Ordered ahead on the app once and arrived to find my drink missing because apparently someone took it. Weird. They made me a new one no problem. Their frappuccinos could use some work. Mine are always watery and don’t have that nice icy slush consistency.

This is the first and only Starbucks in 15+ years of going to Starbucks that I was forbidden from using the bathroom before making a purchase. This was also the manager who said no. I have NEVER had a Starbucks say no to me asking to use the bathroom, before or after I have placed my order, in the United States or in any other country, or Washington or any other state. The manager’s behavior was in complete contrast to Starbucks’ normally accommodating, customer service first attitude. She said this store was an exception, and they do it for their own safety. I, standing there in my dress shirt and slacks, joked that I wasn’t going to go shoot up heroin. Making light of the situation didn’t help, either.

I LOVE this Starbucks not because it has available seating, outlets everywhere for studying, a fluid yet calm environment, and wonderful air conditioning but mostly because of the service! I go to get coffee once a week and it’s always the same order one for me and two for my coworkers and almost every barista not only remembers my order but knows my name too! I just get good vibes all over when I go in and am always greeted with smiles and kindness. Favorite baristas off the top of my head: Olga, Amanda, and Monisa! Thanks ladies and over employees for making my caffeine trip so wonderful. I’ll see you soon!

Customer service is lacking. But I don’t blame them. This place is busy being practically on campus. I bet I wouldn’t last 1 shift, so here’s a shoutout to the staff. This is also one of the larger locations on the Ave, which makes studying passable. I prefer the benches along the windows since they’re high enough to stand for a break from sitting.

I love this store. It’s absolutely my favorite Starbucks, and I come in almost everyday. Olga is by far the best Starbucks Manager I’ve ever encountered– she remembers me and is always helpful and polite. I’ve never had any issues with their other baristas– all are nice and friendly, and they remember me too. I always come in in the morning. I didn’t like Jamil too much(he was kinda rude) — but I’m pretty sure he’s gone now. I have respect for anyone that can work on the Ave and keep a smile on their faces. These guys do it with class!

Utterly the worst starbucks I’ve been to. Specifically, I am referring to how horrible the customer service is. I have for the last 4 times, had Jamil as my cashier and every time, he is super rude. He always makes rude comments and gestures about customers with other cashiers. This is all done in front of the customer. Honestly bewilders me how Starbucks hires such incompetent people who obviously should not be working in the customer service industry. PS: just avoid the cashier, Jamil. If you do get him, ask for a different cashier.

It’s a Starbucks and it’s on the Ave. pretty busy at the usual times and somewhat limited seating than what I am normally used to. The baristas here are fantastic, friendly, and super efficient. As you walk on make sure to stay to your left for the ordering line!

Let me start off by saying I’m a complete Starbucks fanatic. I have been in every Starbucks this way of Sunday in the Seattle area… and this is by far my absolute favorite! The staff here is always phenomenal and on point. Due to being in a student area you know that there are going to be part-time baristas with staff turnover a couple of times a year. That is completely fine because they ALWAYS introduce their newer baristas to their regular clients by name AND drink. They train everyone quickly on how to pour the perfect shot and they handle busy lines like pros. Olga is one of the best and friendliest mangers I have met in any retail establishment ever. She even knows my dog’s name and knows my boyfriend’s drink if we happened to carpool that day. I constantly come in for drinks for my entire office(down the street) and they are always happy to take large drink orders and never complain or act like it’s inconvenient. Their job is much more than writing down a drink order, they are the first people I speak to everyday and they make my day better every time. phenomenal

This Starbucks is pretty big, which is nice when you’re looking for a place to hang out, but since it’s in the U District, and it’s a Starbucks, it can get pretty crowded. The baristas seem friendly enough, but the place could use some improvements on the cleanliness front. For the whole hour and a half that I was there, the self-serve area was a mess and never got cleaned up. The trash cans were overflowing out on to the self-serve counter. Sure, it’s busy, but take some time to clean house every so often. Oh yeah, and they serve Starbucks coffee. In case you aren’t aware, for just black coffee, don’t go to Starbucks. Unless you get the clover brew, which still isn’t great, but is at least drinkable. So really, for coffee options, you should probably stick with whatever ridiculously sugar-saturated drinks sound good, because the sugar and syrup do a good job of hiding the burnt coffee taste.

I’m so over this Starbucks! I come here almost everyday and I get 3 drinks and a Pastry. That’s it! I’m a simple lady and I’m friendly so I don’t get what their deal is. They make it seem like it’s such a burden to make 3 drinks! Really? It’s the lady baristas that are the worse. They seem annoyed when I’m making my order. It’s your job. I’m pretty sure when you’re taking orders, it’s not that hard to write WM on a cup and then punch it in the system. So I’d appreciate a little less attitude, especially since I tip you everyday! Idk why I do? It’s not like you really deserve it but I feel guilty not tipping. But DJ is awesome! Super friendly! I’m probably going to switch back to Tully’s just because I can’t handle this store anymore. I’m willing to spend almost $ 20 a day, 5 days a week. That’s almost $ 100 a week. I think I deserve a little bit better service for that money. I know, I know it’s Starbucks and I shouldn’t expect much BUT I do expect the bare minimum and I definitely don’t receive that here. Sooooo if you wanna go to an awesome store the one on 45th in Wallingford is amazing and super friendly! Oh, and my final straw with this one was when Olga made my drink, chai tea latte, and I’m pretty sure she didn’t put chai in it. OR she just put one pump in it bc I’m pretty sure I just drank steamed milk. Thanks for the $ 4 steamed milk bc everyone loves steamed milk right? SMH

I stopped by on the way to class for some coffee. Not disappointed! It’s your standard Starbucks, no surprises here! They brew a decent shot of espresso and mix lattes nicely. I got a mocha. No complaints! I’ll be back!

This Starbucks is the northerly location of the two found on University Way. This block in the U-District is arguably the sketchiest in the neighborhood. Fortunately, this location is near the end of the block as opposed to being in the middle of it. Though expect to see some characters fronting this location. This is a smaller location that is shaped in a rectangular fashion. The coffee counter is towards the back, while seating is at the front. The lighting here is on the dim side like you are in a basement. The bathrooms here are for customers only and are locked as such. Go elsewhere if you are looking for a public bathroom. This Starbucks is okay made better by the location. It is close to the UW campus and on one of main dining blocks in the neighborhood. Aesthetically, this location is plain looking. The main Starbucks at U-Village nearby is superior to this one.

This Starbucks is great! It IS small, but its location is great and perfect if you just want a coffee to-go. If you want to sit down and stay awhile, go to the one in UVille. It’s on the Ave, where very few of the shops and restaurants are that large. Plus, this is one of the oldest Starbuck’s, so cut it some slack. The baristas are great– I went in there yesterday, Thursday, around 2:30PM, and all three working were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond service by enticing me to try something new. They were very helpful with their suggestions, asking me a lot of questions about what I liked in order to suggest the perfect drink. I ended up getting a hazelnut latte, I think, and it was perfect. What I like about this Starbucks are the little touches it has to make it its own– I love the little chalkboard on the counter with trivia questions to keep your mind busy while you wait for your drink. Another great touch is selling local artwork and photography by Seattle artists, something I haven’t seen done in other Starbucks. Great staff, great atmosphere, great service. It’s difficult to stand out amongst so many other Starbuck’s, but this one does it. Keep up the great work!

Baristas and those ringing up your ordurrr are pleasant and will often engage in small-talk while you’re waiting for your beverage. I appreciate that. Some don’t like it, but for me it shows interest on their behalf and promotes a pleasant atmosphere, even if I just want to get it, get my grande Americano, and get out. I also like how they nominate monthly employees for things, do other Starbucks establishments do that? Missing one star because it’s Starbucks.

This is the first Starbucks of the U-District. I used to eat lunch with a coffee here all the time when I commuted every weekday from Puyallup to my job at Suzzallo Library in the mid 1990’s. Like most Starbucks’ the space here is a bit tight. For some reason the espresso jerks here seem a bit more harried than at other Starbucks’. I recently had the Salted Caramel Mocha and while it was interesting enough to order now and then(I put salt on everything, so why not on my coffee?) I wouldn’t get it more often than the regular Mocha. A lot of my friends would shoot me for getting coffee from Starbucks, and most of the time, for reasons of social justice, I prefer to get my coffee at coffee places with more of a mom and pop thing going on, but sometimes I crave that unique flavor only a Starbucks espresso shot has. My friends call it ‘burnt,’ but I think Starbucks and I prefer the term … ‘toasted.’

This Starbucks is in the shape of a shoebox. So, it is pretty much a straight shot between any two points inside(no pun intended). Service is pretty good. The longtime employees are sometimes a little jaded, but you know what, I understand. It so happens to be the fifth Starbucks, and the third oldest one still around, but feels fairly new since they remodeled it like a year ago. The lighting is comfortable though not bright(try the back corner if you want to read), and most of the seats along the sides have an outlet nearby if you need to plug in. Local art adorns the walls, and sorority girls tend to cluster at the disabled table.

One more wonderful Starbucks to stop in to on a clod day wandering the Ave. Gotta hand it to the staff. This is a busy place. They don’t get flustered. Students who camp, harried grads, street people, professionals snuggling, parents with toddlers. We all coem in. The standard warm and welcoming greeting of good coffee smell and smiles stands.
