Starbucks

After taco night with sangria, then Maker’s Mark until the wee hours of the morning, I woke up a little unfocused. This led to me spending the day wandering about the neighborhood and since I haven’t reviewed much for a while, I decided to chronicle my journey.
2^nd stop — Starbucks in the Safeway on Roxbury
So I head to Safeway because I’m walking and girl cannot live on a cake donut alone. Typically I don’t go to Starbucks but as I enter the grocery, I realize that my need for caffeine is desperate (refer to the first sentence).
I’ve gone to this Starbucks before. Ugh. The young women who work there are particularly unprofessional. They talk about their friends, their co-​workers, events of the weekend… pretty much anything but making coffee. And it typically follows the theme of how everyone but them is really messed up. And while this is happening, bleary eyed petitioners stand and wait… but it’s as if the people waiting do not exist. It’s almost like the workers there think if they don’t look at you, you can’t hear them. News flash, ladies. We can hear you.
There’s one woman who seems particularly bad. Let’s call her… Grisha. Today, I walked up and got in line and stood there while one young woman was trying to figure out something on the register, another stared at a piece of paper and Grisha chattered away about nothing. I turned and left. Even I don’t need coffee this badly.
