapple and ham(people in Hawai‘i don’t actually eat«Hawaiian pizza» and it’s actually a Canadian invention… thanks, Canada…) but it was surprisingly delicious. Sweet, spicy, savory, all in one! My friend didn’t like the texture but I think he might’ve just gotten a soggy slice. I didn’t care too much for the Aloha Fries but they were my friends’ favorite. The space is clean and very open. Even if it was packed with people, you wouldn’t feel claustrophobic at all. There are two stories of seating inside and also outdoor seating. The service was great and we never had to wait for refills. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m on the west side! I’m excited to try their desserts and other dishes!

I was super excited to try this place, came in on a Saturday for brunch and they have ridiculously great portions and pretty good mix of Hawaiian fusion. I definitely felt bad that our waitress had to schlep up and down the stairs to get us our food and drinks but really enjoyed the all you can drink mimosas. But with any fusion place I think this definitely doesn’t compare to the actual taste of what you can get in Hawaii. I got the S6 Breakfast and also got a side of the Portuguese sausage. I was pretty disappointed since it was super oily and they make it into a patty or just marinate it in the flavor. I was definitely expecting actual sausage so they might want to change the name so it’s accurate. I still have high hopes and will come back for another round of brunch. I’m just glad that there is another brunch place in Columbia city.

We came in Friday night and the place was packed. We circled the block once for parking– which came to no avail but realized they have their own parking lot, yay! And luckily there was one table left for us. We ordered char siu fried chicken, I loved how crunchy it was but the sauce was a little too salty for our tastes. The flavor reminds me of sweet and sour pork. We also ordered garlic fried rice, decent but also a little too salty. Mac salad was regular Mac salad, no complaints! And we got the mussels and clams dish which was plentiful and also my favorite dish of the night! Despite the saltiness of the food, I think this place has a lot of potential. I really like what they have on the menu. But it is slightly pricy. Service was alright.
